I figured it had to be the son. He didn't want to have to deal with the animals so he killed them too. A stranger wouldn't have noticed or cared.

probably hated the animals as well as his mom. I haven't been able to tell from the articles so far but wondering if he was a failure to launch type and lived there with her.

So he was found incompetent to stand trial on 9/11 and then on 9/12 there's an order for a competency evaluation? Am I reading this wrong?

It sounds to me like the defense asked to continue this hearing. So I guess while he is in jail he'll get another competency evaluation & be back on 12/18 - so giving a month or so to get sane... ;)
