"Jay Slater's friends

Lucy Law and Brad Hargreaves

quit Tenerife search

and fly home to UK."

Well now. If J's in a different part of Tenerife, then he either got there by walking, riding in a car, or some how by boat.

And if ANY of this would in fact be true, then there is WAY more going on here than a simple getting lost in the mountains and succumbing to the elements will ever explain.

"They are convinced someone, somewhere knows what happened to Jay or knows where is now is, and that’s what they are working towards trying to establish as quickly as they can.” The Sun revealed British police still cannot get involved despite Warren's emotional pleas.

I do wonder if “the not going involved” is just a ploy, as the UK police will have a lot of intel that may aid the investigation- by “refusing their information” some may be lured into a false sense of security and trip over their own feet.

These "bombshell" leads are not as promising or dramatic as the Sun makes them out to be. Their mysterious "source," who probably knows no more than I do, is simply stating the obvious:

"Even though the ground search for Jay is over, the investigation into where he might be still remains very much open. One line of inquiry is a theory that Jay might even be in a different part of Tenerife and still alive. All scenarios are being kept in mind. The case is very much open because there are still a number of unanswered questions which officers must find answers to. They are convinced someone, somewhere knows what happened to Jay or knows where is now is, and that’s what they are working towards trying to establish as quickly as they can."

Translation:
He's not in any of the places they've looked, so they're open to the possibility that he's somewhere other than the places they've looked.

It's said that Ophelia gestured 10 fingers to indicate that the bus would arrive at 10am,not that it was every 10 minutes
This info came from Lucy. Here's a video with Ophelia.

So if he mistakenly thought it was every 10 minutes, might explain why he set off to walk when it didn't arrive, instead of waiting till 10 o'clock?

A BRIT convicted drug dealer who partied with Jay Slater before the teen vanished is "not a murderer" and went by a different nickname before he became known as "Johnny Vegas", a former pal has revealed.

Ayub Qassim, 31, who was one of the two people who last saw Jay Slater in Tenerife, was also once known as "Whispers" in criminal circles

"They are convinced someone, somewhere knows what happened to Jay or knows where is now is, and that’s what they are working towards trying to establish as quickly as they can.” The Sun revealed British police still cannot get involved despite Warren's emotional pleas.
Wonder who this source in Tenerife is that has spoken to the Sun newspaper?

Since there is only one road out of there and the rest either ends in tall ridges or water, I speculate that:
- He could returned to the road and something happened afterwards - in this case, someone would have likely seen him while driving by, especially since they would have literally grazed by
- He could have been lost and died there in the ravines - in this case, I wonder if it's possible that there were no birds of prey noticed, I wouldn't know myself how they operate / how the process works (are there such birds, can they notice him no matter where he is, etc)
- He could have made it to the sea and fall into the sea or be swept away by the tide or waves - in in this case, possible that no-one and nothing saw him
- All other theories involve human intervention in getting him out of there in one way or another
JMO, pure speculation on possible scenarios of where he could have vanished without trace and being seen - imo only water
ETA or the tunnels underground (haven't read any info as to whether they have been searched and whether there are any entrances in those specific areas)

According to a new investigation by our sister site the Express, a link between Jay's case and Tenerife's network of cannabis club has emerged through Qassim

You can read the full investigation by reporter Zak Garner-Purkis below.
I did wonder how Potter Payper was able to open a cannabis cafe there? He is British and has a criminal record for drugs?
Seems his cafe is not a legitimate one?

Given that they're not actually releasing any confidential information, just making vague allusions to following up potential lines of inquiry, and given that it's the Sun, it could be literally anyone, or no one.

They know they'll never have to reveal the name of their "source," and they know they're never going to be held accountable for the quality of the intel, so the "source" could be the guy who delivers lunch to the police station. They just need to keep printing stories, and they'll pull intel out of thin air to spin them.

So if he mistakenly thought it was every 10 minutes, might explain why he set off to walk when it didn't arrive, instead of waiting till 10 o'clock?
That is what he thought but Qassim said he set him straight - ie told him they weren't every 10 minutes. Didn't say whether he told him it would be 10am.
