Crews search for missing man in the Red River Gorge
Crews are searching for a missing man in the Red River Gorge.
Hern is a 48-year-old man, has green eyes, light brown hair, and weighs 275 pounds. He is 5′9 and what he was wearing at the time of disappearance is unknown.
He was last seen by his family in Ironton, Ohio on July 4th.
"The last communication that Mr. Hern had was July 5, and it was by text messaging," said Wolfe County Search and Rescue Chief John May.
The vehicle of Scott Allen Hern was found on Saturday, July 6, in a parking lot on Highway 715 in Red River Gorge.
Tips from the public to the Wolfe’s County Sheriff’s Office was that on Saturday, Hern was seen asking for directions on how to find the Sal Branch Waterfalls in the forest, but that the information wasn’t 100 percent confirmed.
