Sissi said to reject US proposal for Egypt to run Gaza security until PA ready to take over

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi reportedly rejected a proposal from CIA Director William Burns for Cairo to temporarily manage security in the Gaza Strip after the war until the Palestinian Authority is prepared to take over.

Sissi told Burns that Egypt won’t play a role in removing Hamas as the terror group has helped keep its border with Gaza relatively calm in recent years, the Wall Street Journal reports, citing senior Egyptian officials.

‘They’ll grow up and become soldiers’: Interrogated Hamas terrorist said to justify killing children

A terrorist from Hamas’s elite Nukhba Force who was caught by Israel during the October 7 massacre told Shin Bet interrogators that he had received orders to kill Israeli children, Haaretz reports.

“They’ll grow up and become soldiers” he explained, according to Haaretz.

He went on to justify the decapitation of Israeli victims, saying it was done to “to sow fear” among the Israeli public.

The terrorist said he didn’t regret anything he had done and said that in “terms of the brutality, there’s no difference” between the acts carried out by Hamas and those done by ISIS, Haaretz reports.

''Hostages: Efforts by Qatar and Egypt to negotiate a deal with Hamas leaders to release up to 15 hostages in exchange for a 48-hour pause stalled Wednesday. Hamas is holding more than 200 hostages.
Israeli stance: Israeli officials said that Israel doesn't want to govern Gaza after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel plans to assume indefinite responsibility for its security. He said Israel will act to stop Jewish extremists from targeting Palestinians in the West Bank.
U.S. response: The U.S. said it launched an airstrike on a weapons facility used by an Iranian group in Syria. Secretary of State Antony Blinken described a path toward Israelis and Palestinians living side by side “in space of their own with equal measures of security, freedom, opportunity and dignity.”
Humanitarian efforts: More than 100 aid trucks made it into Gaza late Wednesday through the Rafah crossing, the largest in a single day since aid trucks were first allowed in on Oct. 21. The exit of foreigners from Gaza at the Rafah border crossing with Egypt was halted again.''

Shocking exposé by @HonestReporting: Photographers working for AP, Reuters, NY Times and CNN were embedded with Hamas on the Oct 7th massacre. Did they know about the attack beforehand?!Gazan freelance journalist Hassan Eslaiah whom both AP & CNN used on Oct. 7.Here he is pictured with Hamas leader and mastermind of the Oct. 7 massacre, Yahya Sinwar.

The picture of Eslaiah with Sinwar is pretty damning. They look pretty buddy-buddy. MOO

Negotiations are underway for the release of a dozen hostages held by Hamas, including six Americans, in return for a three-day ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, a source close to Hamas told AFP Wednesday.

Another source said Qatar was mediating negotiations in coordination with the US to free “10-15 hostages in exchange for a one- to two-day ceasefire”.

Qatar, like Egypt, has been playing a key role in attempts to bring more aid into the Gaza Strip.

Hamas has upwards of 200 hostages---and they are only willing to give up FIFTEEN for 3 days of no bombing?

Doesn't seem like the rest will be home anytime soon then.

The Israeli military has escorted journalists from some outlets through parts of Gaza. Here is some of the first-person report by AFP:

Gaza City’s suburbs began to appear after about 30 minutes of navigating broken roads. We were approaching the focal point of the fight between Israel and Hamas in the territory.

On Wednesday, AFP was embedded with Israeli soldiers, and witnessed the devastation of a month of war at first hand. Our still and video images were submitted to the Israeli military censor for approval.

Security was at a maximum for the incursion which lasted a few hours, and was organised for several representatives of the foreign media covering the Israel-Hamas war.

We drove the few kilometres (miles) from the southern border of Israel into northern Gaza City in an Israeli armoured vehicle which jolted over bumps in the road.

The outside landscape could be seen on screens inside the vehicle: broken palm trees, distorted road signs and twisted lampposts along the ruins of what was once north Gaza’s main arterial route.

Israeli flags now fly over buildings at beach resorts in northern Gaza. There is little sign of any human presence amid the destruction.

'March for Israel' on National Mall set for Tuesday

The Jewish Federations of North America announced its "March for Israel" will take place on the National Mall in Washington on Tuesday.

"The March will be an opportunity for all Americans to come together in solidarity with the people of Israel, to demonstrate our commitment to America’s most important ally in the Middle East, to condemn the rising trend of antisemitic violence and harassment, and to demand that every hostage be immediately and safely released," the group said in a news release.

The Jewish Federations of North America aims to help Jewish communities at home and abroad.

IDF combat engineers are currently working to expose and destroy Hamas terrorist infrastructure in Gaza, including tunnels. Water and oxygen storage discovered inside the tunnels indicates Hamas' preparations for prolonged stays underground.

130 tunnel entrances have been destroyed since the beginning of the war.

Four Moldovan nationals are strongly suspected of being behind some of the 250 Star of David tags found on walls in Paris and its suburbs over the past 10 days. One couple was arrested on October 27, another is on the run. French intelligence agencies now firmly believe it was an external attempt at destabilization. In a press release issued on Tuesday, November 7, the Paris prosecutor said that the examination of telephone data "suggests that the two pairs of perpetrators were in touch with the same third person." The prosecutor also stated that "at this stage, it cannot be ruled out that the marking of the blue Stars of David in the Paris region was carried out at the express request of a person living abroad." The investigation has now been handed to an investigating magistrate.

I'm trying to understand the implication here---are these 250 tags supposedly placed on door ways of Jewish families?

Or were they randomly placed?

“We’re here as mothers, not as politicians,” the three women say. They are not just any mothers – all three had children kidnapped from their kibbutz a month ago and taken hostage in Gaza. They look drained. Renana Jacob, Hadas Kalderon and B’atSheva Yahalomi are briefly in Britain, fighting for their children’s lives – and the lives of all children caught up in the Israel-Hamas war. They are meeting diplomats (they have just met Qatar’s ambassador to the UK, who is trying to negotiate their release) and telling their story to whomever will listen. It doesn’t get any easier with each retelling. If anything, it seems to get tougher.

The three women live on the Nir Oz kibbutz in the south of Israel. Jacob and Kalderon grew up there together. Like many kibbutzniks from earlier generations, they were idealists. They believed in collective living and shared values. Perhaps most importantly, they believed in the possibility of peace with their Palestinian neighbours in Gaza.

[...]

Their lives were ruptured on 7 October, the day of the Hamas massacre. “We’re three mothers from the same little village – a communal community that lived a peaceful life and believed in good neighbouring. Out of nowhere, we got this horror terror attack and our little village has gone. There is nothing left. And all we want is our children to be home. And this is why we’re here.”

The mothers’ mission is simple – they want their children brought home and Palestinian children to be provided with a safe place away from the carnage of Gaza. They say that no child should be a bargaining chip in a war.
