  • Police Chief Quigley said there's been "no electronic footprint of her" at all since Jan 1st.
  • Her husband was sleeping when she left, the chief said, adding she was presumably called to a work emergency in DC.
  • The fire began in the attic.
  • The chief said they're getting help from the TSA, FBI and Secret Service as well as Massachusetts State Police and detectives from Hingham, Hull, Norwell and Scituate.

  • Friends said she was supposed to catch a flight Sunday from Boston to DC
  • She left her home Sunday at around 4 a.m.
  • Chief Quigley said they are investigating reports that she got into a rideshare vehicle but can’t confirm that she did
  • Quigley confirmed that she did not board a flight
  • “We have nothing to support anything suspicious or criminal.”
  • She was reported missing on Wednesday by her husband and her employer
  • Quigley said it was reported that Ana had her luggage with her
  • Her cellphone has been off since the first of the year
  • No evidence that her debit, or credit cards have been used
  • A K-9 unit searched the area of Ana’s home in Cohasset
  • LE also searched her D.C. townhome and verified that her vehicle is still there
BBM.
I wonder how big the suitcase is that is now not at the home?

LE is searching close to Ana's current home. Something is leading them there? Maybe security cameras tell the story, or at least indicate no cars came or went from the home in the relevant time frame ...
I'm wondering too.....what led them there? Seems that they are being quite thorough about that wooded area.
Scent dogs?
Camera surveillance? of what? a moving light like a flashlight? a person? carrying a duffle bag, suitcase? ugh.
If no vehicle came or went from the house, then how did Ana leave?
Was Ana actually at home that night before 4 am? But evidently her MIL saw her leave. ??
Baffled.

Maybe cameras see something interesting between Cohasset Imports and Stop & Shop (3A)?

I am wondering if the current owners of 725 Jerusalem Rd were home over the New Year’s weekend? A lot of people travel that week? If that home was unoccupied December 31st through January 1, could it be possible there is evidence in that attic that someone wanted to destroy?

I am relieved to hear the current owners escaped the fire there today. However, I have no way of understanding that a fire was started in the attic today at around 2:30pm while the current owners were home? If someone wanted to destroy evidence, it couldn’t be while the current owners were home could it?

Reporter - So who actually told investigators that they thought she was taking a flight (inaudible) taking a rideshare to (inaudible). Was that her husband?.

LE - That came from family members.

Reporter - And this is something that she traditionally does - not because she said to someone she was taking a flight in the morning?.

LE - This is not out of the ordinary. She does take flights to DC, weekly. She did have a flight booked. There was a flight booked. There was a ticket issued for the 3rd of January. Again, this occurred on the 1st and we cannot confirm a flight on the 1st.

Reporter - Is that concerning?.

LE - We're looking at everything. It's been reported that she was called to DC to handle some type of emergency at one of the properties that she manages, that's why she was attempting to go to DC early. She did have a flight booked for the 3rd, but she never got on that flight.

Reporter - And, again, you haven't confirmed that she got any other flight?.

LE - It's been confirmed she she did not get on any flight last week.

Reporter - Right, but her actual ticket was for the 3rd, but presumably she was leaving to go on to an earlier flight?.

LE - Correct.

Reporter - And I assume there's been no credit card activity, bank account activity or anything like that?.

LE - We're working with the credit card companies, but, at this point, there's been no electronic footprint, at all.
Thank you.

==========================================

And LE confirmed there was no record of any of her credit cards booking that flight on the 1st either...

SO IT FEELS TO ME LIKE THAT STORY ABOUT HER HAVING TO SUDDENLY GRAB A NEW FLIGHT TO DC IS A BUNCH OF BUNK.

I mean, she reportedly loves her 3 little boys very much. She is away from them all week, every week. So finally it is Christmas Holiday, and then New Years Weeknd, and she has the wonderful chance to spend quality time with her little guys.
And someone has some issue with their property, and she is going to fly home before her vacation is really over? What for?

Who asked her to or expected her to do so? I'd like to hear her boss explain that they told her to cut her family holiday short and return home on New Years day. Because I do not believe that actually happened.

Her company did not report her missing until Wednesday. If they had expected her to fly back 3 days earlier because of a business emergency, why did they wait until Wednesday to report her missing?
BBM, Apparently her employer would not confirm the alleged emergency.

When does the third shoe drop (so to speak)?

Definitely not looking like a non-crime to me.

moo

I have what they call a rather extreme case of resting *witch face, and have had to deal with misconceptions about my mood or tone or whatever, my entire life. So, for that reason alone, I have to heartily disagree that the eyes always have it. Mine *always* look incredibly angry, even when I'm perfectly happy.
As a woman on the autism spectrum (& one who masked quite a bit, esp in social situations), I second this!

"Her husband was sleeping when she left, the chief said, adding she was presumably called to a work emergency in DC." BBM.

Police chief don't usually "presume" anything. The fact that the police chief chose this phrasing is clearly strategic. There's no way LE did not confirm with Ana's company if there indeed was a work emergency that required her presence on Jan 1.

An attic fire seems super weird? What could possibly catch fire in your attic? In New England it's usually just super insulated.
My neighbor had a fire that started in the attic. Apparently it was an electrical fire which began in the wires in internal walls and it smoldered for quite awhile then burst into flames in early morning---very scary fire.
