On Aug. 13, Jason Floyd, the attorney for Brooks Houck’s grandmother, Anna Whitesides, confirmed that a cheek swab and hair samples were also collected from his client.
In June, Whitesides resisted a subpoena to testify before a grand jury regarding the details of a white Buick she owned. Whitesides sold her Buick to a dealership in Louisville, but it has since been recovered and was examined for forensic evidence.
On Aug. 18, a search warrant was executed at Whitesides’ home at 730 Pulliam Ave. in Bardstown. Agencies searched the home for vacuum cleaners, cleaning supplies that could be used to clean a car and any documents related to the trade-in of a white Buick for Whitesides’ new vehicle, a white Mazda. Officers could be seen taking away vacuum cleaners, shop vacs and papers from the new car’s glove compartment during the search. Later that day, Commonwealth’s Attorney Terry Geoghegan confirmed Nick Houck’s home on Whitesides Road was also searched.

Lots more photos of the search and showing the vast area, and different terrains, as well as the obstacles police are facing. So many places to hide a body. Hopefully the dogs were helpful in narrowing down the search area.

All I see in the water is a whole bunch of surface algae and a diver wading through it.

It's totally unbelievable that Brook Houck shows up at the farm to feed the cows as LE is searching it. He must be just as much of an arrogant narcissist as we all believe him to be. Apparently he enjoys toying with the cops by walking around in front of them as a free man, daring them to do something about it. He even brings his kid along as if it's an entertaining sideshow for LE to be searching the farm trying to find his mother's corpse. I don't know who his new girlfriend is that was present with him.....but she might want to watch her back. I can't imagine any woman getting involved with a man who is suspected of making his last girlfriend disappear from the face of the earth, but I know it happens. Some people have zero self-esteem and even less common sense.

During the search, Detective Snow said the farm is where a "crime" involving Rogers is believed the have happened when she disappeared.

"I mean, I felt that the whole time. Whether they find something on the farm or they don't, I still feel like that's where it happened," Roger's mother, Sherry Ballard said.

Investigators believe that Crystal Rogers is no longer alive and that the crime happened on the farm.


So if she was killed on that farm did any other family members witness what happened?

After Wednesday's search ended, Det. Jonathan Snow with the Nelson County Sheriff's Office said, "I feel confident that we will end up at trial with the case."

Crystal Rogers parents Tommy and Sherry Ballard were emotional learning investigators believe this case will go to trial.

Snow says he is waiting for results from the lab. He does not anticipate returning to the Houck farm.


Maybe they have enough evidence to start turning the brothers against one another.

You might be surprised at the number of wells on a farm. We are a couple hours south of there, and we have two well plus a spring that I am aware of. We have a well by the house and a well by the original barn. We are only on 69 acres, so they are searching a much larger place. If there are multiple homes as well as multiple barns, there could be a well at each building location.

The good news is that it both looks and seems like they are being EXTEMELY thorough in the search process. To see divers doing a shoulder to shoulder search through all that muck says it all. They are serious and literally leaving no stone unturned. God bless them!
