Just a question..if she were put in WB with the bike....and the current took her away...where does that water take you?

I don't see a local jumping in, but after a merge with another river, eventually dumps into the Gulf of Mexico.

Maybe a local person can offer some insight about all the twists/turns/bayous on that path.

Three...number of vehicles used in this crime...Silverado that was stolen/burned, Aveo rented & new truck purchased before arrest.

I can think of another 3 - great police/detective work + tips from the public + his stupidity :rocker:

I didn't see this - can you find a link for us? I'd like to read it - it doesn't make sense (at least I don't think it makes sense :blushing: ) but maybe it was worded differently. Thanks!
"Special K-9’s Jana Bickel said she was glad to learn an arrest was made in the case."
" However, she said, they also detect blood and since the area is a sort of fishing camp, they may have alerted on where a fisherman cut himself or some other injury that drew blood. "

Also I hadn't seen this one....

"Our hearts go out to the Shunick family. You know, it’s obviously distressing for anyone in a church to discover that you have been attending church with someone who has committed a major crime."

Please remember there was initial conflicting information on the date the truck was reported stolen in Montgomery Co. It appears now that May 31 has been confirmed by LPD.

Okay, this is what I thought all along...
The only thing that happened on the 26th is the bike being found, as far as we know.

I am confused about to whom he reported it stolen-was it LE in TX? If so, then he was obviously acknowledging being in TX.

Also worth noting: Whiskey Bay, the Atchafalaya Basin, Bayou Teche, and just about every other body of water around here is chock-full of alligators.

Gosh sounds like the pastor doesn't believe in innocent until proven guilty, by that statement.

Yes. Reported in Montgomery Co., TX. Found in San Jacinto Co., TX

And an unconfirmed report of his insurance claim rental car in Spring, TX, which is Harris Co.

I'm pretty sure that all evidence must be released to the defense before the trial, but I'm not sure exactly how long before the trial they are required to. Many guilty suspects have had their convictions overturned due to a faulty prosecution withholding evidence.

I just think it is baffling about the advertiser however... Here they are, demanding all local businesses to review footage of that night. All the while they possess the "key" footage to BSL's arrest. Not to mention, how strenuous all the local media teams were on LE and our search efforts early on. I suppose that we should be thankful that they found the footage nonetheless.

I'm a couple of pages behind, this may be answered already.

The Lafayette Police had seen the video at least four weeks prior, maybe six weeks. They had viewed it several times and came in to seize it the day of the arrest. This was posted by Duane F. (Editor) in a forum comment.

Okay, thanks. Early on, I was thinking he reported it stolen from home in LA. But if he was in TX for whatever reason and says it was stolen there, then it is logical that he would rent a car in Spring (if he did) since he would not be covering up the fact that he had been in TX. I couldn't figure out how he could be so stupid to have rented a car in TX if he wasn't supposed to have been there.

Volunteer search crews are searching fields near Brandon Lavergne's home. A few St. Landry Parish deputies are assisting with four wheelers. There are no new developments, but volunteers want to check and clear nearby fields.

Where is Mickey? Time to get medieval on his *advertiser censored* IMO :banghead:

I hope they are checking any land that his father may have owned, since daddy was in the hospital during her disappearance, there may have been opportunity to be on his land without being seen

The pastor's statement is the type of thing that will get BSL a change of venue.

imo BL isnt going to prevail in any venue... changing it is just a way to slow down the guilty verdict...jmho

I think so too! The family wasn't around... and they were aware the BSL had a "timely" departure when he should have been with them or when they expected him to be.

He knew his land/home would be checked but not his parents...
IMO
The buzzards comment bothers me.
"Busby, meanwhile, noted that about four to five weeks ago a pasture that was part of the search had been overcome by buzzards."

I just have a bad feeling about their home burning down last year...
hope I am wrong!
"The house burned down about a year ago, said neighbor R.G. Harrison, and was later replaced with a mobile home."

Well, apparently neither do many of us here.

True, but we are not in a position of authority speaking to large groups in public...just not smart on Pastor's part. The case needs to be tried fairly and properly; it will be enough of a challenge if Mickey has not been found by the time the trial takes place.
