I don't know the context of that post. But she definitely absolutely did not admit to remembering putting his body in the shower after killing him. (The media would have latched onto that in a nanosecond.)

They did talk about whether she took a shower. And Juan asked her if it was the same shower she put TAs body in. She said yes. That's not admitting she remembered placing his body in the shower though. It's just recalling which shower she used when she showered.

Maybe I'm the one with memory issues now, but didn't he ask her if she took more than one shower and she didn't know/remember?

I always went with 'down the street', as in how she described parking the UHaul, but - she would be just as obvious walking up the street with all that baggage, and then back again after the murder. I suppose its minutiae, but I would like to know all details of her premeditation.

me too. Missing details like this bugs me. No reports of her rental being seen. WTH

And from what I recall her telling JM on the stand, she had about $80 to no more than $200 for that trip. Seems like she spent a lot more than that.

He did the math during cross yesterday and pointed out at in the Story According to Jodi, she was broke by the time she got to Travis'. Because of her BS about stopping for gas she didn't need twice en route to Phoenix. Paying cash and no receipts. Dear Lord...

Yes, I'm going for the afternoon session again.

I'm watching the testimony I saw yesterday on IS right now. The advantage you guys have that us in the courtroom don't have is watching her facial expressions up close. She is WAY far away from the gallery and my view of her face was obstructed yesterday but these expressions are a huge part of her testimony. It's so obvious she's a screwball and messing with the prosecutor and the jury and enjoying it. It's not as obvious in person.

I'll post when I get in there (hopefully land on the right thread this time lol). And my notes when I get home tonite. :seeya:

Hello Katie
Awhile back you mentioned when Jodi looks at the Jury that the Jury really is not looking back at her at all. Do you notice whether the Jury looks at her when she does that or is the jury still pretty much never looking at Jodi.

On TV, it seems when she turns to answer to the Jury it seems they are looking at her but we have no way to know.

Twinkies did they survive the company closing? :( I wouldn't eat Keith Richards if there was NO food left on this planet.

I've heard honey and pickle juice will also last forever but I don't want anybody keeling over because they took that to heart. So it's iffy on the pickle juice.

So o/t, but I can answer because of my kids. :) Twinkies are gone, but now Little Debbie has things called Cloud Cakes which are basically the same thing. So, to tie it in, I am glad we didn't have to hear about Twinkies in this trial...or did we? ;)

Reading in the court-watcher thread that there might be 2 female jurors who conceivable are still receptive to JA?

If true, is it likely the DT will be tailoring what is left of their case to target just those 2?

A very minor for example...Maybe they think so what if JA creeps out the male jurors when she openly laughs at questions relating to dressing up in school girl clothes, because the 2 female jurors are their only target audience and they think would identify with JA on this?

There was a subtle thing yesterday by JM that I loved. He's asking JA about the skaters and she talks about the "snickering" and says "yes as they were skating away from my car" and he goes with that sarcastic tone (subtlely) "rrrrright".

It was awesome. I just heard it again on IS.

Because it's really easy to see someone's expressions as they are skating away from you. Especially since she's nearsighted and couldn't even tell what the shiny rectangular thing was leaning up against the curb.

I'm watching Jodie testify again about the robbery at the grandparents' house. She is insisting to JM that she had her lap top with her and that's why it wasn't stolen. She always carried her lap top with her, she says.

She has completely forgotten that she told the police that the lap top was hidden in her hamper and that is why it wasn't stolen. Even when JM tries to remind her, even when he jogs her memory with the police testimony in court, she refuses to remember this, and thus, again impeaches her own testimony on the stand.

So--I'm wondering. What is it like living inside her head? She seems to think fhat she can just make up any kind of story about anything in the moment and that makes it true. She seems to either believe her own lies or be indifferent to them. She seems to invent her own reality, moment by moment.

What is this I am looking at? Is there a name for it? Can anyone explain it to me? I just don't see how she could have made it this far in life using this cognitive strategy.

One talking head said she contradicted herself 8 times on the stand yesterday. Those were the ones he was able to count.

IMO
Fortunately I don't know what its like in her head. Unfortunately I do know what its like living with someone eerily similar though so I'll offer this up, fwiw.

First think of psychopathy like your personality. You're made up of all bits and pieces and so is Jodi. For the most part you're good and rule abiding, right? ;) But every so often you can be naughty or do something wrong - which leads you to feeling guilty, embarrassed or perhaps even ashamed.

Jodi can't feel those emotions the same as you or I. She feels an insatiable anger almost constantly. But years of living with humans has taught her it isn't acceptable to show her anger and its level. She learns by default it isn't normal and though she can't feel guilt, shame or embarrassment herself she does learn that humans don't like to feel them. So she adapts because she has no other choice. She studies the humans around her and learns what joy, fear, heartbreak, loss, embarrassment and every other conceivable human emotion look like. She looks human. She sounds human. Everyone seems to believe she is human. So she learns at a very early age how to pretend to emote as a human.

Because of her psychopathy it only matters to Jodi what she wants and what makes her feel good. She cannot feel empathy or put others first for their own benefit. Everything in her world must revolve around her. She learns to manipulate and control in order to facilitate this. She is adept at it due to her psychopathy. In a way she is even 'programmed' to easily prey on others. No conscience and no empathy. The extreme greed and selfishness of only her really every mattering. She'll use every trick she can think of, engineer any event - all to make people more reliant on her, more trusting of her, more compassionate of her, more giving to her. Ultimately it is always, always about her.

As long as things go Jodi's way she can be affable and charming. Once she is challenged though she becomes a hotbed of psychological manipulators only designed to make humans feel bad and comply with whatever she wants. Either way they will often stop challenging her though - which is the important part. Push her further still and she struggles with keeping up the pretense of being human. When the mask slips on a psychopath even the 'worst' human traits can't describe them. It's beyond jealousy, vindictiveness or even rage. It's something so cold, so animalistic it sparks a flight response in humans. (You may not recognize what you're seeing - it is purely instinctual to get away from it for self-preservation.)

When Jodi is hopping all over herself on the witness stand we are witnessing her true disorder at play. Psychopaths just cannot withstand scrutiny and challenging day after day, while trying to remember their lies, and also attempting to maintain their facade. Because it is so foreign to how we humans feel it can border on incomprehension seeing them in that state. In reality when you look at it like a juggling act it becomes perfectly clear how difficult what she is doing really is - and how unfathomable for any human being to be capable of the same. We really are different species.

(Yee gatz. Sorry for the novel. Again. :blushing:)

Gotta run an errand and get back in less than 50 minutes! Carry on....
Katiecoo, keep us updated.

NO ONE is making eye contact with her. The only juror who seems to look at her is way back toward the gallery in the back row so no way she could be making eye contact and her eyes don't land on anyone specifically. Where she is looking, it appears, no one is even looking back. NO ONE looks at her as they walk in. And as she's Von Trapping on their way out, she has the exact same look she has as they file in. Like she's making some kind of eye contact with the back of their heads. It's actually kinda freaky.

Motive doesn't have to be proved, or even mentioned (unless Arizona has different requirements than here), but we all know that juries want one.

What do you think Martinez will claim in his closing?

So far, we have:

1. Wanted to go to Cancun (Jealousy)
2. Travis ended the relationship for good in texts (Rejection)

Anything else?

3. Revenge: She gave Travis all the sex he wanted and in every which way, and he took it but didn't consider her marriage material.

4: Rage/Malice: She wanted to make sure he could not have anyone else, and no one besides her would have him.

Yeah and I think somewhere around there he made the comment "so now we start with the memory gaps, right?".

Yep! I just watched it, so that's why I remember it so well. Certainly it would have left my brain by now had it been any longer. :)

And...don't forget she slept alongside the highway. Maybe even more than once. I cannot keep up with all her BS.

BUT JA seemed to feel secure when she locked the car doors.
It would seem she saw her way clear in sleeping alongside the road IF she kept the car doors locked.

She raced through a desolate desert from Mesa to Las Vegas in the middle of the night; BUT HAD HER CAR DOORS LOCKED.

JA claims these reasons are perfectly consistent and logical.

Then she corrects him and says it was rectangular when he said it was a square, yet before it was just a "flash" of light. She has to be right and smarter so bad she can't help correcting him even if it messes up her story. She looked so relieved when they called for recess in the middle of that.

Good thing they didn't ask Gus! He would have said it was a triangle or circle!:floorlaugh:
