@OldCop considered the possiblity that he went to the Police station to monitor reports. Was there reports of a body found, other reports related to the events, which makes a lot of sense. My instinct is that BH was trying to avoid committing perjury by stating that he saw a tall man show up briefly. MOO
Yes I agree. He wanted to see what and when the call would come in. But how bold to go back to the Canton police station under the influence of so much alcohol “to move vehicles around” and he also walked around the station to various places and floors inside in that state. Did not one of the on duty cops smell him? The dispatch cop testified he saw him. It makes no sense to me. Also, he’s still operating police vehicles while UTI when moving cars around.

Midnight shift, snowy night, the station was probably pretty quiet, not much activity in or out. BH didn’t come in the front door where you usually have a duty supervisor and maybe a clerk who would take any walk-in reports. Where he came in, he may have been visible to the dispatch officer, although I don’t know the layout of that particular station.
He said the Chief gave him an office at the station. He may have spent some time in there hunkered down, monitoring the scanner. He probably didn’t have a whole lot of interaction with other officers and there would be a lot fewer on duty for that shift in a smaller, low crime, town.
The station is a little unusual. It is a beautiful old school building. It likely has corridors with various offices running off it, many of which were probably closed on the late shift.
The whole car shuffle at the station could have been his excuse for going there that night although it is possible there were designated off limit parking spots during snow removal. I believe BH testified he had to move his police vehicles, plural. Why would a LEO be assigned more than one vehicle. Regardless, he shouldn’t have been driving at all that night.

Yes, perhaps he knew hardly anyone would be there, but still! What nerve!
I can't get over how daring he was to go into his place of employment - a police station - under the influence of alcohol, and operate police vehicles, and not one person called him on it.
I can imagine he had went to work after drinking many, many times before too.
I have a feeling he no longer has access to an office there since he's no longer 'working in the field', as per Jackson's cross. That's likely one reason he had to get a lawyer once they found that out, as well as the phone extraction (at the federal agency).

In the witness listing, Higgins was indicated as being from Sandwich MA. He testified to being divorced...Center to center of towns, Sandwich is 55 miles from Canton. While there were certainly alternatives to going to the Canton police station, this might explain why he did not drive home as one might expect. Being UTI, bunking down for a few hours might make more sense than getting on the road for more than an hour. With consideration of the predicted weather....
MOO and might be making excuses.

Assistant District Attorney Adam Lally received an unsolicited voicemail and three emails from alleged jurors on Sunday, July 21, who claimed, “It is true what has come out recently about the jury being unanimous on charges 1 and 3.”
...
On Friday, July 26, prosecutors say Lally received another unsolicited voicemail from the same individual, stating: “Can confirm unanimous on charges one and three, as not guilty and as of last vote 9-3 guilty on the manslaughter charges...on the lower-level manslaughter charges.”

This filing came after Kristina Rex's reporting even though some of these communications date back a couple of weeks. I suspect the DA's office wanted to keep silent about what they heard from jurors, but her report forced their hand.

I'm starting to see some videos like these as news organizations are starting to dig deeper into the police corruption not only in Canton, but other areas in Mass.

I wonder if Trooper P collected glass fragments from the headlights in this case?

IMO, there is so much more to this. It's like peeling back the onion. I'm going to assume that if this group of people that consistantly hang together, and that see the eachother at the same places at whatever is going on, that going forward this incident will split them up or break them apart. It's like seeing eachother will be a reminder and too painful or ???

I personally think Brian Higgins is already on the outs after everything... he's been MIA

I imagine BH is the outsider now, as well as Proctor.
If nobody knew when BH left, how can they be sure he didn't fight with JOK outside when he was leaving.
And if he wasn't involved, the last thing I imagine he'd want is be reminded of that night by seeing the Alberts again.
Proctor must be hurting badly if he felt he was protecting the Alberts, only to be fired essentially.
No, it's not official, but I don't see any way he will regain his job back. How could he be trusted? He will have a long way to go to climb back up IMO. How does he feel about the Alberts now.
The rest of them proved to be enmeshed with each other. They have a sick, co-dependent relationship. So much so, that we can't tell where one ends and the other begins.
Jen, Matt, Brian, Nicole, Chris, Julie, Kevin - they're all related, so they will stick together in their denial. Even If they suspect or actually know that any of the other family members were involved, they will not talk about it, not acknowledge it. Do the rest of them ever wonder about Chloe's involvement?
I think you're right that when they see each other, it will be a painful reminder of that night.
Every year on Brian Jr's birthday.
The elephant in the room will always be there.
I don't imagine any more nights at the Waterfall!
And then there's all those incompetent cops...

January 2025. But the judge even admitted her ruling on the motion to dismiss two of the charges will almost certainly result in an appeal being filed by the losing side. So the odds of a new trial even happening at any time in 2025 aren't high.
The judge maybe banking on KR financial circumstances. Can she afford to appeal? Moo

Iirc he also rented a room local to Boston metro - I want to say Roslindale or Jamaica Plain - I remember this from his testimony.
JMO.

West Roxbury, which is a Boston neighborhood eight to ten miles from the Canton police station.
I was close! West Rox is pretty much bordered by Jamaica P and Roslindale. All part of Boston’s south western neighborhood’s along with Hyde Park.

@HarmonyE. i know while testifying he said who he rented from - did he say it was a widow if you know ? Thanks
