3 in custody looking for fourth.

These cowardly copy-cats aren't too bright. Didn't they get the memo that cop-killers are supposed to commit suicide by self or by cop instead of running and hiding? Wonder if they are kids.

Witness on the scene, he walked out of home heard shots fired, cars chasing each other.

Officer was investigating a crime
was by themselves
have 1 or 2 poi in custody
it was an armed disturbance call
up to 4 people in the vehicle

One LEO responding to an armed disturbance call?
If dispatch was advised of firearm present at scene, I cannot imagine only one LEO responding alone, but IDK LE procedures.
But at virtually any call, LE may be faced w presence of guns and possibility of being shot & killed. Knifed & killed, etc.

I am grateful for the brave men in women in blue who respond to such dangerous situations.

Where armed disturbance call started at 2nd and Edgerton leading to KCK police officer shot. #BREAKING ^DM

Police just entered home where #KCK police shooting suspect is believed to be hiding out. ^SO

I am watching KMBC and the reporter said this started with two cars firing shots at each other.

2 people in custody, 1 person holed up in a home and another unaccounted for. Reminding this is a fluid situation.

Officers arrived within minutes. At that time, three or four people bailed from the car.

An officer took one person into custody near there.

Shortly before 2 p.m., an officer attempted to stop another person. Multiple shots were fired and an officer was hit. Police were advised that an officer was down at 1:58 p.m.

The officer was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Police are searching the area for others who were involved. One person is in custody.

Wonder if the "shoot-out" between the two cars may have been designed to lure officers to the scene.

Gang? drugs? turf?

Could be. But given that it sounds like at least 4 people were involved, might they have been in cahoots to just start firing their weapons at nothing to get police called to the area, specifically to kill them?
