As a listed witness, the reporter or anyone else on the list, typically isn’t allowed to sit in court during trial proceedings.

And that, folks, is why they listed her as a witness - so they won't have to put up with her during the trial! Uh boys, she'll just wait on the court house steps for you! DUH! And it's not like Wesh won't send in someone else who willing be probably tweeting everything to her!

I'm waiting for Hal Boedecker, Marinade Dave, and Bill Schaeffer to be listed too. Lord.

Anthony’s lawyer Jose Baez said the TV reporter has relevant information to the case, and he plans to file a response Wednesday explaining to the court why he's adding these late witnesses.

First off, I wonder if Kathi knows or is aware of this relevant information that she holds???
Secondly...Baez should have known that he needed to EXPLAIN that in the Supplemental unless of course he wanted to SAO to file a Response against them...so it's in the Record

That is exactly what I was thinking. I bet Baez just wants to keep Kathy B. OUT of the courtroom during the rest of the trial. JMO

Yeah I think Paintr is right. I think they're just trying to keep her out of court and keep her from reporting on the trial. What a creepy way to circumvent freedom of the press. :maddening::maddening::maddening:

That doesn't make sense to me - the other stations have been just as rough in the last month as Kathy has ever been. And more consistently critical this past month also.

Why keep just Kathy out? It must be some specific information she has or they think she has. Didn't she do that Maya (sp?) expose a while back, because she is also one of the new witnesses they want to add.

I know we are having a good time with this but I'm pretty convinced to Defense move is to counteract Maya Derkovic's taped and televised interview, and the information in that, compared to Maya's deposition. From the manner in which Baez and Mason treat Kathi we know for sure she hasn't stepped forward on her own.

What a joke! Seriously.

IMO, not only do they want to shut Kathy up... they could request a gag order and make it so Kathy could not report ANYTHING on this case because she is a witness. They're being bullies. If this is allowed to stand... I am willing to bet that Kathy will never even be called to testify.

The only other reason I could think that JB wants Kathy on the defense witness list is so he can make Casey's trial into a trial against the Florida Sunshine Laws... but Judge Perry is not going to allow that to fly... so I think it is more like they are trying to make it so Kathy can not report on this case during the trial... and it is as simple as that.

That was my first thought, too, Aedrys!! They REALLY don't like Kathi Belich and her reporting. Maybe they are trying to come up with some ridiculous reason to add her as a witness in order to keep her out of the courtroom.... hence, nothing she can really report - well, not first hand anyway.

ETA: Guess I should have read all the way down... seems others have this same thought about the defense wanting to keep Kathi out of the courtroom!!
