Mini-shades of Alec Murdaugh, this guy, IMO, hiding his malfeasance and crimes as long as he can get away with it and then thinking he can just play dumb about all the moving parts and pieces as his evil deeds catch up with him.

But BW is even creepier than AM in some way I can't quite put my finger on, except for maybe he lacks some of the polish & finesse that AM inherited from growing up in a powerful family and dynasty type of environment.

Though I'm not sure which or if one of them is the worse human being -- the unpolished or the polished t*rd.

MOO
I agree. Although both are cowards that conned weaker and/or less suspecting victims, BW is a loner and a very small man. AM continues to use his physical stature in his alpha role behind bars. MOO

Thanks for posting this @Gardenista - its a good read. I found it curious that the couple named their first child after Brian's father. At that point they were married and living with Brian's Mom in her place in the Back Bay and Brian was estranged from the father.

Quote from the story :
"By then, Ana had left behind her life in DC and moved in with Brian and his mother at 225 Beacon. In July of the following year, the newlyweds welcomed their first child. They named him Thomas, after Brian’s father."

Finally, somebody made it clear the sociopath is not a clinical or psychiatric diagnosis!

From the quoted link:

According to a sworn affidavit by his father’s close friend, Brian even spent time in the Berkshires at a psychiatric hospital, where he was “diagnosed as a sociopath.” (Sociopath is not an official psychiatric diagnosis, but is often used colloquially to refer to someone who has an antisocial personality disorder, which is characterized by a disregard for others, a lack of empathy, and dishonest behavior.) At the same time, “being accepted by others was survival for Brian,” his former best friend said, adding that money wasn’t Brian’s endgame but rather something he used in order to build relationships and buy acceptance. “It was all pay-to-play for him.”

Who are the children with now?
Who they are with hasn't been reported, but as of two months ago they were in foster care.
  • The children are in foster care, "they are friendly faces," the children are together, and relatives are involved.
  • Hans (the family dog) is also in foster care with a retired police officer.
  • Video is from 2 months ago.

The timeline in this article begins in 2018 and ends on March 30 when BW was indicted.

According to Brian Walshe's statements to police included in an affidavit, he and his wife hosted a New Year's Eve dinner at their home with a friend named Gem.

Brian and Ana Walshe went to bed shortly after the friend left around 1 or 1:30 a.m., he told investigators, the affidavit states. Ana Walshe said she had a work emergency and needed to fly to Washington for her job the next morning, he told police.

January 1, 2023

As Brian Walshe told police, in the morning Ana Walshe "got ready and kissed him goodbye and told him to go back to sleep," the affidavit states. She usually took an Uber, Lyft or Taxi to the airport and left between 6 and 7 a.m., the affidavit states.

According to prosecutors, he made a series of Google searches on his son's iPad, including "How long before a body starts to smell," "10 ways to dispose of a dead body if you really need to," "How long for someone to be missing to inherit," and "How to clean blood from wooden floor."
He further told police a babysitter arrived in the afternoon and he left home to get groceries at about 3 p.m., the affidavit states.

He told police he then went to see his mother at about 4 p.m. in Swampscott, about an hour drive from Cohasset, but did not have his cell phone and got lost, making the trip longer than usual, the affidavit states. He said he left his mother's home within about 15 minutes of arriving to run errands for her at Whole Foods and CVS and eventually returned home to Cohasset at about 8 p.m., according to the affidavit.

January 2

Ana Walshe's cell phone pinged in the area of their Cohasset home on January 1 and 2, according to prosecutor Lynn Beland.

As Brian Walshe told investigators, he took one of his children for ice cream at a juice bar in Norwell on January 2 while the babysitter watched his two other kids, the affidavit states. Investigators confirmed this trip occurred, the affidavit states.

He went to Home Goods and purchased three rugs, prosecutors said.

Just after noon, he made several more Google searches: "Hacksaw best tool to dismember," "Can you be charged with murder without a body," and "Can you identify a body with broken teeth," according to prosecutors.

According to surveillance video, Brian Walshe traveled to a Home Depot in Rockland wearing a surgical mask and gloves and made a cash purchase, the affidavit states. There, Walshe bought $450 of cleaning supplies, including mops, a bucket, tarps, goggles, a hatchet and baking soda, according to Beland.

1/18/23 Update: Arraignment hearing was held. Walshe plead not guilty. Next status hearing on 2/9/23 via Zoom.
2/9/23 Update: Walshe appeared via Zoom from the Norfolk County Correctional Center in Dedham. Discussed a continuance. The expectation is that this matter will be finished in the Grand Jury by the end of March, but hopefully mid-March per prosecutor Greg Connor. Defense attorney Tracy Miner says she has received "basically nothing." They haven't even received the search warrants. Judge Marilyn Horan asked both sides to get all discovery completed as soon as possible. Defense is asking for the status conference to be moved about three weeks out. Continued to Wednesday, 3/1/23 via Zoom for status hearing. Walshe remains held without bond. After that hearing, the court is set to hear the state’s probable cause argument, where it will determine if there is enough evidence against Walshe for a murder trial.
2/27/23 Update: The office of Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey said Monday that the case involving Walshe was continued from Wednesday, 3/1/23 to 4/4/23 in Quincy District Court. A status conference was scheduled for March 1. After Walshe is indicted by a grand Jury, the case against him will move to Norfolk Superior Court. Prosecutors said earlier this month that could happen by mid-March.
3/30/23 Update: A Norfolk County grand jury announced that three indictments against Walshe were issued including the murder of his wife, for misleading a police investigation/obstruction of justice & for the improper conveyance of a human body. The indictment moves the case up to the Norfolk Superior Court. Norfolk DA Michael W. Morrisey says he will be arraigned in the coming weeks. Re-arraignment hearing for all charges has not yet been set. Case was moved to Superior Court so the status hearing on 4/4/23 in District has been cancelled.
3/30/23 Update: DA Morrissey said his office would provide the arraignment date as soon as it was finalized by Norfolk Superior Court. Walshe remains held without bail. In Massachusetts, a conviction of murder in the first degree carries a mandatory life sentence in prison without the possibility of parole. 4/5/23 Update: Walshe will appear in North Superior Court for re-arraignment hearing on 4/27/23 @ 10am for all charges.

Yes they do, Eli! I can't even keep up, lol.

He googled "How to clean concrete"

The basement floor is concrete

The door to the basement has a security lock and the babysitter and children could not access it
He also googled luxury watches - I mean WT heck!!
His mom helped him hire the private investigator
And now we learn he returned to lowes and bought a 2nd tyveck suit

In the basement, 8 stains tested positive for blood.

BW's Volvo also tested positive for blood in three different areas.

The rugs found in the dumpster were consistent with those that had been replaced in the home and they also had bloodstains.
