But he walked right out in front of the hallway camera so clearly wasn't trying to hide the fact that he was exiting the building. Just to the left was the door with the unplugged camera. Why didn't he unplug THIS camera if he was trying not to be seen?

Have you read his description of lighting his cigar? Do you find that credible?

As far as the 911 call....I can't imagine going into my sister's house and finding her the way Meredith found Michelle. I personally think she held it together better than I would have. Having Cassidy there must have added to her shock and by the way I definitely believe Meredith was in shock. JY asked her to go there, so she did and she knew right away something wasn't right. I'm sure she had a sense of something being wrong as she climbed those stairs calling out to Michelle.

It's easy to critique her call, but if any of us were in her place, I truly believe all of us would be in shock. How would we react then? None of us know the answer because none of us have found our sister dead on the floor, not to mention our neice in her bed. She did hold it together enough to speak coherently to the operator and she did do all that was asked of her.

I think Meredith did an outstanding job considering the horrendous cirstance she was in. Yes, the operator asked her to put Cassidy in another room because Cassidy was talking, Cassidy was trying to hold Meredith's attention the way most children do when their caretaker is on the phone. I'm sure Meredith could see Michelle was dead, but how could she even process such a harrowing image. She tried to tend to Cassidy, the living one, the one who needed her attention.

I can't even fathom trying to roll over my stiff, cold sister. OMG just thinking those thoughts almost makes me tremble!! Meredith did the best she could...nobody could ever convince me otherwise.
Obviously LE agreed as she was never considered a suspect or even a POI.

I do imagine what I would have done and I believe most people would check on the condition of the victim first and foremost, probably even before placing the call. She didn't, okay but then she was more worried about shielding CY than tending to her sister. Yes, it's a horrifying scene for a child but a life is at stake, an emergency exists. Don't worry about shielding and chatting it up with the child at this point.

Also, she doesn't answer questions directly, such as "Do you know what happened?" (A yes or no question) Response: "I have no idea."

Lots of extraneous information provided such as being there on a fluke, blood footprints in house, sister normally at work, I'm here with my niece.

She was very polite "Yes sir. Thank you."

Did you hear "Get somebody here right away!" I didn't hear any urgency for the victim. Those are red flags. That is undeniable. I do realize the caller would be in shock but these things just aren't right and they continue to bother me.

About it being windy? I did hear the explanation and didn't find anything odd about it. I used to travel for work a lot and would get bored sitting in a hotel room and totally would have stepped out for a smoke even in cold weather (when I was a smoker long ago).

I used to do this all the time when I was younger...I was much more trusting of people then.

I have seen it done a lot, and I really don't like it, if I see a door propped open where we are staying, I will shut it. It doesn't make me feel safe. In Jason's case, I think he was just being lazy, he was staying on the 4th floor, and it was late at nite, no one was around, and he was in the last room on his floor, where no one would steal his stuff.
Except, the night clerk should have seen it when he came to the room 2x in the middle of the night!
That would have been such powerful evidence, or a phone call to his room if there was no answer! What if Michelle called, what if there was an emergency with CY, and the night clerk had to go there, and NO JASON

I've been reading here since JonBenet was murdered, but rarely ever posted. I don't necessarily think, from the 911 call, that MF was involved. However, in watching both of JY's trials, as well as Brad Cooper's trial, the Judges let a lot of hearsay into the trials. I always thought hearsay was disallowed and they stick to the facts and firsthand information. Both cases played out like a soap opera. It was clearly about character assassination with very little hard evidence against either one. It's a shame that someone can get convicted on such little evidence. In both cases, there is clearly reasonable doubt. The character assassination is all hearsay. I'm glad they will both be retried. Our system stinks. I would hate to think this could happen to one of my children. I hope LE will reopen both investigations and leave no stone unturned to find the truth.

Oh no. Much more detail than just being windy. Check it out.

FYI - This is the Hampton Inn hotel room door that would have been ajar like this at 4:30AM when Keith would have placed a newspaper on the door handle.

I haven't read it, but I heard it, and I didn't find it lengthy at all. If it wasn't true, he could have said something, else, anything else. It is not that out there.

You find it aberrant that she chose to protect her little niece above all else? To me that was the smartest thing she could have done.

My husband and I just celebrated our 20th anniversary at the same hotel and room where we spent our honeymoon....and I still left the door ajar like this to go smoke, get ice, etc....knowing I wasn't going to be gone long. All valuables were in the safe and there was nothing I was worried about anyone stealing.

Take the time to listen again. It was quite detailed. I think just the opposite. It wasn't true. He embellished. It's way out there.

Welcome, and I hope you will post more.
Character assassination and tabloid headlines make them more interesting , I guess.

It wasn't about protection, it was about shielding her from the scene. No, I would have let her stand right next to me if I was trying to save her mother's life. This was a life/death situation. Plus, placing her in a bedroom when you don't know if the killer could still be in the house isn't something I would have done.

Remember, she said "I'm trying to keep her daughter out of there." when asked if she thought MY could still be alive. The priorities weren't right.

Re: cigar - It begins around 10:00. What did you find about it that sounded unbelievable? He lit the whole pack of matches so he could get his cigar lit. What's odd about that and again, what does the State allege he was doing at this time instead? On his way to Raleigh?

To put credibility into context - I found it more believable than the story that Mr. G was in the house.

Explain to me the difference between protecting her and shielding her from the scene? Are they not one and the same? It wasn't a life/ death situation. MY was cold and hard and stiff; no warmth, no life, no nothing. Her blood was congealed on the floor. She placed her in the bedroom, or tried to, because that's what the 911 operator told her to do.

"Do you know what happened?" Answer "I have no idea" ........you don't think that means NO?????

She WAS there on a fluke because Michelle WAS normally at work. There WERE bloody footprints.

Yes sir, no sir.........give me a break!!!

Is this all you have??? to say the 911 call are red flags because of these things???? These things are NOT undeniable red flags......they simply are not.

There's a huge difference between protecting her for her safety and shielding her from seeing the crime scene. The shielding shouldn't have been a priority as she was asked if she could still be alive and MF responded "I don't know. Should I check on her?" Well, yeah!

She really didn't know, hadn't even checked for a pulse at that point.

According to the FBI report they are, the Tracey Harpster report. Very clearly red flags. Did you read it?

Regarding extraneous information (bloody footprints, sister should be at work, here on a fluke, things don't look like they usually do), that isn't normal when a person needs urgent help for a victim. Normal is "Get someone over here now! Hurry!"

Yep, that's it. His animated description of the whole match book going up in flames. Someone said this was 6 years later. Not sure that is legit but, c'mon. Are you kidding me? He remembers that detail? Baloney! He was lying. Padding his alibi.
