The teen was in the custody of the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) on May 22 when they went on a group trip to the museum, New Orleans police told Fox News Digital.

Police say that at some point during the trip she “left the group” and has not been seen since. Authorities have not said why they believe she may be a victim of trafficking.

I'm so glad she's been found safe, per previous post. But I do want to take some time to condemn whoever runs this account for squashing and distorting Kristhal's picture to fit their tweet, instead of appropriately cropping or arranging the design around it. I don't know how anyone should be expected to recognize a potential MP with a photo that makes her look two times as wide but still the same height.

I can’t find the age of the person arrested but it is interesting to me they chose to charge him with carnal knowledge rather than a specific sex crime against this 14 year old child.

As I understand it, "carnal knowledge" is an older legal term still on the books, where a newer term might be "statutory rape". jmo
