10:32 a.m. update: GPS data shows O’Keefe never entered the house at 34 Fairview Road

Guarino read messages between Read and Laura Sullivan just after 1 p.m. on Jan. 29, after Sullivan texted Read asking her to call her. Read told Sullivan O’Keefe was dead, and that he had been found outside in the snow at 5 a.m.

“He left the party we were at. I don’t know what time. I didn’t even go in, I went to bed,” Read wrote when Sullivan asked why O’Keefe was outside.

...

Guarino said Read made three calls on the morning of Jan. 29 to a phone number listed as both “Mom” and “Dad” in her contacts, at 1:10, 4:40 and 4:42 a.m. The first two calls were not picked up but the third was.

Guarino said that while Read’s cellphone did not record any location data on the morning of Jan. 29 and that this was most likely because location services were turned off on her cellphone, he was able to recover location and health data from O’Keefe’s cellphone.

...

Between 12:25 and 6:15 a.m., O’Keefe’s cellphone did not register any movement.

Thank goodness this attorney is a credible attorney and not some whackadoodle mouthpiece for #KarenRead, being spoon-fed answers by Read's Defense team.

This attorney knows the law and is Spot on, and is based in reality, not pink glitter and green slime.

Read is accused of killing #JohnOkeefe.

The CW will move forward because the evidence shows Read hit John.

There was absolutely no verdict and Read's attorneys know it. This was a public perception smear campaign, as we have seen in the past.

Way to slam the door.

Koodos to @CourtTV for their choice of guests.

  • 11:30 a.m. After a recess, Assistant District Attorney Laura McLaughlin tells the judge prosecutors want to show jurors a google search for DUI attorneys that Read allegedly conducted at 1:27pm on the day O'Keefe died.
  • 10:15 a.m. Guarino says they determined where the phone was located at 12:25 a.m. within an area of three feet, says that area is 72 feet from the front door of the house.
  • 10:12 a.m. Guarino says he was able to map the route O'Keefe's phone took from the Waterfall bar to 34 Fairview Rd. Says they drove on Cedarcrest, went past Fairview Rd and made 3-point turn to come back to the intersection.
  • 10:07 a.m. Guarino says he and Proctor went to scene on Feb 8 and took measurements, including distance between where O'Keefe was found and the house.
  • 10:05 a.m. Guarino says the geo-location precision depends on the cell phone signal strength. Says the signal at 34 Fairview Rd is "not great."
  • 10 a.m. Guarino says they also found a Waze search on O'Keefe's phone for 34 Fairview Road, says it shows phone arrived at the address at 12:24 a.m. and stayed within a 3-feet area for the entire night.

  • 10:30 a.m. Tully says cell phone data shows Read's phone was somewhere on the red arc on this map at 5:18 a.m. (Prosecution is trying to suggest Read went back to 34 Fairview before going to McCabe's residence.)
  • 10:15 a.m. Tully describes how they use cell tower data to track phone movements. Says phones usually connect to closest tower but not always. Says phones connect to tower for data even when the phone is not actively being used.
  • 9:55 a.m. Tully testifies that the SUV would have had time to go back to 34 Fairview Road before continuing on to McCabe residence. He says without the detour to the scene, the time of travel is too short.
  • 9:45 a.m. Jury is shown photos from surveillance video that shows Read's SUV in several locations
  • 9:25 a.m. Tully says they gathered surveillance video from the town library and from Temple Beth Abraham in Canton for the timeframes 12 a.m. to 1 a.m. and 5-6 a.m. Says those are the times Read was traveling in the area.
  • 9:20 a.m. Tully says O'Keefe's arm abrasions had a certain pattern. Says blunt force from objects can leave such patterns. Starts to say, "I'd be comfortable to say the marks on Mr. O'Keefe are consistent with..." Defense objects. Judge sustains.
  • 9:15 a.m. Tully says the legal requirement for a search warrant is that a location more likely than not contains evidence. Says they had no indication O'Keefe ever entered the home.
  • 9:10 a.m. Lt. Brian Tully, who oversees the state police detective unit at the Norfolk DA's Office, returns to the witness stand. Prosecutor Adam Lally continues his questioning about the evidence search at 34 Fairview Road. Says they didn't search inside because they didn't have any reason to believe they'd find evidence.

This photo has been provided to me by the loved ones of #JohnOKeefe with the request that we flood social media with this image. HE is the victim. Just him - not #KarenRead, with her hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations from gullible trash people that fund her expensive dinners, hotel stays, tailored suits and beauty services. He left this earth too soon, and if that wasn't painful enough for those he left behind, the harassment, disparagement, threats and intimidation attempts ordered by Karen and carried out by a blogger and his mob certainly are. This is about Justice for John ONLY. If they get away with doing this to him and his family, you and yours could be next.

Paul O’Keefe said he had planned to see his brother the day before he died, but they canceled because of a coming snowstorm. Their last communication was in a group text with family members. John O’Keefe was excited, he said, because their niece had been accepted to a private high school.

Much of the O’Keefe family’s civil complaint mirrors the assertions of prosecutors, with the family’s attorneys stating in court papers that the officer was killed as a “direct and/or proximate cause of Read’s drunk driving.”

McCarthy’s served Read seven alcoholic beverages between 8:58 p.m. and 10:29 p.m., and she showed “signs of intoxication” at the bar, the complaint alleges. The bar “acted with gross negligence,” it says.

"I look forward to Attorney Brennan working in concert with the trial team of Assistant District Attorneys Adam Lally, Laura McLaughlin, and Caleb Schillinger," Morrissey said.
