I could never figure that out either.

One other violation occured. After release from prison pg went up to KC at the table she was dealing cards at. When she called to ask if he had been released and report he had been there, shouldn't he have been picked up immediately for violating probation by crossing over the state line?

I wondered the same thing and mentioned it another thread. No info, so far. It would have been easy to find out if he was there. While Closed Circuit Tv wasn't as readily available in the 70's as it is today, I'm fairly certain that most, if not all, casinos had CCT and they could have used to this to prove or disprove his presence @ KC's casino. This should have been an automatic parole violation and he should have been sent back to rot, immediately. So, why wasn't he?
Also, does anyone know how long PG rented the storage unit that he took KC to? If not, is there any way to find out? When did his rental agreement begin, if there was one?

awesome point tizzle.
but im sure the prick would have just claimed the meeting was indaverdent

I remember reading one article which stated that KC "thought" that it was PG who approached her at the casino table. I think the Dateline interview made her appear far more certain that it indeed, was PG. She stated that she ran to a phone and called his PO (isn't that correct?) who was very dismissive, saying something like "He's a sick puppy but he's not gonna come after you again". How would this man know? Why did the PO not check in with PG to determine whether or not this could have happened?

This infuriates me. If this actually was PG, he should have been immediately sanctioned and re-jailed. I realize that PTSD can play strange tricks on people and KC surely would have had some other creepy run-ins with patrons at a casino, I would think. But a victim usually NEVER forgets the voice and intonation of their rapist. This leads me to believe that it really was PG. It also sounds just like something this monster would do. You have to wonder if he researched which casino KC was working at and waited for her to come on duty. It's not as if he lived around the corner. My guess is that he terrorized kittens and little children when he was a teen. He is the classic predator.

I think KC should seek damages of her own against the state parole office. Can you imagine the terror of that brief interaction? How did she drive home that night? I would think all her healing would have flown out the window in that one split second contact.

I think you're right for the most part, but remember, he used to live in S. Lake Tahoe, and Reno, which isn't far away either, so he may have been right around the corner at the time.

In the Larry King interview she said she called her pit boss, and they checked the person's ID. Apparently the ID listed as someone else, but she thought it could have been fake. In the Dateline interview she was saying something different?

She wasn't saying anything different in Dateline, but I don't think she talked about an ID.
She said the man knew her name and talked about not being able to do some things for 11 years, which would be consistent with Garrido who has been in prison for that long. I don't get the impression she is a 100 % sure the man was in fact Garrido but my guess is he very well could have been.

Bump for Katie. She really needs to be in everyone's thoughts and prayers today and through this entire process. She has to face a lot of dark places in order to do this for herself, JC and for others. She is the epitome of what makes us proud to be women.

Good video clip here. I hope she can overcome her guilt. She is a victim that was fearful and the ONLY people responsible for this are P&NG (and maybe PF), not her at all. I feel so horrible for her. Her grief is extremely evident. What a beautiful person for coming forward in such a way. Bless her wonderful heart.

Her statement of guilt is heartbreaking! She not only testified against him, but she reported him immediately when he showed up in Lake Tahoe at her roulette table. The parole officers were out of bounds at that point even, as he was supposed to be living with patricia or was in the 1/2 way house then. Either way, he crossed state lines and I am sure he did not inform his parole officer prior to going!

"What is the purpose of your trip to Nevada phillip?"

"I'm going to go frighten the living c*** out of the victim, so she can live in fear until I am caught for another crime"

"Sure, just don't touch her."

Ok I know this is crazy talk, and didn't happen, but that is how lacking his parole supervision (federal parole no less), was from the beginning. Sickening!

Thank you Katie, you are an inspiration!

and no one even warned her he was out........she thought he wasnt even eligible till like 2002.
its sad that the only people in this case that i've heard blame themselves for what happened to jaycee, are jaycee, and katie.
katie, it took a lot of courage to put him away. you did all you could do. LE failed, you, jaycee, all of us.
and it took a lot of courage to stare him down in court yesterday. i know she was still terrified, but she did it anyways.

The above link is to a wonderful article on the amazing Katherine Callaway Hall. It pains me to hear that she blames herself and is having to re-open these old wounds. I have so much admiration for this woman. While I would never, ever begrudge a survivor their anonymity, I am very glad that she has come forward to share her story and strength, and to show Garrido that he has not destroyed her. I hope it will be an inspiration to Jaycee, as it has been to all of us. I also hope that all the pain she is going through now allows her to process more of what she went through then and continue to heal.

By coming forward in the ways that they have, both Katherine and Jaycee have shown Garrido that he failed completely. His love is to totally dominate, subdue, and control women. Jaycee and Katherine refuse to go away and hide, and instead share their stories about overcoming his abuses. Even the survivor who was 14 when he kidnapped and raped her placed a call to LE in an effort to ensure justice was served. All are amazing.

Fantastic post!!!!! I hope that if there are any other victims they will feel compelled to come forward also!

I hope Katie is there to haunt and terrorize Garrido at every hearing, court appearance, and sentencing for what he put her through!!!:furious:
Katie you are an extremely brave and courageous woman and I'm glad Jaycee will have you at her side for support when she has to testify.

It drives me crazy that these hearing are repeatedly and constantly postponed by the defense lawyers after everyone is sitting there. It a repeated revictimization of the victims.

sadly this is the lawyers job.
especially in a case where the defendent is stone cold guilty and has no chance of acquittal.

That may be, but it does not make it honorable or right.

your preaching to the choir.
after the case i helped on 3 years ago my opinion sank to the lowest i've had of them since the oj trial.

Hopefully this thread will only be used for this purpose :)

Katie Calloway Hall was 25 years old when she was raped in November of 1976. She stated in her police report that Phillip told her he had done "this" twice before, once in the Bay Area and once in Las Vegas. There is no way to know for sure if he was telling the truth, but on the assumption that he was brazenly bragging and was telling her the truth, it's important to try and narrow down who he could have been referring to. I don't think he was referring to young children, as that would have been a very different scenario than what he was putting Katie through in his "sex pad". (Though he could have meant the 14 year old in Antioch, but perhaps not, as she wasn't abducted, she apparently got in the car willingly.)

The purpose of this thread is to try to figure out what possible adult victims could he referring to? If they are not dead, why aren't they coming forward? (Even the one that was at the time only 14 came forward .) So with the assumption that they are indeed gone, here's the only ones I've been able to come up with that fit the criteria of Bay Area & Las Vegas, between 1970 and 1976.

Christine Marie Eastin, 19, missing from Hayward since January 18, 1971. Blond hair, blue eyes. (not found)
http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/e/eastin_christine.html

Lynn Ruth Connes, 21, missing from Berkeley, May 20, 1976. Strawberry blond hair, green eyes. (not found)
(The picture of Lynn looks a lot like Katie when she was younger to me.) Also, PG seems to have some connection to People's Park in Berkeley, Lynn was last seen at a restaurant about a block away from there.
http://www.theyaremissed.org/ncma/gallery/ncmaprofile_all.php?A200300245S

The only Las Vegas person I found was much younger.
Geri Ann Ralston, 15, who's body was found May 22, 1975, she had been sexually assaulted and strangled.
http://www.lvmpd.com/bureaus/homicide_coldcases70.html

We might want to include Donna Ann Lass, 26, here also,
who disappeared September 6, 1970 (not found), even though it was in Tahoe not Vegas, of course PG could have said Vegas just to throw Katie off. (He didn't have that place set up just for Katie, after all.)

Let's face it, he could have been lying to her about the whole thing, but now seeing how PG's brazen, self-centered mind works, I gonna assume he was not, and in fact that he was having fun bragging about his other "victories" over women.

Has PG "killed anyone"? We don't know, but I firmly believe, he wasn't gonna just let Katie out the door when he was done with her. And I think, if not for that officer who was on the ball, she would not be here with us today and I'm betting she feels the same way. JMO

If anyone can find any other possible teenage or adult victims that are either missing or turned up dead from either Vegas or the Bay Area that fit the time period and I've missed, please add them to this post. Thank you.

Please note that the Bay Area victim may have been the 14 year old that pg held and raped. Not to say that there may not have been additional victims, but we know she was one for sure and from the Bay Area.

Sunnie, I already posted that above, that it COULD have been the 14 year old he was referring to.
