OK so the friend DM asked to "keep tabs on" Laura was Andrew Michalski. I guess AM will be a witness in this trial too,
Wonder if Andrew will feign ignorance this time too..... had no idea why DM was asking this of him. Not a clue...... ya right.

So much for the unwilling Smich, a victim of circumstances and a patsy. I'd like to offer a lifetime supply of iPads to Smich. Reminds me of that parrot they recently used to convict a woman of shooting her husband.

Smitch is no more innocent than DM. Anyone who STILL holds out that he was fooled and forced into participating is a fool! They both were equal and willing participants. JMO.

And they have the nerve to plead "not guilty" ? With all the blunders and evidence???? Mind boggling actually...

Why wouldn't they plead not guilty. It gets them out of their cells for all the court dates and now the trial. Plus all the attention DM has been wanting in the MSM, now playing lawyer to show how "intelligent" he is...such a shining star and making rabbit proud I bet.

Both are totally evil, DM being the manipulator leader of the two. He met his match in MS, a partner in crime who was willing to do anything for DM for a bit of money and good times. Otherwise he was just a wannabe loser rapper with no direction in live. DM gave him money, drugs and direction and excitement in his life...in all the wrong ways.

Interesting this is unfolding as many of us predicted. Huge question I have is WHY the hell wasn't CN charged in LB's murder? She knew what was going down and had some influence in LB's demise and knew after the fact. Disturbing and pathetic she walks free to live happily ever after. I hope Karma is waiting just around the corner for her. ALL MOO.

Finally caught up. Left my phone at home today and the network at work was down all afternoon. Thanks for posting the tweets here and providing one source for me to get caught up.

IMHO, this tells a tremendous amount about DM and his panache for premeditated murder. IIRC he researched the truck for a long time; maybe the test drives before TB were actually part of his planning process? I wouldn't be surprised to see that he started planning WM's murder shortly after LB's. If he had started planning for LB in April- murdered her 4 months later in July but not disposing of the body until the end of July...4 months later he murders WM and then has to deal with closing down the business, finishing up at the end of December- 4 months later, he had another one planned TB and then he was going to be headed to the Baja. IMHO, the only thing that stopped his need to kill was TB and the HWPD. Also, the fact that he texted CN that he was going to hurt LB makes me shutter. What did "hurt her" and "make her disappear" mean to CN?

DM never sounded like he was afraid of LB, as if she knew something that could set LE on him and he was in turn afraid of this. He was actually talking to his friends about killing someone in order to eliminate them from his personal life. Sure, discard someone from your life...but do this by killing them? Why did this make sense to others?

Of course he had that previous girlfriend that he rid himself of through her suicide. And then his father: this is the only murder with a logical motive IMO. He had to get rid of his father to have control of his destiny.

But TB, LB in my mind are both emotional kills. TB for the thrill; LB due to DM's rage at having a relationship issue he seemingly couldn't solve any other way.

MS...imagine what it's like to be MS. Your pothead druggy buddy drops out of school, does correspondence and becomes a CEO; MS drops out of school and with his record, cleaning his buddy's hangar bathroom is an opportunity he can't ignore. He's not going to be treated any better anywhere else. Imagine what kind of angry person grows up in affluent Oakville and yet finds himself with no career paths open to him but drug peddling and manual labour. He craves recognition; he wants to be a rap star. He wants to be tougher and harder. IMO MS had his own set of issues but what he and DM seemed to share is an incredible anger at others. I never bought his story that he wasn't into murdering TB.

If the blue tarp/rug did hold Laura’s body, you have to wonder why anybody would photograph that. Trophy? Keeping somebody apprised? I just can’t wrap my head around how stupid they were leaving this 8 lane highway of evidence between the two cases.

She was burned on July 23rd? So she was dead since July 3rd and was kept somewhere for 20 days? sigh.

Again, as many members had speculated and the new search of the barn, she was likely left in the barn. Remember that photo of an investigator who was photographed carrying a board with a stain on it during that search. I wonder if it will be brought into evidence. At the time of the search it was announced nothing definitive had been found during that search, but testing would have been needed to determine if that board held evidence of LB. Time will tell. MOO LBboard.jpg

ETA: I hadn't read previous comment about this evidence before post. Sorry to be repeating.

Made himself sick thinking about what they did to Laura?

No I doubt it. Smich has had years and much alone time to reminisce and reflect on what he participated in and did to LB. Plus he's had many days in court, so these surrounding are nothing new to him. Perhaps he opted for a drive thru breakfast and it came back on him. :p Likely all show for the jurors to make himself appear LB's murder has affected him this way and he wasn't really a willing participant, not his nature pffft. MOO.

Just that the blood evidence ( ? ) was at one end of the board, perhaps where her head was, and covered by a bag, which would be approx. the length to cover a head and neck stain. IMO

My initial thought with the bag over the end of the board was perhaps LB's hair snagged the end of the board and it pulled some out and it was still attached to the board so they preserved it by putting the bag over it. MOO.

You are very right. I think we all can say, or at least hope, that we have those people in our lives that would stand behind us 100%. I know my parents would fight to the end if I swore I was innocent of something. All goes back to the egos of the guilty party(s) putting those people in that position of having to defend your actions. These 2 men (and I firmly believe CN) have caused such grief. As the saying goes "So unbelievable, you couldn't even make up this sh**"!

Does look like DM's fixated on her escort/stripping activity and mental instability, as if that's going to instil "reasonable doubt" into the mind of the jury. DM is feeling powerful questioning LB's dad and SL- lets see how he does when the forensic people get on the stand. I have a feeling that the first "alpha male" that gets up there may rattle DM more than a bit.

Too bad Mrs. Babcock didn't respond to DM with something along the line of "from what I understand Dellen you are the one who introduced Laura to the escorting business and drugs." This DM needs to be brought down off his pedestal. MOO.

In the vein of “things you wish Mr. Babcock would have said”:

“Do you find this difficult because I am the accused?”

“No, Mr. Milllard. If you murdered my daughter I couldn’t be more thrilled that you’re representing yourself...”

$

Co-accused Dellen Millard, right, questions witness Clayton Babcock — father of Laura Babcock — while Justice Michael Code and co-accused Mark Smich listen. Millard and Smich are charged with first-degree murder in Laura Babcock’s death.

I wonder where his designer suit is? Oh yeah he's frugal, no need spending money on such attire.:laugh: MOO.

I think it's very likely that Laura's body was in the blue tarp, or rug as another person has described it. Especially since our poster who was at the trial today seems to think the picture was possibly taken at the farm.

MOO

Probably a blue rug ftom DM's home and maybe there will be DNA evidence from DM's house proving that Laura was murdered in his home. They got that idea somewhere for the opening arguments 🤔

Sorry if this was mentioned already. I've only gotten to this post.

That line just about sent me air born when I read it in the tweets. That right there just spelled out the arrogance of the man. I "heard" intimidation in that question. Perhaps I am wrong but for him to start the trial like that just spelled out to me how this whole thing was going to play out. and absolutely yes, I wish Mr. Babcock would have cut him off at the knees at that exact moment. Would have put his whole game plan in reverse.

I think that house was likely sold and renovated before LE would have had a chance to get a warrant to search it for evidence in LB's murder. I don't think they ever searched for evidence of a murder or a murder victim in the house in TB's case?

Yeah, I can see those pictures being shown to someone as proof that the "problem" was taken care of. As you said, why else would someone take them? Although he did seem to have lots of interesting pictures on his electronic devices. Maybe just for his own amusement?

MOO

So he was stalking her, and it is weird because DM used his group of scum friends to keep a watch when he did robberies.
