I don't think the crown is too worried about the soap opera and supporting the defense theory that she ran off with someone else. Right now they are just trying to show that yes she had known issues and they weren't the cause of her death. If the crown didn't get this info out there the defense would bring them out and raise reasonable doubt. They are also just trying to prove she is in fact dead as well. I am sure later on they will have solid evidence that it was DM and MS that killed her. This soap opera isn't fun, but is neccessary to prove she is dead and her issues are known, but she didn't just disappear.

It is better the Crown have them as witnesses, not the defense. She was unstable but not until she got hooked up with DM. She finished university, was working. Drugs can cause psychosis, and DM was giving her drugs unsolicited. He knew she was unstable. When she unraveled more he wants to murder her. He is a sadistic predator/murderer, nothing else. It is awful he preyed on those he was familiar with but then he began to look for innocent people on the internet to prey on and murder. He probably could put on a good act of being charming and so people were fooled by him. It is like Paul Barnardo , some said he was good looking and charming and he used that to prey on young girls to murder. That is what DM did he could put on a good act of looking like an okay guy and people were fooled by him. DM and Paul Barnardo are the ones to be the most afraid for that reason.

Kind of have to disagree with this. It seems LB went off the rails after breaking up with Millard. She was with him from 2009-11 I believe, I don't think she started smoking daily/cocaine/prostitution until 2011-12.

Yes, he needs to discredit all these witnesses. Like the guy yesterday who in his police report said that he saw her on July 11 (I believe). Millard should have pushed harder on that. When did you realize it wasn't her? Did you change your statement only because it didn't fit the timeline? That claim was a big opening for Millard and I think he let it slide. I guess that they might have been easily able to confirm who it actually was (via the agency), so it might have been better to raise the question and let it go without fully answering the question.

DM.is a rookie sure but don't forget about Dungey. I think if there was a big window there MS' lawyer would explore it. He probably knows there was nothing there.

I agree. But even more they are showing that they have traced LBs every move in the weeks leading up to here disappearance, and that the last traceable move will be to Millards doorstep. These people aren't offering incriminating evidence, they are simply filling in a timeline. Whether they had sex or did drugs with her is of little relevance, the fact that they can account for her whereabouts during those times is what is important.

She broke up with SL before Xmas 2011.

maybe LB knew too much about DMs criminal activities and he thought she was going to spill the beans.

Waiting patiently for the evidence linking her to DM and SM July 2 >.

Why didn't the Crown approached the topic of LB leaving Last Minute Escorts and starting her own agency? I bet DM will ask this. Is it just me, isnt it common perception you can't just get out of the biz? This is an area the defense should try to exploit, IMO.

Lol you're thinking of MS13 or some equally messed up gang. I don't think anyone cares about an escort leaving. Especially after working a month there.

Not sure if you viewed the webpage, it's also Russian owned. Most of these girls have Russian write ups. Just my observation

You must be right. Apparently defense passed on cross. It's hard to follow. No mention of that in the tweets but we're on to the next witness.

Jury is back for #Babcock trial after long break. Marcovitch (corrected spelling) will wait for cross. Now Shomo Abuhav. Spelling unconf.

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews 3m3 minutes ago
Abuhav is 54, he says. Thick accent. Hard to understand. Currently works at son's internet company. In 2012 he ran escort service

Shannon Martin‏ @ShannonMartinTV 2m2 minutes ago
Crown Jill Cameron calls her next witness: Shlomo Abouhav (I'll confirm spelling with Crown on break).

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews 3m3 minutes ago
"Last Minute Escorts," started it in 2007 on Mount Pleasant in Toronto

Shannon Martin‏ @ShannonMartinTV 3m3 minutes ago
In 2012, he was running Last Minute Escorts. He started the business in 2008.

Shannon Martin‏ @ShannonMartinTV 2m2 minutes ago
He says Babcock "worked a couple of nights" for his company.

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews 2m2 minutes ago
Says Laura #Babcock worked "a couple of nights" for him at his escort services. Her friend Julia brought her in for a job, he says

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews 1m1 minute ago
Laura #Babcock and Julia knew each other from high school, Shomo says, and they lived together at the time.

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews 44s44 seconds ago
Abuhav says #Babcock started at beginning of June and only worked two nights.

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews 38s39 seconds ago
Crown wants to know about his applications process. Abuhav says he needs name, address, physical description, and ID to prove age 19+

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews 11s12 seconds ago
Laura #Babcock would not have filled out an application form, he says.

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews now44 seconds ago
How would #Babcock be advertised through his agency? A website, he says. Shows "pictures of ladies."

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews now52 seconds ago
Some escorts don't want their photos advertised so the agency would choose another photo of a model online to represent her. #Babcock

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews now24 seconds ago
Laura #Babcock didn't use her real name or photo in ads, Abuhav says.

I agree with you. Girls that will do this kind of work that have "the look" are not that easy to find. We have heard from several witnesses that LB was paid in money and cocaine. The reason they do this is to get the girls hooked on the drug. If they leave they will always come back because they don't have the cash to continue their drug habit.

I agree, this testimony shows there were numerous people regularly in touch with her and many people helping her out, she could have contacted any of them if she'd needed something, they all suddenly stopped hearing from her end of June or July 1.

I think prosecution will next bring solid evidence that she was last with DM.
