"Papoo" Hernandez delivered #AaronHernandez an FEG assault rifle and handguns in spring 2013 that were hidden in a car on a trailer.

He did not testify at first murder trial of #AaronHernandez , but his lawyer told me in 2015 he was beaten behind bars for being on list.

Locke calls lunch break. Back at 2.#AaronHernandez

and - I am going to watch a movie.... I can come back after my movie and post the rest of the tweets - if you like! :)

Article about Bradley's testimony...

In order to catch a crook, sometimes you need a crook,” said Robert Bloom, a Boston College Law professor.

Bloom said that while Bradley has liabilities, including his criminal record and “obvious incentive to testify” for prosecutors since he was with Hernandez during the killings, there are also “
......
The truth of that allegation could be written on Bradley’s face, according to Bloom.

“You see that he’s got substantial injuries,” Bloom said. “You can literally see right in the middle of his forehead where the bullet went through.”

......

Bradley’s explanation for that text — that he wanted to tell a Bristol County grand jury he didn’t recall who shot him to shield Hernandez from criminal charges, while still accusing him in civil court to collect money — could pass muster with jurors, said Rosanna Cavallaro, a Suffolk Law professor.

Sullivan sure seemed heated this morning before the jury was let in.

Cathy‏ @courtchatter
#AaronHernandez - Sullivan is fuming. He is loudly telling Judge Locke he does not cut off the CW during arguments but cuts the defense off

Jessica Reyes‏ @jessicamreyes
Judge: make your arguments succinct and you won't be interrupted

I think that was strategic on Sullivan's part. The upcoming testimonies are being hotly contested by the defense. I think they are trying to make the judge hesitant in siding with the state today.

Cathy‏ @courtchatter
#AaronHernandez - Oscar Hernandez now has a very foggy memory.

Cathy‏ @courtchatter
#AaronHernandez - Reminder: Oscar did not testify in Lloyd trial. His atty said he was beaten up in jail for just being on the witness list

Cathy‏ @courtchatter
#AaronHernandez - When asked if he gave Thompson his gun that night, Oscar says "If that's what it says," referring to his GJ testimony

Cathy‏ @courtchatter
#AaronHernandez - After OH, the CW asked to approach. The jury was sent out. The next witness is at sidebar with attorneys.

Laurel J. Sweet‏ @Laurel_Sweet
Jury, back from lunch only 30 minutes, are sent out again. Look frustrated. A witness with cascading dreadlocks at sidebar. #AaronHernandez

Who is it?

I am guessing it might be one of the passengers in the white SUV. I read that he is expected to say that he didn't see anything happen the night they left Tootsies----guess the state wants to get it out there before Baez does?

During the sidebar there was a potential witness with dread locks standing there...but this new witness has no dreads...?

So looks like the defense might have won that sidebar fight?

Thanks for taking over Katydid! As I was going to come over here, and say
:offtobed: for me!

Will read the rest tomorrow!
:seeya:

Had to take my SO in for emergency eye surgery. Watching this agonizing 'that's what the paper says' testimony on my iPad.

Is there another one from the group after this?

Laurel J. Sweet‏ @Laurel_Sweet
Crawford was in the back seat of the vehicle where that allegedly happened ... but we'll get to that tomorrow at 9. #AaronHernandez

Cathy‏ @courtchatter
#AaronHernandez - Crawford GJ test left Tootsies in blue truck w/ Je'rrelle (driving), AH (front passenger). Back: Crawford, "Soldier" & AB.

Laurel J. Sweet‏ @Laurel_Sweet
Jer'elle Pierre, the alleged driver, is brought back into Courtroom 906. Locke reminds him he's been ordered to appear. #AaronHernandez

Laurel J. Sweet‏ @Laurel_Sweet
Prosecutors concerned Pierre will flee. Locke will give him the benefit of the doubt. We'll see ... #AaronHernandez

Cathy‏ @courtchatter
#AaronHernandez - Judge Locke adjourns for the day. Crawford will be back tomorrow to tell us how much more he doesn't remember.

IMO and my gut feeling....All these witnesses are afraid if AH, his gang, still to this day...no matter what Baez may say

Master Crawford the I don't remember scared to death young man. I fear AH far more than the Courts I think. Believe these last few witnesses are part and parcel of one of the charges against AH "Witness tampering".

Yes, all part of that witness intimidation charge, but also goes to Bradley's believability in testifying. No one wants to be a snitch.

Thanks for the links LindyLoo, as I will need to watch 'in full' as I was not able to today.

AHA___There's ^^^ the dark SUV the witness saw leaving the crime scene?

I think todays testimonies, as painstaking as they were, were VITALLY crucial. These 'forgetful' idiots reluctantly placed AH and AB together in a dark colored vehicle, leaving Tootsies that night.

ANNNND the state got them admitting they remember NOTHING of that night, ONLY what is 'on the paper'---[GJ testimony]

This is crucial. Because it prevents Baez from putting them up on the stand to make up a BS story later on. They cannot testify later on that AB never returned from the club with them, or that they saw AB leaving with some drug dealers. That is crucial to prevent Baez from pulling some thing like that when he puts on his case.

As tedious and boring as it was, I think today was awesome for the State.

Also, it is perfect for the CW that these witnesses were resistant and reluctant to testify. This proves to the jury that they are not just lying because they are AB's friends or something.

Exactly.

I think the jury is getting an eyeful of who AH hung with, and the CW isn't done with witnesses yet. Everyone with an immunity deal.

What must the jury be thinking about these witnesses and their testimony? They can't remember ANYTHING (or so they say). The last witness was over the top with his lack of memory.

Excellent point, Katy, about Baez not being able to make up a story later on and have them change their account of the events since they have no memory of anything---as they've stated.

thanks for giving the only rational explaination for today's testimony (or lack thereof). I frank thought it was awful for the CW but I do that your point. I am troubled by the constant going back and forth from Boston to Florida and frankly find this case confusing.
I don't know about others but I did think some of Sullivans outrage this morning war warranted...the judge does rush some things too much and puts the pressure on due to the jury. That is okay once in a while but he does it constantly and more when the defense is arguing.

It may seem confusing to us. But I don't think it will confuse the jurors. They will have written documents, timelines, their notes, etc. They will talk it over with each other, step by step.

And I don't blame the CW for the confusion. It is very difficult to put on TWO murder cases within one trial. The witnesses are coming in from Boston and Miami. It is very hard to schedule things under those conditions. If ALL the witnesses and experts were local then it would have been much easier to schedule things in a more linear fashion.

The CW is forced to go back and forth between the two crimes because they are totally interwoven. They cannot ignore that this witness was shot in the face by the defendant. So they are literally trying 3 murders within one trial. Very hard for them to pull off.

I think Sullivan was pushing things a bit just to try and get the judge to back off today and keep some of the witnesses today more limited. The defense did not want that Grand Jury testimony admitted into this trial. I think that is why Sullivan was screaming UNFAIR so that the judge would step back. I don't think it worked though.

The judge does cut them off but I think it is often warranted. Baez and Sullivan both like to go on and on and enter into questionable territory to try and get things in by blurting stuff out in front of the jury. I think that makes the judge angry.

And he does it more often when the defense is talking because they are very long winded and meandering. lol

Wow...so just watching this beginning of day before the jury... About the 24:00 mark, Locke mentioned that Pierre was supposed to be the Cape Verdean gang guy who supposedly shot Bradley (according to the defense).

Then about the 28:00 mark is when Sullivan flips on Locke. You really need to watch from 24:00 on & watch Sullivan pace angrily back & forth (if you missed it).
