Now, in light of "current events" I found this headline regarding the double shootings : The two men were not involved in gangs, did not have criminal records, police say

Like odd. It is like IMO, that the notions concerns whatever, even at the time did concern quesions about gang activity -

About one of the victims:

tour guide on the idyllic *island of Boa Vista in Cape Verde...... led a mostly European clientele on jaunts along silky sand dunes, whispering palm trees, and world-class beaches,

arrived in Dorchester five months ago ( before his death) to reconnect with his mother and sister, whom he had not seen in a decade.

Daniel Abreu grew up in Cape Verde, worked as a police officer there, and arrived in Dorchester four years ago,

The other two occu*pants were unharmed. They ran from the scene, but were later in contact with *authorities, police said.

A law enforcement official said Monday that the shooting may have been gang-related. On Tuesday, however, other officials said the victims did not have criminal records and were not involved in gangs. The motive remained unclear. This is a mystery, why anyone would want to kill two people who never bothered anyone.’

remembered the two as fun-loving and hard workers who spent most of their off-time at home with family or playing soccer at a *local field....Furtado often sat on the stairs leading to the first-floor entrance of the Hamilton Street three-decker, where he lived with his mother and sister. The girlfriend of the unidentified man wounded in the shooting said Furtado had become something of a fixture in the neighborhood in only five months.

“My son, he was a good boy; he never hurt anyone, so why did this happen to him?” wailed Maria Teixeira, 58, Furtado’s mother,

Abreu and Furtado worked for Jose Centeio’s company, *Advanced Detail Cleaning Service. Abreu also worked, mostly nights, at the South Shore YMCA in Quincy....Centeio said he and Furtado are cousins, and Abreu is related to Centeio’s wife.

They had no *issues with anyone, and I’m sure of that, because I spent a lot of time with them.”

Good call. If Hernandez is the shooter , then the others are ' merely' accomplices and once they are not afraid of him ( i havea feeling his friends were intimidated into helping him for fear of being his next victim) someone will probably be pretty helpful to the investigation!
Never thought of this
If Hernandez is the shooter

Carlos Ortiz, 27, of Bristol, Conn., is seen on surveillance video entering Hernandez’s North Attleborough home around 3:30 a.m. on June 17 armed with a handgun.

According to Connecticut officials, Ortiz has agreed to return to Massachusetts. He is due to appear in a Bristol, Conn., courtroom today to complete the extradition process before being brought to Massachusetts by State Police.

If Ortiz arrives in Massachusetts today, he could be arraigned in Attleboro District Court today on one count of carrying a firearm without a license. He has not been charged with murdering Lloyd.

Just catching up on the thread now.

Just had one quick question, is AH's house in a gated community? He did have home CCTV security etc but I am just surprised he didn't live in a residence with more security i.e Gates/fences positioned around the entire premises of his OWN house to block off anyone entering or trespassing on the property. Looks like anyone can go up to the doorstep. Any insight?
Hi!
Or we could say he is street, big, money = power = visitors probably knew about his past gang stuff and he loves guns!!!!!!!!!!

Probably would not want to mess with him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

According to this June 19th article, it appears that the civil suit was filed on Thursday, June 13, then settled, but Bradley plans on refiling:

http://www.ibtimes.com/aaron-hernan...ce-he-suspect-odin-lloyd-murder-case-1314563#

In a lawsuit filed in federal court in Florida last Thursday, Alexander S. Bradley sued Hernandez for an incident he says occurred in Miami in February, TMZ reports. The suit was filed just days before police searched Hernandez’s North Attleboro, Mass., home in their investigation into the killing of Odin Lloyd.

...

While Bradley had initially sued Hernandez for more than $100,000, the case will never get to court. TMZ notes that the lawsuit has already been dismissed, indicating that the two parties have reached a settlement. However, CBS Sports reports that Bradley plans to refile the suit on Wednesday.

While the lawsuit itself has been validated, it appears that Miami police did not deem it necessary to prosecute Hernandez in the alleged shooting of Bradley. Sports Illustrated's Greg Bedard notes that a police report was filed at the time of the incident, but it was "resolved quickly."
police report be interesting to read!

Anyone who can shoot someone and get away with it becomes increasingly more confident with each incident.
But starting to wonder if he was not the actual shooter but the boss if you will

That is scary!

I would like to know if AH lead a secret life as a gang member or did his team know what he did and ignore it? Imo

Former New England Patriot tight end Aaron Hernandez was allegedly paranoid before his arrest, fearing that members from his old gang were out to kill him.

The tight end previously belonged to a neighborhood gang while attending high school in Bristol, Connecticut, according to TMZ. The player was attempting to break ties with his past, and had been doing so for over a year, but unsuccessfully according to the report. The report claimed: "Aaron believed people in the gangster world felt Aaron owed them something ... but it wasn't all about money -- they wanted his time and respect."

Sources reported that Hernandez had become "paranoid" leading up to the murder. The player feared "people from his 'old lifestyle' were trying to kill him," TMZ reported.

During his 2010 Draft:

Front office sources from two NFL teams have confirmed to National Football Post that their background research on Aaron Hernandez in preparation for the 2010 draft revealed the tight end had hints of gang ties and associations in his past.

A first-round or second-round talent, Hernandez was taken completely off the board by one of the teams and regarded as only worth a seventh-round no-risk flier by the other franchise. In addition to the speculation of being tied to gangs, Hernandez had multiple failed drug tests while at the University of Florida, which also contributed greatly to the character questions about the star tight end.

NFL scouts and cross-checkers do detailed work, trying to leave no stone unturned when evaluating potential draft picks. Even the smallest of transgressions often leads to a red flag when it comes to assessing a player's character.

One of the club officials said that while the gang ties were never completely verified by his organization, the hints and rumors of such were strong enough to steer the front office clear of Hernandez altogether on draft day.

A Miramar man connected to football star Aaron Hernandez's murder case appeared in bond court Saturday and was ordered held without bond.

Ernest Wallace, 41, was charged with accessory after the fact to a murder that the former New England Patriots player is charged with committing.

Wallace, who was sought by Massachusetts State Police and was considered armed and dangerous, walked into the lobby of the Miramar Police Department on Friday afternoon and peacefully surrendered. He was the third suspect in the high-profile case.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/e...remaining-guaranteed-money-to-aaron-hernandez

Volin writes that Herandez was due $2.46 million in guaranteed base salary in 2013-14, $200,000 in roster and workout bonuses this year, and a $3.25 million payment on March 31, 2014 to complete his signing bonus. That money was fully guaranteed for skill, injury, and cap purposes.

ProFootballTalk.com's Mike Florio writes that "As to the $2.5 million in guaranteed base salaries, there will be no fight from Hernandez or the NFLPA. Multiple sources on both sides of the issue have told PFT that salary guaranteed for injury, skill, and salary cap can be voided if a player is cut for conduct unbecoming to the team."

But, Florio adds: Hernandez's camp"will argue strenuously that the Patriots have no right to withhold the $3.25 million in deferred signing bonus money" because that money has already been earned.

Squabbling over a contract that is now meaningless may seem like the least of Hernandez's worries, but he has been charged with first-degree muder. Mounting a vigerous legal defense won't be cheap.
