Was there actually a "flirty little pen fight" or are you being funny?

As we all know sometimes it's difficult to gauge the tone of a poster, e.g., sarcasm. These type of comments bother me at times, I can just see someone saying...."omg, Casey and Jose even have pen fights in the courtroom". Kind of how rumors get started or perhaps I'm really naive.

I'd love to see the video though. haha

Yes, it happened, I believe the Commissary was all out of licorice that day.

Thanks for the support!! I shouldn't mention things when I can't remember when it happened. I just know that it DID happen.

Yuck, it was one of her first appearances, I believe, after she actually had to be told she should appear at her own motion hearings.
Frrom what I remember, JB did not really think it was cute after a while-I think he wanted her to cut the crap.

She flipped her pen over onto his pad, not really throwing it but sort of a toss. With a great big smirk on her face. Very high school. She also smacked her hand down on he mike button the other day at her hearing. I always thought touching court equipment for an inmate was a no no.

Unfortunately there actually WAS a flirty little pen fight...in court. Sad.

Also,

:) :)WELCOME!:) :)

She is ON that mic-button I tell you what. She is scared to death someone is going to hear something. She is always the first one to grab that mute!

My friend Cat tells me that Judge Perry does not like cameras in the courtroom and sees them as a hindrance to justice.

I have been wondering what tactical advantage JB or CM could possibly have by getting rid of Strickland, when there was every indication that whoever they got would be stricter. Perhaps they guessed it would have to be Judge Perry.

And perhaps they were willing to go along with all the no-nonsense if it kept their client out of the cameras. This girl doesn't ever need to testify to make herself look bad. She does not present a sympathetic appearance in her many court appearances and they may not want her body language hyperanalyzed any longer. I cannot imagine that Perry will somehow reverse any rulings so I am still perplexed at why CM would think this was a good strategy. Unless it was simply to get her out of the public eye.

BBM...which could make KC furious-She loves the fact that the cameras are there.

Today, I am beginning to look at this a little differently....:waitasec:

Personally, I think this move may have very well been carefully and logically planned out.....BY CM......and pitched to JB. I think it is possible this "plan" is Part A of a very big "last hurrah" for CM...

Read speculation online last night that perhaps the defense was not hoping for a more lenient judge, but in fact, was hoping (and anticipating) a harder nosed judge who was NOT as flexible and "fair and balanced" as Strickland to give more wiggle room for possible future appeal.

There sure has been a LOT of discussion about how "fair" Strickland has been to the defense in order to close all gaps on the road that leads to appeal.....maybe THAT is their defense at this point!

CM is definitely in a class with very few other high profile attorneys (include Cochran, Shapiro here) and Baez, although claiming to be so, is definitely NOT in that class. This was a brilliant move by CM in my mind and is only the beginning I imagine.

CM very well may have pitched a deal to Baez whereas he had a "plan" to turn this entire case around....get the judge removed, new judge assigned and readdress all previous motions (without actually giving his plan away to Baez until deal was struck). Baez probably figured CM was going to work FOR him....

BUT WHAT IF what Baez doesn't realize is that CM is using this ploy to involve himself in one of the largest publix cases in Florida, catch ALL of our attention by his shocking moves (household name), while at the same time, setting himself up to be Casey's "best boy" in her eye's....as Baez is pushed further and further into the corner.....and eventually is able to manipulate Casey's emotions and personality to attempt to negotiate with the state to offer a plea deal to get this case closed.

CM would become a hero in the eyes of the public....for getting this derailed circus back on track and in the direction of resolution.....CM would be the hero of all local defense attorneys (except maybe Baez ).....but most of all, he will forever remain Casey's "bestest boy" for keeping her from death.

I have my suspicions on what direction this is going to take, and just like MD, I don't think Baez sees it coming....

CM is cunning and sly as a fox...make no mistake.

Baez is as naive as....well, a blogger with a penchant for barbeque.....

Oh, I do believe that CM sees this as his "last hurrah". However, that doesn't make it so for this legend in his own mind. From the brief general surfing I've done it doesn't sound like he's been that much of a winner (at this point I have no links, but I think it would be interesting to actually look at his record of defence). The guy is all smoke and mirrors, IMO, and it behooves us to look beyond that. His "performance" before JS pretty well defined what he's really about, I think, a moment that he lost spectacularly. Such bluster.

As for the second bolded paragraph, how does "hard-nosed" equate with not fair and balanced? I'm rather blown away by that implication. Just because Judge Perry is strict does not make him any less fair. In fact, I understand (again, generally), that his decisions almost never have been successfully appealed.

With all due respect, I think it would be a good idea to research the respective parties' records in court before assuming that some facets of their public personae reflect all the facts.

When the people from WS said something happened you can take it to the bank. Many, many of these folks can recite this case frontward and backward to you. They are aware of what has happened since day one. I on the other hand come in here and let them explain it to me in plain English (not my Texan version).:waitasec: The trolls are the ones that start rumors, then run away when they do not want to hear the truth from those in the know.

Here you go.
It's after the 8 minute mark.

LOL if you watch the bailiff while MN is at the podium ,she tells someone in the courtroom to spit out their gum and zip it. I had not noticed that before.

I am sure in her mind that is her job as her very own paralegal. I hope Judge Perry will make her realize that she is the defendant .

Typical KC. They are talking about the remains of her child and she is acting like a lovesick fool. I swear this girl is a piece of work.:banghead:

Yep, that will be the next persona she dresses up as. I can't wait to see her in "Casey Paralegal" mode and what she will look like, lol.

It's the first job she has had in many years and she takes it very seriously. She can now put on her resume that she was the 'Official Mic-Button Pusher' during her murder trial. She takes her job very seriously and pushes it extra hard to show what a good worker she is.

But it is hard for her to pull it off, looking official I mean, when she's not wearing her "para legal glasses". Or is this just another game, like the "sunglass game" in the bondsman's van. jmo

Yes, I saw that and immediately wondered if the Defense will get away with saying they have a conflict with that time.

Yes, I wondered the same!

I simply cannot wait to see Judge Perry in action with Jose. I know, I am silly. :innocent: But I just cannot help myself after what they did to JS I am really hoping that Judge Perry comes out swinging letting JB know right off the bat that he will not tolerate his frivolous behavior. Plus I want to see how he reacts to JB referring to him as "Judge" as he ummmmssss and so on....
