But if they're so obviously disordered, how does that happen? Are their lawyers and the judge disordered to? Why doesn't anyone else see it or act on it? The OP was saying, as I understand it, that the disordered person makes life hell on the other person in court. But if they're so obviously disordered, how do they do that without the complicity of the lawyers and the court? That was my point. I have no doubt that some STBEx spouses will do "whatever" whether they're legit disordered or even sometimes not.

"Obvious" is a tricky term. These people have that 'superficial charm' which can go a loooong way with some people.

If you ever find yourself in the situation where you are fighting a PD'd person family court, don't tell the judge that the other person has a personality disorder unless you can PROVE that this was dx'd by a shrink - YOU will lose all credibility and YOU will be the one eyed with suspicion.

so what does martinez do about that? leave it hanging out there or ask her who's 'we'?

He'll get to it later, IMO.

Jodi is trying to gain control by throwing in extra pronouns and events, but Juan is being smart not to let her take that control from him. This must be obvious to jurors that Jodi wants to be in control of everything.

Juan is, in a sense, playing with Jodi's head when he doesn't ask "who's we?". He knows where this is going even if we don't. He knows he has to quell any jurors' doubts that anyone else was involved in the crimes. In the meantime, Jodi starts to sweat...well, not sweat because she only does that in a ffest, but still she's looking for clues to what Juan is going to pull.

This is extremely exciting, isn't it? I know some people complain it's tedious, but to be able to watch Juan dismantle the mechanisms that power Jodi is fascinating. BBM

:cow:

I'm not a roller coaster person at all but I thought I"d try that one so went with my 70something year old Dad and I loved it so much that I got right back in line and went again. For that exact weightless freefall you described there. It's amazing!

Yes I did finally get my naturethroid refilled after missing 4 days. Let's say that's the last time I"ll try that little biology experiment. Thanks for caring. :)

And back on the topic, I'm watching Dr. Drew and a. Beth Karas for President and b. Um Mr. Geragos it's kind of hard to take your criticism of Juan Martinez seriously as your "slam dunk" dunked straight in to San Quentin DEATH ROW Mr. Cocky McCockister.
I laughed at Geragos too ,giving advice to Juan, while his own client, who he swore was "stone cold innocent ", sits on death row.

Darryl Brewer's sister, Laura, lived there.. j.a. claims she wanted to go take photos of Laura's new baby, but couldn't get a hold of her.

We all know how mobile those brand new Moms are, flitting her and there, anywhere but home with the newborn in tow.

Sarcasm directed at JA, not you. :banghead:

My eyes are tired from seeing and reading so much sex, gas cans, ropes, we's, what don't you understands, am I right's, I don't know's ...... My brain is fried from trying to figure out wtf ACTUALLY happened. My ears are soooo deaf to dr. Drew and Fred Thompson tryin' to pitch reverse mortgages.
and
JA is no doubt layin' on her cot thinkin':
"After all, tomorrow IS another day"

Wow, I thought it was just me - guess it's time for me to go to bed and hope I don't dream about it.

Fred Thompson commercial....LOL!

:seeya:

Nope, most of what happens between the parties in litigation happens outside of court and is never known to the judge.

There are many ways to manipulate the system and use the legal process to create a continuing hell for the person they are opposing.

Many times in high conflict family law cases, the judge assumes it's both parties dragging things out and believes that both parties are equally invested in conflict and chaos, although that is often not the case.

This is way far OT, but the OP was talking about parties on the stand, iirc. Please feel free to ignore me. This was just one of those points that I see made from time to time that engages me. Not relevant to Jodi, necessarily, so I will drop it with apologies :)

There's no way MM went with her to the murder or was in the house with her with Travis or any such thing. She would have thrown him well and truly under the bus right from the beginning if that was true and LE would know. However, I think he knows something valuable and is going to spill - can't wait.

I'm still trying to catch up but.....

I don't think MM was there during the murder but I gotta feeling he knows ALOT about the burglary at the grandparents home...

He knows about the gun....just MOO.

I couldn't figure out what was going on with this remote......I now truly believe that this remote goes with the DVD player that was stolen....it just makes sense.

and the judge?

Depends. They start with the assumption that it's both parties acting up. Sometimes it is, but often it's not.

Many judges are also rather narcissistic as well IMO

Almost no divorce cases go to trial - it is very rare.

Thanks. Just saw the rental receipt. Cant tell if she turned in the car yet or if that was receipt before she turned it in. If it was truly before she turned it in, then yes it definitely is noted that car had smoke smell.

According to another poster who works in the biz, that receipt was from when she rented it - not when she returned it. That's what it looks like to me, but my knowledge of these kinds of transactions is very limited.

Did JM ask her why she filled up the gas cans in CA when she said it was less expensive in NV and Utah on direct?

Is it me or is Jodi getting uglier and uglier everyday. MOO

I think because a lot of lawyers need the money that comes with useless litigation. If they get a client who wants to harass an ex partner by filing endless motions, they might just do it for the financial gain.

It could be that Jodi is using the 'royal we' in referring to herself.

Some advice I read in a grammar book as a child has stayed with me. "Do not use 'we' to refer to yourself unless you are the Queen of England or have a tapeworm."

anything for a photo op!

i gooned up that information, anyway.... i'm about to direct myself to bed

Juan mentioned it, and she agreed that economically it would have made more sense to fill the cans up in Nevada -- but she did not explain why she filled up in California. She implied that her reason for the extra gas had changed but did not elaborate, and Juan did not ask.

I'm watching the 48 Hours outtake right now where she's talking about having been with Travis "the day he passed away" and how the man and woman blah blah blah and all her pauses, swallows, lip licking, uhs and other tells of her storytelling on the spot.

Honestly, viewing this, I do think she could have fared better with an insanity defense because in this she seems Pure T NUTS (nod to Freda Black).

Not that I think she is legally insane or it would work but a lay person with no other knowledge could look at that and just go straight to INSANITY.

I''m glad they didn't go with that defense.
