I believe MS did not know his real name or that he was a sexual offender.
I know it would keep her in jail if they could prove that she did know,
but I really do not think anyone knew his real name. The police had no
idea who he was until they took his fingerprints. No one else knew his real
name either, imo.
TS did not got away from law enforcement for so long by making careless
mistakes. She probably only knew his alias because he would be
worried about what MS would do if they broke up. She would retaliate by
calling the cops and having him arrested. At least I would if I were dumb
enough to date a RSO. JMO

I know when MAS was apprehended that she tried to keep from giving LE any information about TS. I'm wondering if she gave them a few fake names such the different names he used or of she just stuck to one name.

Did police only correctly identify him when they fingerprinted him? Or did MAS finally fess up on his name? She hasn't been very forthcoming with other details so I imagine she wouldn't have done that.

They say that upon her arrest that she tried to hide his identity. Couldn't that be an obstruction of justice charge?

As for him hiding his record as a sex offender from him. Why would he have to hide it from her? After all, this is a girl who romanticized the relationship between her "friend" Addie and the man who killed and dismembered her.

TS probably told her about some of his brushes with the law and thought it was so romantic how he was some tough ex con and she was his ladylove. How very romantic!! NOT!! But probably in her eyes it was. He was a bad boy and she was the woman who tamed him, saved him with her "love" and got him to marry her. Ok, I'll stop typing now before I throw up.

But yeah, I'm thinking that not only did she know a lot about him, she approved and thought it was admirable and romantic.

Thank you for your post. You make some very interesting comments.
However, I do believe that MAS is very “computer literate” and that
she knew that TS was indeed a ROS! He probably even bragged about
it. You can find a trail of her "computer literacy" on the web very easily.

Please remember that MAS is not your average person. Personally I think
she is a highly intelligent woman with a very devious mind.

As for Louisiana Law: It states: Whoever commits the crime of harboring
or concealing a sexual offender, sexually violent predator, or child predator
shall be imprisoned not more than five years or fined not more than five
thousand dollars, or both. At least two years of the sentence imposed
shall be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of
sentence.

And for this very reason I am glad LE has her laptop. I read earlier on the MS thread that evidence in her case is being given #1 priority by the crime labs in LA. Just going to have to wait it out I guess. :fence:

I've been lurking this thread for a while. Came across this article a few days ago on Tablet, an online magazine that discusses contemporary and historical Jewish issues:

How History Forgot Judah P. Benjamin

Though the article itself is mostly about Judah P. Benjamin, a Confederate leader who was also Jewish and lived part of his life in New Orleans, it uses the framing device of the writer having visited the club "Temptations," since it was once Benjamin's home, to see if anyone knows about its history. In it, the writer talks to one of the dancers--"Ryan" Lockhart.

I emailed the writer, and he indicated that "Ryan" and Jaren were one in the same. He was unaware of what had happened to Jaren until I directed him to the news story and, though the article was published this week, he presumably interviewed Jaren at least a couple of months ago. He says he has told his editor about what's happened since the interview took place, but as of now there's been no update to the article.

Except for the coincidence of her having been interviewed, the article sheds no light on what happened to Jaren, nor does the ongoing investigation surrounding her murder affect the content of the article in any real way. But it was kind of an eerie happenstance, and I figured the Websleuths group would appreciate being made aware of it, especially since it sheds a bit of light on Jaren's personality.

I knew that legally that abc didnt have to honor the subpoena because it came from out of state but just because they don't "legally" have to honor it, there is no reason why they wouldn't do it voluntarily. Why give the impression that they are assisting a potential murderer? Why not just do the right thing? What tarnish their image by refusing to cooperate in catching a killer?
JMO, but their reasoning might lie in the fact that they are a reality based production, and the success of the show relies on "real" people, i.e., non-actors, who are willing to give "tell all" testimonies. Since those who are close to crimes sometimes have sketchy pasts of their own, and are probably difficult to recruit for the show, anyway, it behooves them to put up resistance to a request to turn over footage to LE.

What a find! And a fascinating article to boot! :goodpost:

Wow. Maybe it was loud in there and he heard "Ryan" instead of "Riot". Heck of an article, and it's really uncanny how JL was a part of it. That said, I cannot be surprised. This young lady seems to have affected both everyone that came in contact with her, and, posthumously, many that did not. Thank you for sharing.

I was thinking the same thing about "Ryan" and "Riot" or a combination of her daughter's name and her own. An experienced detective might be able to find something of significance in her interview, even if it is just a little something that helps explain why someone like Jaren may have felt safe leaving the club with two FQ characters like MAS and TS.

Now, if someone could just do something about these biblical rains we've been having in southeast LA!

No kidding! I tried to reach Noah today, but his FB has gone private. :floorlaugh:

SwampMama, I totally agree that MS romanticized AH and ZB's relationship.
On Final Witness, she acted as if she was really into ZB, even after what
he did to her "friend".
I think that a lot of women tend to be attracted to bad boys
at some point in their lives. Some outgrow that attraction, some do not.
Thinking like a woman, if a man 40 year old man, like TS, told me
that he was a sexual offender resulting from a relationship with
a 14 year old girl, I would ALWAYS feel threatened when younger girls were
around. I would think the average female would not want that kind of bad boy, lol.
However, I think that we can all agree that MS is not your average female.
I think it would all come down to whether or not TS could trust MS with that
particular bit of information after being together for only a few months.
You know, this gets me thinking, maybe you are right and she did know.
Maybe she got jealous with JL around because she was a bit younger than MS.
MS starts thinking about TS being with a 14 year old girl and MS is what,
about 30, maybe this thought stirs up some negative emotions and she snaps.
This could be MS's motive if she was the one who committed the actual murder.
So many maybes. I have come up with so many different scenarios in my
overactive imagination, lol. I guess we will not know anything even remotely
concrete until the trial, whenever that may be. I feel very hopeful that this
is going to end well, with justice for Jaren. JMO
I wonder if Mississippi courts would let the trial be televised? Are there any laws
prohibiting cameras in the courtroom in LA or MS?

I would venture to say that is MAS doesn't start talking soon that she may find that TS turns on her and starts implicating HER as the main killer in order to get a more favorable deal for himself. Not that I think he will get off light but he certainly could use it to get somewhat of a better deal for himself by blaming the killing on MAS. After all, SHE is the one who had a "friend" (Addie) who was previously dismembered and she was obviously fascinated and even enamored by Zack and Addie.

Of course TS's using the alias of a name of a painter who painted gruesome dismember subjects doesn't bode well for him. I think there ought to be an electric chair built for two. Let couples who kill together die together.

Lately, I have been thinking that he may be cooperating with the police. Imo, the news article about the possible witness made it sound as if MS was being more uncooperative than TS . Imo, the media seems more focused on MS. That may be because there is more to report with MS, though. I would like to hear more about what is going on with TS.
Has is it been reported that he is back in NC? I assumed he would have a court date set by now for failing to register as a SO. He would have to go to court for that, right?
At first I was convinced TS was the monster, but I am starting to lean toward MS.
It could be that the alias the TS used was a stolen identity. Law enforcement believes that it was, or at least that is what they have stated. MS is the one that has ties to not one, but TWO gruesome murders. That is, imo, more unlikely to be a coincidence.
MS has convinced me of her guilt by her silence.

And for this very reason I am glad LE has her laptop. I read earlier on the MS thread that evidence in her case is being given #1 priority by the crime labs in LA. Just going to have to wait it out I guess. :fence:

Were the friends expecting MAS and TCS to return to their house? That's interesting.

Are we sure it was MAS's laptop and not the homeowner's?

"No wonder this place is haunted." lol!

Jaren was probably thinking, 'so what, who cares?' :blushing:
Obviously, Jaren had more tact than I do.
Really though, the story is interesting and loaded with enough ammo to start WWIII.

In Judah P. B.'s wiki description, one name stands out to me, Benjamin Wade.
I've noticed a few name duplications within stories related to AH, MS and TS. All coinkidinks, I'm sure. :waitasec:

Hi. o/t ~ I just had a strange experience.
Last night I had a dream that LadyBug86 is Snooki. Weird.
Just now, Access Hollywood is on T.V. and Snooki is a guest on the show. Kit asked her if she's been having any weird dreams! :waitasec:

Anyway, I saw Snooki on another show earlier in the week and since both she and LadyBug are expecting, my mind did
whatever it did but that's crazy! :blushing:

That is funny! And I'm naming my daughter Jersey!! LOL and some people say uh oh JERSEY SHORE!! LOL

But she is actually named after like Jersey like football Jersey! My husband and I are football fans! But I do have a lasting impression on people

So people dreaming about me I'd have to say is an everyday experience lol

Just a little back ground prior to post.

Last year my sister and I traveled from Biloxi via I-10 to the Silver Slipper Casino after dark. We exited the Bay St Louis exit and made our way via map directions to Lakeshore Drive Off Hwy 90. It was a 2 lane road that was very very dark and I thought it would never end as both of us were UNFAMILIAR with the area. Next Month will be a year that my husband and I purchased a weekend home in Long Beach. Over the past year we have became more familiar with the areas from Waveland to Ocean Springs and always searching for alternative routes/back roads to get us in and around the towns. We do this during DAY LIGHT HOURS and at times get lost.

One question I have been asking myself is why go EAST from the FQ. Why not go to the WEST towards the spillway or manshac. A direction MAS should be FAMILIAR traveling day or NIGHT as that direction is towards the Hammond/Loranger area.

So what was EAST? A drug pick up run for TS (and skim a lil' off the top for his girl MAS)?, was TS/MAS delivering JL to a third party? was it just a joy ride to rob JL of her monies earned that night?, was it a location they had success at previously dumping another victim who was a out of town FQ worker that no one would miss?, was it a place MAS went as a child or teenager for day trips with her family or go camping a Buccaneer State Park?, did MAS/TS know someone from the area??

Or was MAS/TS FAMILIAR with the very dark roads that lead to the gulfcoast area (chef menteur hwy, exit 2 nasa rest stop, irish bayou, exit 13 Kiln/Bay St Louis). Had they traveled them enough times during the DAY time that they felt very comfortable traveling them at NIGHT?

Something made them travel EAST and not WEST?

I would think from my own expierences if you are not a local you would have to be FAMILIAR to travel some of those dark roads at NIGHT especially if it was your first time. I am almost convinced that they (probably MAS more than TS) were very FAMILIAR with this area along the gulfcoast...............

Assuming that you are referring to the news story regarding the laptop, you are correct. I does not say that
it was MAS's laptop. That was not made clear in the news story.

This is what we do know from this story about the Anonymous Couple -
"The last time we saw [Speaks and Sanchez] was the Monday before they were arrested. She packed quite a
few bags, saying they were being evicted from her house and they were going to be staying the night with us."

So we are to assume that LE took MAS's laptop, since MAS and TS were planning to stay at the home of the
"Anonymous Couple."

That's interesting that you brought this up. As we know MAS was the driver of the vehicle when they were caught.
Being that MAS would be more familar with this area, more than likely - she was the driver. I don't think TS would
know this area at night, since he is not from this area.

My guess, is that TS was in the backseat with JL during this drive to hell. Most mothers know that you can lock
the back doors with safety locks, to assure that their children cannot open the doors while the vehicle is moving.
MAS would probably know this, being that she is a mother of young kids. That would have trapped JL along with TS
sitting right next to her, perhaps he was also holding a knife to her chest. JMO

From wikipedia:
Child safety locks are built into the rear doors of most cars to prevent rear seat passengers from opening the
doors both during transit and while the vehicle is stationary;
vehicles have been built with this feature since
the early 1980s.

Towards the east is much more deserted, much less chance of being seen or stopped by a cop. There would be less chance that Jaren could escape and get help. Maybe they knew of the recent Mississippi prostitution ring arrests and figured that if Jaren was found in Mississippi, police would just conclude she was a part of that and they wouldn't be implicated. They could just say they left her at a casino, or she hooked up with some guy...

I think they figured that she wouldn't be found though and that somehow they wouldn't be implicated. Are they that stupid or have they successfully gotten away with murder before?

As time goes on and MS refuses to talk, it just makes her look more guilty. She isn't cooperating, she isn't acting as though she were someone who was coerced or acted in fear for her life. She acts like someone who is standing by her man.

I feel that LE is holding off on the details and such, luring her into a false sense of security that they have nothing. Perhaps LE is waiting until MAS thinks she is at the brink of being sprung from jail to dump it all on her in a huge reality check.

I felt a false sense of security or should I say smoke screen was being put out there by LE in regards to the recent news articles of the "potential witness" especially when 2 versions came out within hours of each other and then the first one was no longer accessible to view. If not for a third party but maybe for the info to be relayed to MAS by family/friends and in hopes she would start to sing.

Maybe I just watch too many episodes of criminal minds! lol
