I'm a little slow getting here, But, as someone who suffers the occasional migraine, this is a bunch of dunky dust. The lights hurt your eyes, normal sounds are way too loud, you just want to lay your head down. You are not craving a peanut butter sandwich, you feel like throwing up. Also, this constant bantering with JM gives him more information to use against her now, and she is smiling and being so arrogant, like she is winning over him. This does not a battered woman make. MOO

Anyone who has had a TRUE migraine knows what its like.... no light, sound, touching, moving... she's be a ball on the floor in that courtroom. I've know people who THINK they had a migraine when it was either cluster headaches or just tension headaches... then got a real migraine.
If i don't catch mine RIGHT at the beginning, i'm down for 2 days and can't even have nightlight on... i have a sleep mask, blackout curtains, no sounds, EVERYTHING turned offf... and i try to knock myself out (no advil will work) and sleep thru it. No food either.
Poor baby has a little headache from all the spinning she is doing on the stand and Nurmi got scared. End of story. UGH she makes me mad.:banghead:

Exactlly. They can be truly disabling with severe ones.

Sheriff "Joe" has cost the taxpayers of Maricopa County millions of dollars in law suits that have been have brought against his office for mistreatment of prisoners (amongst other things).

I don't think the jailers have any responsibility to give her a catered lunch, but a sandwich of mystery meat, an apple and some milk (what the inmates get in the jail, if they are lucky) should surely be provided. I find it impossible to believe this has happened throughout this trial and the defense never raised it. And it sure is curious that this came to Nurmi's attention after the break. So, I'm calling BS on this.

She also enjoyed receiving pictures of penis

Am I wrong? I thought Jodi said she was working when she got the peni$ photo on her phone. Today she said she was at a dinner with a table of other people.

I recorded the trial's afternoon session. JVM said it ended early because Jodi had a migraine and court ended early. How early did it end?

By about an hour, give or take... And the lunch issue was resolved, MCSO agreed to provide JA with lunch (so not sure how/why KN's requirement that court end not a moment later than 4:30pm. We shall see).

We start a little early tomorrow 10:15am MT. A whole fifteen minutes...

How can she keep all her lies straight on an empty stomach and with a migraine to boot?

Presumably she had the same meal schedule during direct - but she got through okay.
I believe she might get migraines, and I know not eating is something that can trigger mine - but it would be a problem every day, not just today.

Why would her defense team not say something long before this? This is very convenient timing as far as questioning goes.

Catching up on footage now... you know on a personal level I loooove "bulldog" JM but honestly when he was softer with her in the afternoon at points she looked petrified because she didn't have the adrenaline rush and hyperfocus from aggressively sparring with him and enjoying 'getting to him.'

Yep - he is keeping her totally off balance. So much so, that she developed a malingering migraine.

Mr Pizza's words..

To me the biggest question was the change of weapons. If the shooting came before the stabbing as she claims, why did she put down a loaded gun to get the knife? If she were truly in fear for her life she would have pulled the trigger again and again until the gun was empty, followed by using the gun as a club. The only reason to put down the gun and get the knife was to mutilate her victim. If the stabbings came first, then after he was stabbed 29 times and his throat slashed ear to ear he certainly wasn't threatening her life, why then go get the gun and shoot him in the head? Again only to assure the death of the defenseless victim. So to me, the fact that both weapons were used indicate it cannot be self defense. There was either an intent to kill and mutilate or mutilate and kill with no other explanation.

Thanks Mr Pizza---I was thinking along those same lines. A knife is said to be an upfront and personal weapon and a shot to the head more of a cold kill (iykwim). Why the 2 different weapons.......I think the knife was her preferred weapon leaving the gun possibly for roommates or others. He may still have been moving or gurgling after the knife attack and she got scared and finished him off with the gun.[/QUOTE]

Exactly what I have thought all along. She butchered him and then shot him.

In a DP case it will go on for decades and drag families through the mud right up until the time they are executed , if it ever happens.

(snip).

This is why I won't be at all sorry if she only get LWOP. As I understand it (correct me if I'm wrong) there's an automatic, state-funded appeal in DP cases. But in a LWOP, she'll have to find an attorney willing to work pro bono, right? Or her family would have to pay for her.

In a previous thread, Hatfield said:
Lets kill 2 birds with one stone.....give her 1000 Advil for the migraine.

Don't be silly! No way they are giving prisoners Advil; generic ibuprofen, acetaminophen or aspirin, maybe, but certainly not a BRAND NAME (i.e., more expensive) pain reliever, unless they got a huge discount at the flea market because it was expired.

a few isues

1) why wait so long about not getting lunch?
2) why is this an issue when the jails only serve breakfast and dinner on court days?
3) Shouldn't the defense team know and brought this to the courts attention
4) Migraine? Yeah when I had a migraine I couldn't even open my eyes and was sick to my stomach

5) and lastly, If I wasn't eating and getting migraines then I would be crying my head off from being so upset..but again no emotion from JA

This isn't about lunch or a migrane. Nurmi felt he had to do something to stop Jodi's testimony, she was digging herself a deeper and deeper hole with her answers.

I think Nurmi just wanted to get her off the stand because JM was on a roll and was headed to make his big point for the afternoon. And the DT saw a way to get her off the stand early. JMO

It is fine though, because it gives Juan the chance to look over the transcript and tighten up his aim for tomorrow.

Thanks, I hope HLN didn't cut out the whole migraine thing with commercials. it sounds like most people here think it was a big act.

They showed a lot of it.

My husband timed it today--HLN goes to commercial every 7 minutes on the dot.

You do know that Coldpizza is a Dolphins fan right? She may be lovely, but why would somebody, other than CP's husband, want to marry her. :giggle:

It's on and football season hasn't even started get down get back up again

Bias tria

With all due respect, the Judge is still dealing with other cases *before* the Arias trial even starts at 1030 iirc moo

Correct me if I'm wrong....please

Maybe she needs to consider starting the Arias trial at 9 am and ending early, then handle the other cases. Capital trial I served as juror on, the jurors had to be in the jury room no later than 8:45 am. Court started @ 9:00 am sharp. Court adjourned at 5:00 pm. Five days a week. You would think that court time including the judge would be reserved for a trial with this importance. Other states do this and it works very well. Surely there are other judges who could be brought in to handle the other case loads. This is usually done in Capital Murder trials that are expected to run longer than usual. The constant start and stop of this trial is a drain on the jurors and very frustrating. The numerous days between the stop of testimony and the start of testimony makes the jurors forget the testimony already given. Very expensive trial the way it is being done.

I am a mirgraine sufferer as well, so I can totally sympathize with you and am sorry you had such a bad one today! I hope that once you got home you were able to lay down and take something to ease the pain. Migraines are the worst pain I've ever experienced in my 40+ years on this earth! Feel better!

Imitrex works miracles for me. I also need to make sure I eat correctly (no nitrates and no wine for sure) and make sure I have lots of water. Magnesium rich foods help too, I believe.

Personally, I think Jodi was faking migraine today. She certainly didn't appear to be suffering any pain up on the stand earlier today when she was sparing with JM!

I have not suffered from Migraines now for quite some time. I stay away from sugar and starchy carbs like they are poison (I am extremely glucose sensitive)
and
Started a consistent cardio and weight training regimen and have never looked back. I used to get at least 3 full blown - over the toilet lying on the cold floor in a dark room migraines a month and havent had one in literally years.

OK...I NEVER go off topic so bad so (ahem) I do have to say regarding ARIAS and her supposed Migraine....
When a person is caught in a lie, blood pressure rises causing in some people pooling of blood in head which causes headaches as well. Then if she has a bit of low blood sugar because of not eating THE FOOD SHE LIKES ahem....
she may have a headache....BUT NOT A MIGRAINE.

AS SOON AS i SAW THIS COURT DISMISSAL, I THOUGHT TO MYSELF....
"I'd have a migraine too if I lied so much and was CAUGHT lying over and over again" because of savagly killing someone I loved!!!!!!!

This is just my opinion only, and I agree with you completely, but it is highly suspect that they waited more than three weeks into the trial and chose to bring it up in open court when it was convenient for them to do so.

I highly doubt that their motivation was their concern for her welfare.

ITA. If it is true it should have been addressed immediately, instead of "holding" it till they needed it, which is my suspicion.
