Oh how I hate to hear he’s being looked for by the river. Prayers going up. We need a win.

Police Conducting Search for Missing 11-Year-Old Chicopee Boy
They're searching again now.
The description of his clothing sounds like he may have been sledding or something.
Praying!
Great thought swannie11! My first thought was I was glad he was dressed warmly but didn’t even think of him being dressed for that kind of activity.

I pray he didn’t sled into the water by accident

When I was a kid the best sledding was out at the lake because the hills sloped down to the ice and you’d slide forever. This being a river, not so much ice.
Praying Aidan comes home safe.

Update on joint search of the Connecticut/Chicopee river search February 6, 2021
The Chicopee Police Department continues to investigate missing 11 yr old Aiden Blanchard. The Chicopee Police Detective Bureau is following all leads and continues to be in contact with his family. Aiden’s family has placed posters throughout the area requesting any information to be forwarded to the Chicopee Detective Bureau.

The Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, and Drone unit along with boat and dive teams from the Massachusetts State Police, South Hadley Fire, Chicopee Police, and Chicopee Fire Departments searched the waterways of the Chicopee, and Connecticut Rivers extensively. Due to high winds and inclement weather as well as no other evidence located during this search, the teams have paused. They will reevaluate based on weather conditions and as new information is received.

Detectives are asking that anyone with home video in the Willimansett area specifically near the Old Field Road neighborhood please review February 5th between the hours of 11:00 AM until 12:00PM. In an effort to locate Aiden on video. Again Aiden is 5’ feet tall,100lbs, and was last seen wearing black ski pants and a red coat. Anyone with potential video is asked to contact The Chicopee Police Detective Bureau at 413-594-1740. We do not suspect foul play at this time but we are looking for all Information.

Originally they said they were looking at the water area " out of precaution" but now it seems like that is the only focus. Maybe he was with others who witnessed something and that's why they're leaning towards the water. So very sad, Praying I'm wrong. IMO
If he were with others or there was a witness, there would be no need for LE to ask citizens to review their camera footage right?
It feels more like he was alone. If he went to the boat ramp to sled, wouldn't they have said his sled was missing from his home or something to that effect?

The snow has made it too dangerous to resume the search on Sunday but police are spending their time following up on leads that may help locate the child, she said.

“We will assess the information that comes in and resume the search if needed,” Davis said.

Aiden may have been in the area of Old Field Road. If anyone in that neighborhood especially has any type of surveillance camera they are asked to review footage between 11 a.m. Friday and midnight on Saturday to see he may have been caught on camera to help police track where he may have walked, she said.
