I've not seen anyone mention the fact the BF had NO injuries, yet he fired first. Has no one else thought he used Breonna as a shield? pushed her as he was getting out of the way? Did i miss that being mentioned?

This was discussed extensively earlier or mid-way in the thread. Best to read the entire thread for answers.

Louisville Maj. Kimberly Burbrink inserted herself into the Breonna Taylor case, "pressuring" and "cross-examining" investigators. But it goes deeper than that. Burbrink and Brett Hankison have history together and the major has family ties within LMPD.
Burbrink commands the Criminal Interdiction Division. Officers from her division requested and carried out the warrant for Breonna Taylor's home. Her officers fired 32 shots into the apartment. But yet, she was allowed into a meeting about the case.
In 2008, Brett Hankison was among a group of officers that raised an internal investigator's suspicions. Also in that group? Burbrink, as well as Lt. Shawn Hoover, who was among the seven officers serving the warrant at Breonna Taylor's apartment.

Public Integrity Unit investigators were concerned about including Major Kim Burbrink on a call discussing their Breonna Taylor investigation. She was included over their objections and "took opposition" with investigators in what they described as a "cross-examination."
Burbrink later "provided the involved officers an update" — and then-interim Chief Schroeder apologized for her inclusion in the call.

It was mentioned early on in the case that Walker was selling drugs but then I hadn’t heard anything else about it
KW was never on the warrant, he was never charged with drug dealing and IMO until LMPD went through his phone without a warrant they cannot use this in court as it appears this could be considered fruit of the positions tree. Unless there is evidence that a warrant for his phone info is provided that they had no legal reason to search his phone.
I have no idea if he was or was not using weed or pills, but from what I have read I think this is being put out as character assignation, we will see if they file charges against him.

I don’t understand why I judge would rule a grand juror can publicly speak about ANY case! I thought the grand jury records are always sealed. I thought what happens in that room stays in that room. I testified before a Grand Jury and would have been horrified if info about it was released.

'An encyclopedia of police incompetence': Breonna Taylor case exposes array of LMPD errors
The litany of errors shows that the March 13 police shooting of Taylor in her home was more than the result of a few bad apples, according to Samuel Walker, who reviewed The Courier Journal’s summary of investigative documents made public over the past two weeks...
It reveals "systemic failures" across LMPD, as well as “a pervasive failure of training, supervision and management," said Walker, an emeritus professor at the University of Nebraska Omaha's School of Criminology and Criminal Justice.
The list may prove long. Records in the Taylor investigation alone show an array of police mistakes and policy violations in the case:
  • First, a detective included false information to obtain the warrant for the search of Taylor’s home. Judge Mary Shaw, who signed it, now says she worries he lied.
  • Then, the Criminal Interdiction Division, which was to execute the search, didn't tell the SWAT team, which could have assisted or consulted on strategy.
  • Intelligence provided in advance of the search suggested to some officers it was a "soft target" because Taylor would likely be there alone. They had no idea Walker was there, or he was armed.
  • The officers that battered their way in after midnight say they first announced they were police. But only one of a dozen neighbors said they heard it — and that witness initially told police the exact opposite.
  • Neither Mattingly nor Cosgrove appears to have properly identified their target before they fired — or took into account what was behind their target that their bullets might hit.
  • Hankison, who ran outside, sprayed the apartment and an adjoining one with gunfire, shooting through a window and glass door obscured by curtains — an act for which he was later fired. He is appealing.
  • After the shooting, two of the officers wandered through the crime scene and Hankison appears in body camera footage to have questioned other officers working the scene, at one point stepping into Taylor's apartment. Those actions were in apparent violation of LMPD policy...

So if all Cosgrove saw was flashing lights and a shadowy figure, the flashing lights must have been the gun fire from his brothers in blue, Mattingly and Hankinson and according to his own testimony he did not see anything but darkness and flashing lights, and the ballistics report shows he fire the shot that killed Breonna why were no charges considered for him? He says he had no line of sight and saw a shadow figure in the darkness so here is what he have according to the released recording by officers and the PIU officers.
1. Warrant contained with "issues".
2. The Judge who issued the warrant also has issues with the info she was provided.
3. Glover was already in custody and LE knew that before they hit a "soft target" at 12:30 at night.
4. Mattingly had also confirmed with the Postal Inspector that no "suspicious packages" or packages for 2+ months for JG had been delivered to BT apartment.
5. The first narrative the officers on site gave was that Breonna was shooting with a long gun or Ak rifle at the officers and that was never true and that narrative fell apart quickly.
6. Cosgrove now admits that he did not have line of sight before he fired 16 shots into an apartment that he could only see a shadowy figure and flashing lights (his words not mine).

These are just some of the high points and all can be found in the recording that I posted upthread.
Because it was deemed self defence as they had been fired upon with one officer down.

"Anonymous Grand Juror #1 submits the Attorney General cannot choose to part from the rules in disclosing information and then use his position to prevent others from responding to his misleading remarks," the filing says in part.
The way Cameron has handled the case filed by Anonymous Juror #1 and made public disclosures about the grand jury procedure "makes it overwhelmingly clear it is his position he should be allowed to discuss portions of the grand jury proceedings that were not recorded but no one else should have the same ability, no matter how inconsistent his public statements are with the actual recordings," Kevin Glogower, the grand juror's attorney says in the court filing.

I thought they already dropped charges against him or are you talking about new charges?

Looks like ballistics has confirmed it was Walker's shot that wounded Mattingly.

There is a lot of information in that article. Thanks for posting it.

IMO her association with her former boyfriend led to the tragedy.

. Police documents show Taylor bonded Glover out of jail for two cases in 2017. Glover had been listing Taylor's apartment address on Springfield Drive as his residence as recently as Feb. 20, according to a police summary of the case. Detectives obtained his bank records, where he also used her apartment as his mailing address, according to police documents.

PIU file: Former chief was told conflicting stories the night Breonna Taylor was killed

Former Louisville Metro police Chief Steve Conrad described conflicting stories and a "paranoid" Brett Hankison during his interview with the department's Public Integrity Unit following the death of Breonna Taylor.

Conrad was fired from the department in June after another officer-involved shooting. Hankison was fired in July for "blindly" firing 10 shots in Taylor's apartment building the night of the incident.

Investigators did not find a rifle in Taylor's apartment. The only gun recovered was a Glock-43 registered to Walker.

Breonna Taylor's boyfriend, Kenneth Walker: "I'm a million percent sure" police didn't identify themselves

"It was dead silent in the house," he explained to CBS This Morning co-host Gayle King. "And it was 12:00, 1:00 at night, or whatever time. So it was — it's always quiet. We live in a quiet place. So if somebody was on the other side of the door saying anything, we would hear them."

When pressed if he was certain, Walker said "I'm a million percent sure that nobody identified themselves." Walker, a licensed gun-owner, said this is what caused him to open fire.

"That's why I grabbed the gun. Didn't have a clue," Walker said. "I mean, if it was the police at the door, and they just said, 'We're the police,' me or Breonna didn't have a reason at all not to open the door to see what they wanted."

No drugs were found in Taylor's apartment and Taylor's ex-boyfriend, Jamarcus Glover, has said Taylor had never been involved in any drug trading.

"That's why I never thought it was the police. Because why would the police be coming here?" Walker said.

Well it appears the telephone caller to JG clearly knew why when she told him he was the reason she got killed. Perhaps Walker was completely unaware of JG and his involvement with Breonna, but I seriously doubt it. It seems to have been common knowledge and Breonna knew about the trap houses too. Not sure if Walker was aware of any of this though. MOO.

ETA I thought I had read somewhere that Walker was a USPS worker. It confirms it in this article.

Kenneth Walker, boyfriend of Breonna Taylor, sues police and city of Louisville for immunity

The couple was asleep when the officers allegedly tried to break down the door, which prompted Walker, a USPS worker, to get his licensed gun and fire at the door, according to the lawsuit.

The officers returned fire, killing Taylor, 26, an EMT, in her sleep and no drugs were found in the residence, police said. Mattingly was struck in the leg during the incident, according to police.

Taylor and her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, got out of bed around midnight on March 13 when they heard a commotion outside; after a short exchange with police, Walker claimed he fired his gun in self-defense, saying he thought the home was being broken into, according to police.

The plainclothes officers returned gunfire, firing several shots and fatally hitting Taylor, police said.

The charges against Hankison, who fired 10 shots into Taylor's apartment, stem from the errant bullets that penetrated a wall of the residence and entered a neighboring apartment occupied by a child, a man and a pregnant woman, Cameron said.

Attorneys for Hankison and Walker had advocated for the release of the grand jury transcript and evidence connected to the case. Walker's civil lawyers filed a successful motion over the weekend to have the evidence collected by LMPD's Professional Integrity Unit released to the public.

I hope they release the transcript, IMO its the only way the community can be at ease the case was presented properly. Healing cant begin until all the facts and evidence are available to the public
