This is exactly my thoughts as well.
Yes, people do leave on their own, for various reasons. However, most don't. Those that do, usually have either depression issues, are in trouble with the law somehow, or try to leave an abusive relationship. Most don't make plans with others, move closer to their children recently, have their car fixed, then leave- especially their precious doggie without food and water.
To our knowledge, Sandra had none of those things going on. Her family is legitimately worried. As I mentioned before- in the case of the McCall's, it took their children forever for LE to take the case serious- no sign of a struggle at the house doesn't mean that they went willingly! Someone could have had a gun pointed at Sandra, maybe even threatened to hurt her or her family or dog, and she may have gone willingly, hoping for the best- probably like Jerry and Susan McCall.
It angers me when cases like this aren't taken seriously. I mean, where in the heck did LE get that Sandra might be around the homeless and connections to the homeless- what does that even mean? Did she previously volunteer at a homeless shelter, make meals for the homeless- where did this connection come from, and what made them conclude in the very beginning that she might be amongst the homeless in some capacity, ESPECIALLY when her car was in the shop for repairs!!!!!!! How did they think she got there? Walking late at night? On a whim, she just decided in the middle of the night to go, um, where exactly, to get to this homeless connection? Did they ever define exactly what that homeless connection was?
I am just angry for her family and dog right now. Something happened to this woman, in my opinion. I just can't help but think of the McCall's- nothing seemed out of place to LE. Also, even in Kelsey Berreth's case, LE did a check through her condo, didn't see nothing out of the ordinary, didn't bother with using luminol- it was Kelsey's family that found a few things that they showed to LE, indicating something happened to her at her condo on Thanksgiving.
With some (NOT all) LE, I sometimes wonder why they don't take families serious when they say their loved one would never leave like this. Again, just because nothing was obvious to them to the naked eye, doesn't mean that a gun wasn't pointed at her or that if there was indeed foul play that occurred at her home- the killer could have done a decent clean up job, like in Kelsey's case.
I hope that she is alive and well somewhere, but my gut tells me that's not the case here.
Wasn't the McStay house and car all hunky dorie too? And they were murdered by the business partner? Do I have that right?
