I'm sorry for his daughters. They must be brainwashed, conditioned, controlled. It's not going to be easy for them to accept their dad murdered their mum after being under his control all this time. While I won't be surprised if they continue to support him forever, I do hope that they can break free, get de-programmed, feel safe and move on with Barry free lives.

Don't forget we learned that barry was talking a lot of crap about Suzanne to the at least one of the daughters per Suzanne's own texts to her friend. Who knows how much gaslighting he did to those girls over the years. I feel very badly for them. I can't imagine what thoughts must be going through their heads as more and more evidence comes forward. We know how manipulative he is and without Suzanne around to defend herself, Lord knows what he's put into those girl's minds.

Barry went all Rambo threatening searchers off his land, but it's okay for him to send his agent unto the PP property despite all their no trespassing signs. They have a right to a secure perimeter, especially with a suspected murderer staying nearby. They took careful measures to protect themselves.

Barry decided that didn't matter.

A pattern of doing as he pleases.

I thought the chances of Kohberger taking a plea deal, were pretty low, but not zero.

I put the chances of ol' Barry taking a plea deal at negative 50% - no way, no how, not ever. What with Hurricane Iris who blew his ego up, enabled his $15M lawsuit in which he had the cojones to sue a bunch of people, knowing deep down he was and always has been responsible, and the fact he had the first case dismissed? Uh-huh. Never. It's outrageous, entitled behavior that doesn't plea.

As far as him potentially pulling a Fotis Dulos...those odds are a bit higher, but still less than 5%. And certainly not before trial.

Lauren's early report on the Wallibi® shows how farcical it was.

True. But they saw her side too, didnt they?

Up until she disappeared. Then the info came out about the affair and you can see how slanted barry could make things appear. We don't know if Suzanne kept things to herself about things such as his threats to off himself or jump out of a moving truck. I can totally see Suzanne taking the high road while barry would throw everything he could in order to manipulate them. She seems to be the more mature of the marriage IMO.

[…]

In an attempt to differentiate this trial proceeding from the last one, the prosecution mentioned that letters had been sent to all law enforcement agencies involved, reminding them about proper etiquette for public statements surrounding a trial.

Does anyone know WHICH daughter was there?
I’m not 100% sure but it does look like the older daughter, MM1, walking into the courthouse with the attorney. I know that MM1 lives just 2 hours North of Alamosa County up in Gunnison. Not sure where the younger daughter is currently living?

@osu I agree I think its MM1 - Mal. She is the one that was in college in Colorado that they moved in part to be closer to. Her name is still on deed for the small condo that BM bought her In Gunnison. Her name is also on the house in Indiana where BM's mother Shirley lives and maybe her sister MM2 is there too. The records are up thread. My bet is her name is on everything of value related to BM. She was and assumingly is the Fave daughter.

These girls have been programed all their life that BM is the best Dad and a "godly"man. He ran the show. I don't think SM confronted him alot in front of the girls until they got to Colorado - so MM1 would have been aware then ( SM told Sheila MM1 was aware). I suspect the second bout of cancer and BM's behavior towards her while struggling with her health and treatment was a clear wake up call to Suzanne.

Lots of wives cover for their husbands and acquiesce to their ways to keep the peace in the house while the children are around. But while doing so, they unwittingly send a false signal to the kids that everything is cool with them and life is normal. It can take those kids once they become adults - years, if ever, to figure out what is" dysfunction" and what is "normal".

I bring up Dr Dirk Greineder a lot, who killed his wife May/Mabel In Massachusetts 20 ish years ago. I lived about a mile away from them at the time.
Dirk was the perfect father according to the kids while meanwhile the wife confided in her sister that if she ever ended up dead it was her husband who did it. But Mabel "kept up appearances" as my mother would have called it. She even worked at his medical practice.

Dirk's three kids support their father's innocence until this day.

So, with Suzanne's girls so in tight with the father and his Barry worshiping family, I don't see the MM's getting any clarity about their father soon...if ever.

Do those of you who have followed many cases over the years, including grand jury indictments, assume that the public will not learn the details of the new evidence for at least one year or until the court case begins?

New info can come out in future filings.

Phew, thanks! Good to know that the wait won’t be so long. We’ve already waited such a long time for the charge.

OK, if you are a constant client in good standing, they can either reimburse and reship free of charge or help you some other way.

That is, when they had humans answering the phone. It is inconvenient now but in 2020-2023 their service was good.
Thanks, thats good to new. I will give it a try.

The last images I've seen they both had dark hair. The more curious thing is, why both daughters weren't there. I think this is the first time Barry's made a court appearance when both of them weren't there to support him.

Who is he smiling at? He looks like he is happy to be there.

Smile now, Barry. He won’t have much to smile about in the future.

I've been told by someone who knows the family that it was in fact the older daughter.

According to this report, he was smiling at MM1.

Reporter said all the evidence was turned over to the defense except for one witness transcript? Just waiting for a finished copy or something else?

I think the reporter got it wrong. I recall DA Kelley telling the Court they provided the defense all discovery except for part of the Grand Jury Transcript that was being processed and was expected to be complete within a week. Nonetheless, the State is way ahead of schedule pursuant to Discovery Rule 16!

Indictment by GJ does not impede a defendant's right to a speedy trial! Rule 16- Discovery is not abandoned.

Prosecutors must turn over such information within 21 days after your arraignment (though grand jury materials can be provided within 35 days after the indictment).

That smile was creepy IMO, not a natural looking smile at all, very fake, more like baring teeth. JMO

I'd be quite scared if someone 'smiled' at me like that. Esp if it was Barry.
