To Note: Kandi was last seen wearing a pink one piece romper outfit. So she’s not really prepared for being out in the elements with what she was last seen wearing.

The forecast continues calling for rain.
A chance of showers and thunderstorms off & on through Friday; then slight chances of rain through the weekend.
Temperatures averaging around low 80s (H) - upper 60s (L).
 
PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) -Kandi Green Gonzalez has been missing since June 1, leaving a family to search for their loved one with nothing but questions.

Gonzalez was last spotted in the back yard of a home on Abbott Creek Road, after the people on site recorded an interaction where she wandered around the property before asking them to call her mother. They called, getting her voicemail, and leaving a message that Betty Dixon will never forget.

“She said, ‘Your daughter is here and she says you’re her mother and she wants me to tell you that (her boyfriend) threw her out,’” Dixon recalled. “And I could hear Kandi saying, ‘Mom! Mom! Mom!’”

With that voicemail and a collection of videos, Dixon was able to piece together the interaction in the yard. And though she says it was hard to tell if the events were aimed at helping her daughter or taunting her, the family is just hoping someone can help piece together the rest.

“And apparently there were people in a truck or something- young boys- and they were taunting her,” Dixon said. “So, it’s like she doesn’t know where to turn or what to do.”

Footage Dixon acquired showed Kandi “visibly distressed,” before running through the yard and into the creek.

“Her shoes were found two days late in the creek. That’s the last anyone has seen her,” Dixon said. “She wouldn’t just go missing.”

She said, though there are many rumors and stories about what happened and what Kandi’s state was at the time, one absolute truth remains: They want her home.

JMO, I feel like being distressed & upset after getting thrown out (whether from your house, vehicle, etc) by your SO is a realistic reaction.

Her being distressed may have even been heightened by the truck of teenage boys taunting her on top of the event w/ her bf.

Collection of videos make me think one than one.
And I’m curious to where these videos came from? Different homeowners? A specific person videoing the event?

Just the thought of already being upset and then being taunted by a group of ppl, makes me really sad for Kandi. How scared & upset she must have felt when all of this was happening.

I can't see how it would have led to such a catastrophic meltdown?

It would also make me think that this relationship was not in the best shape or even the right place for Kandi.

If there was an argument, why couldn't she kick him out? Does he have previous DV tendencies or history?

What did he do or say that was so horrific she couldn't stand up for herself and was running around in a fugue state not knowing what she was doing or where she was going?!

She seemed to have an altered state of consciousness and it makes me scared for her.

I just wish the people who phoned her Mom could've tried to calm her down and called 911 to help her.

Why didn't the people who called her Mom let Kandi use the phone herself? Was it a landline and they didn't want to let her into the house? If a cordless phone, she could have used it on their front porch. She could have called 911 if she felt threatened, had they let her use their phone. She had to have had her wits about her enough to give the people her mother's phone number.

I'm thinking that it was the boys in the car who made the call and recorded the video? I'm a bit confused.

The still photo of Kandi that’s been shared is of her in the homeowner’s yard. She asked the homeowner to use their phone. Instead of giving her the phone to make the call to her mother, the homeowner made it for her but it went straight to the mother’s voicemail. As they were leaving a message on the mother’s voicemail, Kandi ran off into the woods behind the house.
My understanding is being chased and taunted by the group of teenagers occurred right before the encounter with the homeowner. Possibly the collection of videos came from the teen though.

I also wondered why the homeowner didn’t allow her to call her mother herself?

Maybe it was a landline as you suggested.
Possibly an elderly homeowner who didn’t feel safe going out to hand Kandi the phone?
Maybe the homeowner witnessed the teens taunting Kandi as she ran into the yard; they were being cautious because they had no idea what was all going on?

The homeowner did EXACTLY as the MP asked. Rural location. Frankly sketchy-looking person (and the homeowner does not have ANY backstory as to why) running around my property. I would have done the same and not put myself into danger. Let's not second-guess a person who tried to help given the information he/ she had to work with.

I don't think anyone is second guessing! I'm confused about the logistics of the case - where were the boys, where was the video taken from, where did she disappear to?

I'm thinking the 'still' photo that was shown is a screen shot from a video maybe? I would also assume from the wording that there were several videos of her taken.

I can understand her being upset if she was thrown out of her car or house. But it would also seem that she was in a SUPER stressed state, which would lead me to believe:

1. it was either a pretty bad altercation, or
2. there is a history of DV, or
3. she has mental illness history, or
4. All/any of the above.
