I am praying hard for Lamar and his children and all friends and loved ones. He has experienced so much pain in his life, and if what has been reported in regards to his medical condition is true, it doesn't look good. The foam or mucous coming out of his mouth and nose reminds me, as another poster said, of the Chris Farley death scene image. This is known as pulmonary edema and is common in overdose deaths, basically the lungs fill with fluid and it becomes harder to breathe, and unless medical intervention occurs quickly, you can die or become comatose from lack of oxygen. Other things can cause this besides overdose, like heart failure and sepsis which were also mentioned on this thread. Now that it's being reported his organs are failing I think a miracle is needed at this point but maybe a medical professional could chime in on that.

Also wanted to say that for any member or guest that may be reading this that has lost someone they love to drugs and/or alcohol, is currently dealing with this disease with a friend or loved one, or is personally in active addiction or recovery, please know that I am praying for all of you as well.

I live in KC and there is a man who does a morning radio show here who is really good friends with Hof. Hof was on the show this morning and pretty much said the same things in that interview. He said it was his understanding that herbal viagra is petty much OTC speed, so he wasn't shocked that Lamar's heart was failing.

A bit off topic and not to put down Hof...but I would not be happy if the owner of the brothel I was in was spilling all to the media. Lol.
 
Many of these very tall, athletic men have underlying cardiac and connective tissue auto-immune conditions that can make them more susceptible to sudden death than the average man. RN '87

It might come as a surprise, but there are no confidentiality laws covering brothel owner-brothel clients.
 
Personally, I think ol Hof might be trying hard to cover his own behind. He must have said a hundred times that LO 'took 10 packs of herbal viagra. ' I really don't think that all of this was caused by herbal viagra. I think there were some other harder drugs involved but Hof needs to downplay all that. JMO
 
Odom’s distraught father cried foul, according to reports.

“Somebody drugged my son,” Joe Odom told Hollywood Life. “There’s no way he’s down there partying crazy like that. No way. I knew something was wrong because I’ve been calling him all day and he hasn’t been answering. I’m depressed right now — this is messed up!”

Herbal Viagra could be anything, really.

Lamar Odom lost it Sunday ... and the trigger was an episode of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians." Sources at Love Ranch South said Lamar seemed normal during his stay until he got a call from someone about the show.

Some of the women who were around Lamar say he became irate, complaining about the way he had just been portrayed on the show: Khloe got 2 calls from Lamar. When she got off the phone Kim criticized Khloe for being flirty with Lamar. In another clip, Lamar called Khloe to tell her that his good friend Jamie had died. When she got off the phone she worried Lamar might spin out of control. And in another scene Khloe fled a club after she heard Lamar was trying to get in.

We're told Lamar remained upset until he was found unconscious.

I am glad Khloe can be there.
At least someone who loves him is with him.
Though it'll definitely mess with Khloe's head to see him this way.
Who knows... if he does manage to pull through maybe it will reunite them.
Unfortunately I don't think he will pull through.

Ugh I really have a soft spot for Lamar and I'm not even a fan of the show. I also like Khloe and Rob (he and Lamar were very close). I have unfortunately been in this situation with an ex that was my first true love in my early 20's. I had to leave him after numerous attempts to get him into treatment failed. He spiraled out of control with the drugs and overdosed. My last words to him were "get help or you will die." He died a few months later after switching from pain meds to heroin. I blamed myself for a long time and still have moments where I wonder "what if?" Thankfully I am still close with his family because they are the only people in my personal life who understood truly how deep our connection was and knew how much I tried to help him and truly loved him. I realize the media and many commenters on other sites are blaming the kardashians for this and think Khloe has no right to be anywhere near him, but if he does pass away, I hope Khloe can come to terms with the fact that this was not her fault. I was told by family and friends so many times to just "get over it, he was your ex why are you still upset?" It wasn't until I saw a grief counselor that I realized many people don't understand how isolating the grieving process can be for an ex for so many reasons, especially when you don't have children with the person who passed. Anyway, prayers for all involved. And yes, I realize he was in a long term relationship with the mother of his children before he met Khloe, I was just focusing on Khloe because based on what she's publicly said in interviews i read (not on the show, although she did express these sentiments on the show) about her love for Lamar, the divorce, always loving him, etc..I felt I could relate. I don't know enough about the specifics of his relationship with the mother of his children to comment other than the obvious and unimaginable pain and grief she's experiencing for herself and her children and that I am devastated for them, actually devastated is an understatement.

Lamar Odom Had Cocaine and Opiates in His System, 'Is Still Fighting' After Suffering Strokes in Hospital: Source

A source close to the family tells PEOPLE that Khloé Kardashian, Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian West – who all "dropped everything" and flew to the hospital Tuesday night – have been told by doctors that "cocaine and opiates" were found in Odom's system.

Odom has also "had a couple of strokes" since he was first found unconscious and then hospitalized Tuesday afternoon, the source says.

"Lamar is still fighting," the source says. "It's a waiting game right now. The first 48 hours will tell a lot."

I knew it was more than 'herbal viagra.' Odom has had a serious drug problem for a long time. It is heartbreaking because he is a very kind sweet person. :candle:

Very possible that he is trying to cover his behind...it just seems it would be more beneficial if he kept his mouth closed. But, this is Hof we're talking about, he's kind of an attention *advertiser censored*.

So sorry to read this, Mollyandme. You can definitely relate to what Khloe is likely going through. I am glad you're still close with his family and have been able to come to realize there was nothing you could have done.

I know Lamar had problems with drugs long before last weekend. But, I think the "brothel" bears some responsibility. Someone should have been with him at all times if there was drug use going on. In one of the articles I read ( can't remember which) it said he hadn't been checked on since 6am, and 911 was called at around 3:15.
I can't help but think if the alarm had been raised sooner the outcome could very possibly be much better.

If he was 'clocked' in at the brothel than I would agree. But apparently he is a good friend of the owners. And he was visiting him and staying in his home. When I have a friend from out of town, and they go to bed, I don't go in and check on them to see that they are still breathing. They probably thought he was asleep. IDK

Another source told TMZ that there were needle track marks on one of the ex-NBA star's arms

Hof says Odom became 'bummed' after receiving a call on Sunday. Other sources say the call was related to Keeping up with the Kardashians and that the conversation made Odom 'irate'
 
With so many drugs in his system, and track marks and alcohol, there is nothing anyone else could have done to prevent this. He was like an out of control train steaming down the tracks. No one could stop it but him at that point.

He was on a downward spiral for awhile now. It is very sad.
