Somewhat disappointing b/c it sounded (before) like the public was not in danger. And I thought they had a poi at the very least.

But, if there's a manhunt in the works... I'd say the public NEEDS to be on the lookout ; and if this perp knows they're searching for him/her -- they have nothing to lose and are very threatening !!!
Just sounds a bit weird.
Imo

hmmm, isolated incident, no ongoing threat...?

Just was posted to the Allen County Sheriff's fb page:

A message from Sheriff Jeff Cooke:
I would like to let the citizens of Allen County know that our children are safe going to school. This terrible tragedy is being treated as an isolated incident and we do not feel that there is an ongoing threat. I understand an arrest has not been made in this case but we must remember that the investigation is progressing quickly and aggressively. The Allen County School System has resources on hand to help students in coping with this tragedy. I intend to increase police presence on the school campus just to reinforce that our children are safe. The Allen County Sheriffs Office mourns with the Doolin Family. My door is always open for any thoughts or questions. "In God we trust."
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Any other helpful information can be passed on to KSP Det. Wes Medley or Det. Adam Morgan. 270-782-2010

Today we had a doc. appt. and left driving through a subdivision in front of our farm....There in the next driveway on the highway was a state trooper sitting in his vehicle. I felt then, that they are looking for a particular person, because they certainly wouldn't be wasting man-power on speed traps during this time, in this tiny community.

I too want to know the details of the circumstances that she disappeared under. Like you, I wonder if she went to the restroom alone or maybe to buy a snack at the concession stand alone. I highly doubt somebody snatched her from the stands while she was sitting next to her mom. Not blaming the mom/parents or whoever was there with her, I am just curious as to what the circumstances were that gave whoever took her the opportunity.
Just getting caught up on reading, but another possibility is that her mom left her in the stands and told her to stay there and she was taken. Hopefully, if that is what happened someone would of seen Gabriella leave with the person.

I agree they are likely looking for a particular person. IMO, "manhunt" implies LE are looking for a specific person or persons. I had suspected, like others, a male teen but if the POI is on the run, makes me think the person is older -- at least 18, with resources to hide. LE's assurance that no one else is in danger suggested that they have been closely monitoring someone -- possibly several people since they said they had a list of suspects. Possible they are looking for more than 1 person now. MOO

"We can't discuss suspect information at this particular time," he said.

Though hundreds of people attended the football game, Eaton said police had interviewed, at least briefly, the majority of those who were at the event. He asked that if someone was at the game Saturday and hadn't spoken to police, to please contact the KSP.

It doesn't sound like that's what happened. The mother said she lost Gabriella in the crowd, not in the stands.

The simplest thing for the killer to do would be to blend among those who were immediately looking for little Gabbi....
I am thinking they got the names of everyone they could who attended the game Saturday evening...

One of the early reports (may have been from Cooke) referred to the perpetrator as a male . . . . Referred to the person as "him". Maybe someone can find that and post it.

I have no doubt we are dealing with a male...I am thinking a young male.

I haven't had a chance to read all the posts today, I'm sure you guys are thinking what I'm thinking. This must've been another kid who did this, some freak accidental thing, or something. It has just been too quiet. I'm a local and there is nothing being leaked out.

No, that's not what I've been thinking at all. That would be an awfully fast "accident". I have doubts that a teen could have done this in such a short time.

I am local too and it is stone quiet, even though we are all on "pins and needles" praying this monster is caught...It is probably very wise that everything is silent and LE can do their job. The only way I could see this being an accident would be if it happened in private and that doesn't add up to me....If she was playing with friends and had an accident, it would have been out in the open.....Not in some secret place.....

We've seen a teen do this in this short of a time. We don't have a precise timeline.

How long did it take her parents to get to the announcer? 5 minutes?
How long did it take them to call her name 3 times? 15 minutes?
Did they wait 5 minutes each time they called her name?

She was found 25 minutes after being reported missing. (To LE correct?)
She wasn't found 25 minutes after she WENT missing.
We could be looking at an hour total here.

Many have been killed within an hour.
Almost all were the perps first murder.
Some were teen killers. It is totally possible.
It only takes a few minutes to kill a child.

Nancy Grace just did a short segment on this case at the end of the show. A doctor was on and said if she was found in water there may be some adverse effects to any possible evidence, they will be looking for threads & footprints. A reporter said there were 300 to 400 people there, they are check CCTV footage and parking lot. About 25 sex offenders in the area. It would be a sadistic sex offender according to physiologist. Transcript should be available later.

Edited to change physiologist to psychiatristdarn spell ck.

It always helps to Google, "Rape and murder from Scottsville, Kentucky"

People can post and reply under different names in Topix. Now the person who stated other gross findings supposedly from the autopsy or maybe being at the scene sounds like they are just fishing for a response.

But I must admit. The best way a female can make you think that a male did the killing of a female is by repositioning certain clothing items.

But at this point we don't know if the clothing has been even messed with. Was it cold that night and was she bundled up?

It was cold Saturday evening. You would have needed at least a jacket or more.
