I think the brothers knew about the molestations too because IIRC all the kids were interviewed for the police report.

I'm referring to the parents and sisters already know he molested children and had a ' sexual secret' life . I don't know who knew about him cheating after marriage.

BBM, Knowing that he had a dirty secret in the past would mean someone ' COULD" have known he had a secret life. Sorry for the confusion.

I was watching some entertainment news program and the editor of People magazine was on. He was asked which covers sell the most copies. Amongst those he mentioned, the Duggars were very popular, especially the daughters, which is why they are featured. As long as people "crave" news of the Duggars, they will remain relevant IMO as they are a commodity for TLC, People magazine and others IMO.

Sorry I can't provide a link. I was rather surprised at what he said and wanted to share.

"Blanket Training" is very abusive, a baby needs to be able to explore.

And, there's no "war" against this family ; imo --- they've put themselves out there.
No one forced them to post public photos of their everyday life , down to the last molecule.

I've tried to stay away from this family's strange behavior... but the photo of little Israel's bruised eye is troublesome.

SMDH. What on earth did these parents tell themselves that justifies doing that to a 9-month old? And to post it on SM? If I did that CPS would be on me in a flash but these people get a tv show. I have no respect for any of the Duggars. Maybe CPS should visit the TLC producers too. :furious:

And speaking of abuse, if Michelle and Jimbo are allowed to adopt a baby I think my head will explode.

Huckabee still stands by the Duggars, not a surprise. What I did find surprising was the following:

"I never supported anything that happened to those daughters. I supported the fact that those daughters were maliciously and savagely abused not just by their brother, but by the news media who exploited them for their own purpose without regard for what it was doing to those young ladies."

He seems to be deviating significantly from the official party line, which has been that all that occurred was a little exploratory touch, outside of clothing, that the girls didn't even know it had happened until they were told by their parents, and anyway, they are all over it now.

For him to say (by way of defending his ongoing relationship with the parents and support of their actions) that this was malicious and savage abuse really calls into question the tepid response of the parents. And of course, his claim that Josh repented and changed his ways came before the most recent revelations.

I can appreciate his empathy for the family--not an easy road for any parent to trod, nor for any child to have experienced. However empathy ought not lead to complicity with denial.

Sadly these parents are only repeating what they learned from their own parents. And living an isolated lifestyle means that they were never challenged.

BTW--are Michelle and Jim Bob planning to adopt? I hadn't heard that?

There have been a number of Quivering families who have adopted children--particularly internationally, preferring third world countries without much scrutiny. Combine that with the Pearls discipline methods (which begin by "blanket training" infants using a rod), and the result has been some seriously disturbed children in need of mental health intervention have been beaten (or starved, or otherwise neglected) to death. Because the theory goes that if the first lick don't fix it, try some more. Their "disobediance" not cured and the families go further and further afield--withholding meals, placing children out doors improperly clad, always upping the ante to drive out the rebellious demons. And as the families tend to live in isolation, on farms, home-schooling, etc, the abuse continues until the end is tragic.

You know what pisses me off even more than the Duggar's themselves? TLC. They are knowingly paying people who have enabled and protected a pedophile. Disgusting.
