I cut my viewing of the nonsense of Nurmi and JA....short yesterday.....it was sooooo boring and non relevant.......

So did I. Nurmi, and his obsession with sex talk, actually made me want to vomit. Sex was a dynamic in the relationship but, just like the murder, Arias has taken it into overkill.

I don't think the gun is the real issue for 1st degree. It's the cutting of the throat. That was deliberate and cruel. Along with the 29 stab wounds, 9 of which were his back. That means he was trying to get away from her. There is no passion in that. Minor is correct. Nothing in the legal sense here. jmo

I think the murder being cruel is needed for the Death penalty sentence after the conviction but the gun and premeditation (although premeditation can be proven since after she shot him, she KEPT going at it, imo) is what we need to get the murder in the first degree conviction. :please:

I mentioned before that I had daughters. They have not been following the trial as closely as me, but it is always on, so they have seen more than they want to. Here is my concern. One of them has been a victim of stalking. That is why she moved back home. Her tires were slashed, as were mine. Among MANY other things. When that sex tape was put on the screen in words, she said "He doesn't sound like much either". "That would be like me sleeping with Ben again after knowing he slashed our tires". "Why would he go back to a stalker"?, Then she said "that makes no sense."
I am just afraid someone in the jury will think the same way?
It just scares me that she might actually get away with this?

oh did anyone get a close up shot of her journal? And why was that orange part not originally shown last week? Is this the first time everyone is seeing that? TYIA

BBM: I highly doubt it. Correct me if I am wrong but didnt she slash the tires after that sex convo?

Sorry if this has been discussed.

Jodi wrote in her journal:

"Douse my mind in some kind of mental roundup, Kill all that is not serving me, eradicate....."
EXACTLY!! This is where she stopped reading and asked Nurmi, do you want me to stop there? of course he said yes!

I hope Nurmi is done today. Let's see. He addressed the following yesterday:

JA's fingers
Her presence at Travis' memorial
The sex part including the tape
Her journals (he's not done with this I don't think)

He has remaining:
Her road trip plans
The murder itself
Post killing

I think he'll be done today.

No, I'm not really worried about this. I think the jury will just see this as Travis showing very poor judgement and nothing more. (Let me just quote it and not repeat what I already typed out )

Based on everything we've seen from Jodi, the girl is a LIAR and a manipulator.

I can picture Travis going: "You know what? I'm freaking out over nothing! She explained it all, this girl wouldn't really harm me physically. And she's hot in bed!"

I mean, Jodi had no prior record. He probably ignored his misgivings and told himself he was blowing it all out of proportion. Who truely expects someone you've been sleeping with to actually want to murder you?

I wonder how much longer Nurmi plans on keeping her on the stand. It was so bad today that I actually enjoyed my dentist visit more than watching them. I just want to hear the jurors questions.

I know some of us take the Talking Heads with a grain of salt. Last night while watching, mostly all of them said they were so sick of her being on the stand. They are so over her...like most of us. I hope Nurmi wraps it up with her quickly. This is irritating and I am sure the jury feels the same. The longer he keeps her on the stand the more those feelings will intensify. Everyone has heard enough of her story telling and boy she tells a whopper.

I do have a question regarding the gun. Were there any bullets found in her moms home or grandparents home of the same caliber? Just wondering because than LE would compare if they were a match...but maybe would of heard of that by now.

even so,how does this tie to him being abusive? both consenting adults,SHE told us that they never done anything she didn't enjoy and when it hurt/was uncomfortable he stopped? and how does this give her the right to brutally murder him?

Not looking forward to Nurmi's expert witnesses.
I mean, you can ALWAYS find an expert that will tell you what you want to hear.

I sawthat yesterday after a poster here was kind enough to direct me to the photobucket that contained the journal entry. Those are very strong words....Kill/eradicate. Was this a veiled threat towards JA or anyone that she thought was interfering?

yes especially if the price is right.

what i look forward to is Juan getting a crack at them,i see him asking all the right questions and i can't see this person lying under oath,so all will be righted i my eyes.

i kind of just block out when nurmis talking and dub over it in my head of what i really want him to say :floorlaugh:

I just don't understand the fact that the DT wants her to have NO injuries from this attack.....seems it would help her claim if she was really injured.....she claims no injuries, cept a bruised skull (LOL).......if TA was going to kill her, she would have had more than a cut finger.....but no....she leaves there unharmed.....I can't wrap my mind around the self defense here.....sorry....I don't think the jury will either...

True. But why would they put their career on the line for her? :waitasec: Surely JM will crush them, and make them afraid to show their face anywhere in their profession ever again. They may get up there and say all kinds of wonderful things that go along with this lame defense, but they must remember that JM gets a turn. :gavel:

I'm no expert, but even I can see she is FOS!

Would you be so kind to post that link? I can't find it and I'd like to read the entire 2 pages please. TY

I'd be a bad juror.
Because even though we haven't heard everything from the defense, the prosecution was so strong that I've already made up my mind.
It doesn't help the defense that everything that comes out of Jodi Arias mouth is a lie either.

I don't think so. That phone sex tape was on May 10, 2008, and she killed him about 3 1/2 weeks later. His tires were slashed in Dec. 07? I don't know the date, but they were slashed twice and Lisa's were slashed once.

BBM
I agree that they haven't proven that she stole her Gpa's gun, beyond a reasonable doubt.

However I do think they have proven two other things, beyond a reasonable doubt. I think they have cast enough doubt on that .25 belonging to Travis, due to the lack of ammo, where it supposedly was, and other things. And I think they proved that she was not able to jump up there and grab a gun as she describes. So I think all of that goes together, to make a reasonable person believe, that she STOLE HER GRANDFATHERS GUN. Jmo

I would add one other thing to your reasoning...there is only one reason she removed that gun from the scene - it indeed belonged to her Grandfather. She made numerous efforts to remove traces of herself, even to develop an alibi - she simply could not leave a gun that belonged to a family member behind in the middle of her slaughter.

I've been digging through these threads and have been unable to find the vids of yesterdays testimonies. Anyone have the links to them?
