''LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Eight individuals with suspected ties to ISIS were arrested after an investigation was carried out in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and New York City, according to ABC News sources.
The suspects were reportedly from Tajikistan and crossed into the United States from the southern border in 2023'.
''Tajikistan has been described as a hotbed for recruiting for the terrorist organization''.

"The threat level is the highest it's ever been, I think," said retired FBI agent Bobby Chacon. "We've heard that from both the attorney general and the FBI director in recent congressional testimony. It's keeping them up at night."

''NEW YORK CITY (NewsNation) — The U.S. remains in a heightened threat environment for both foreign and domestic terrorism following the recent arrests of eight people from Tajikistan with suspected ties to the Islamic State group, the Department of Homeland Security confirmed to NewsNation.''

“Over the last few days, ICE agents arrested several non-citizens pursuant to immigration authorities. The actions were carried out in close coordination with the FBI’s joint terrorism task forces. … The FBI and DHS will continue working around the clock with our partners to identify, investigate, and disrupt potential threats to national security.”

''Six Russian nationals suspected to have terror ties to ISIS have been arrested in a coordinated sting operation spanning Los Angeles, New York and Philadelphia, The Post can exclusively reveal.

Two ICE sources confirmed to The Post they arrested the six people, who hail from Tajikistan, over the last week after the FBI contacted the agency to warn it.

Two others who were part of the same group were also arrested after being under surveillance for “several months” by a multi-agency Joint Terrorism Task Force, according to NBC. ''

''In April, Wray warned lawmakers that a possible “coordinated attack” could take place in the US following an ISIS-K attack on a concert hall in Moscow — carried out by citizens of Tajikistan — that killed 145 people and wounded hundreds more.''

"It's extremely serious," Ehrie said. "I liken it to a weather front. You're seeing all the fronts coming into play: We have a border issue. We have an ideological issue. We have ISIS-K—which is increasing their external operations—and then we find these individuals who we don't really know a lot about in our borders."

"In the business of terrorism, you want the notoriety, you want the media attention," he said. "You start to think: What's the next target that would get them the most notoriety, that would make the biggest splash for them? It's hard not to come back to the United States."

Gosh, I can’t begin imagine how / why they were able to cross the border. :sarcasm:

DHS identifies 400 migrants smuggled into US by ISIS-affiliated network

The Department of Homeland Security has identified over 400 migrants who were brought to the US from Central Asia and other places by an ISIS-affiliated human smuggling network — and the whereabouts of more than 50 of them are unknown, according to an unsettling report.

More than 150 of the migrants have been arrested, but the locations of another 50 remain unknown.

Migrants from around the world continue to arrive across the US border.

As a result, the Department of Homeland Security has been monitoring migrants coming from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia and Russia — all places ISIS-K has been observed.

Why are we doing this to the US? These are just the ones they know about. Is there anyone we won’t let in? This blows my mind.
