I guess this is supposed to put them in a good light - he was honest and she was informed and accepting, but, dang, I'm picturing what my parents would do in that conversation...I can hear the rubber from the car tires as they would speed away in the car with me.

Imagine trying to get any sleep when you have 6 kids and a pedophile husband. Maybe she will get some sleep while he is away although I doubt it because this is a real life nightmare she and her children are living. IMO

I don’t know her but I suspect that she wholeheartedly believes that what he did to his poor sisters was “just a mistake”. And then, I’m also pretty sure she doesn’t believe any of the other allegations. Cheating is her fault in their book, so she can’t possibly feel like he’s the problem. And then, she doesn’t believe he actually downloaded and consumed what he’s being accused of.

So, I’m sure she sleeps great at night. Because her sweet Josh would never, he’s innocent. She’s way too deep into the cult, I don’t think she has any way out to be honest.

I’m curious what, if any, charges could be levied against someone who knowingly allows Josh unsupervised access to children.

I think the couple he is living with have been ordered to not allow him around minors and Anna is supposed to supervise him with their children, but who ultimately bears the responsibility?

If he is found to be in violation of the rules does he get in trouble or does the person who wasn’t watching him close enough get in trouble?

My understanding is that if he violates the rules of his release, he definitely gets in trouble. Whether or not his guardians get in trouble depend on whether or not they facilitate him breaking the rules, their actual knowledge of a violation, and/or them not reporting him for a known violation.

So, he will always be the one in trouble, and they may or may not be, too, depending on their own actions or lack thereof.

Yeah I agree. It does seem odd that he wouldn’t know that or pay attention to what he was doing. But someone did it. JMO

I never watched the show. I am appalled that a camera crew was present at what should have been a very private, intimate celebration between a husband and wife, bringing their first child into the world.

In watching other shows I ask myself why are these camera people allowing the folks they are filming keep abusing the people around them especially filming with children. And most of the folks that are being filmed don't think they are abusing children in the mix.

It’s a very important podcast and well done in my opinion. I learned a lot about a subject I knew very little about. There isn’t much that’s hard for me to listen to but I found myself having to pause it and take breaks even if just for a few minutes. Thanks for bringing this forward.

I don't think that the truth ever came out about the extent of his activities, who he perpetrated on, his age, and what he did.

The reason I say this, is because I watched the TV special on this with Megyn Kelly and the Duggars. Megyn Kelly allowed the Duggars to "tell their story", and the minimizing, victim blaming, and justifications were epic.

The "story" was that Josh, as a 14 year old, was "curious", and touched his younger sisters while they were sleeping, on top of their blankets. After the girls told their parents this, Josh was sent away to do labor/construction work. He also had to confess his actions to a church member sheriff.

Afterwards, the girls were reminded to be more modest, and "Josh did not have to change any more diapers, because that is not for boys to do...".

That statement, in and of itself, told me, that a whole lot more went on in the house then the parents would admit. And, we can see based on Josh's particular interests, that much more probably occurred.

If he was 14, and there was a 5 year-old he abused, this definitely isn't a scenario between children of similar ages. Part of me feels anger toward his parents for not seeing this as something very serious, for which all involved needed in-depth counseling and help. On the other hand, calling the police on my son? Knowing the state of our juvenile system, could I do that? I don't know.

I have read extensively here and at other sites about the Duggar’s and josh in particular. It’s MOO that we only have documentation of a child as young as 5 which was one of his sisters. People have speculated about younger children, but I have not seen a link on that for proof.
