Wonder if she smoked inside her house?
No porch unless she just stood on that little step stoop into the house.
I was wondering that too, my guess is no since she watches her grandchildren and has a dog, she probably got in the habit of smoking outside, just outside that back/side door. And this brings me to a thought, so she just purchased cigs at Cumbys the grandkids were in the truck most likely she wanted a cig so when getting back home stayed outside and lit one up and maybe that is why SIL did not see which door she went in. This is all my own speculation of course.

Hi all, I just listened to the podcast again just to hear if I missed anything and also refresh my memory on some things, in the beginning Sandra was described as wearing tanktop, pink capri and flip flops when last seen (Cumberland Farms) getting cigs, later when Mike is speaking with Laina she said that the clothes she was wearing were not there(assumed she still had them on) and that her SNEAKERS were missing no mention of flip flops so if indeed she was wearing flip flops were they at her home?? When/why did she change into sneakers? Was Sandra the type to remove her shoes upon entering the house, like leave her shoes at the door? I know some people remove some don't but it hit me like huh that is strange, but also maybe she was wearing sneakers all along and they got it wrong. Sorry I just felt like I needed to get these things out there.
All my own questions and speculations

is there a pic of her showing her feet from cumberland the one I saw does not show, it looks like she is getting out if truck while it is still moving/stopping since breaklight is on the back of the cab so her stance in awkward like she is hopping out quickly.

I think the video one part she is walking back to the truck. I can't remember what she wore on her feet, just that she was looking down at the ground

I found the video, if you Google Sandra crispo video from Cumberland farms channel 7 has it. It looks like she had flip flops on
Thank you, I watched a few times now and I really cant tell, could she be wearing open back sneakers and that's why Laina said sneakers? If she was wearing legit flip flops, were they at her house???

At the time she went missing, the shoes were reported to be slip on type sneakers with an open heel. Everything I read about the missing clothes indicated they were the same shoes.

Thank you, I get so caught up in details (which I know is good) but sometimes it sends me off in a direction to nowhere. I know fellow sleuthers will be there to help and that is appreciated.

I am still curious if she typically removed her shoes upon entering the house or if she wore them around the house.

I just traveled to Sandra's Spofford Ave home for the first time, and here's a couple of observations: Her road and home is amongst the smallest, tightest cluster of homes I have ever seen. The homes are so close together, that while sitting in Sandra's driveway, I could clearly hear a quiet conversation between two people, two houses down even in the rain. Her street is a dirt road off of another dirt road off of another dirt road, and all of these roads are so narrow that one car can barely make it through, never mind two. If any vehicle were to drive down this network of roads to Sandra's home, it would HAVE to be seen by one of the many neighbors that it would pass by. There's an old stupid cliche about extremely rural areas - "If a strange car drives down the street, it was an exciting day". If there was any type of a loud struggle in Sandra's home the night that she disappeared, it DEFINITELY would have been heard by one of the neighbors in extremely close proximity. My thoughts: 1. Sandra left the house willingly with someone she knew. 2. AT LEAST one of the neighbors has information about the vehicle that took her. 3. Her murder took place elsewhere 4. She was taken at dusk (her lights and AC were on, but if she was taken in the middle of the night, EVERYONE in the neighborhood would've heard the vehicle drive down the street). 5. More than one person took her. 6. Sandra knew her killers
I have to agree... the thing for me is the missing purse and shoes. If someone killed her in the house, and wrapped her in the missing sheet, he might grab the purse, to steal the contents, but he wouldn’t grab her shoes. And we know that she was dressed, so it almost certainly wasn’t the middle of the night. Thanks for your info on the house/area: very helpful. Sounds to me like someone she knew showed up, roughed her up, and made her leave with them. We can surmise that she didn’t leave voluntarily bc the dog was left alone and all the lights on. She left in a hurry.

This is fantastic info. My first thought is "maybe that is why the daughter was so miffed at the neighbors" during the podcast. I know a number of other posters noticed how the daughter talked about the neighbors.

Her daughter's frustration with the behavior of the neighbors is sad to hear too. Rough bunch. Not all, but ...

This was one of the most interesting parts of the podcast to me. It made me think how her version is just that...her side of the story. Could there have been a reason the neighbors acted the way they did (not saying it was a "good" reason) and what might that have been?

I'm with keek - someone does not want to be involved. How incredibly frustrating for her family. And I have to add, Sandra's life before she moved seems like a bit of a black hole. If we knew more, maybe we could speculate as to who would come pick her up. Did she pick such an out-of-the-way new home for a particular reason, or just because it suited her? Truly such a mystery.

But due to our great eyespy poster above, I bet they'd of seen headlights at least or maybe heard the car and peeked out, pretty 'nervy' driving up to that house the way the location is described as they'd not know all a/c's on etc. or people outside hanging out etc. I know, unbelievable no notice reported. I think someone did not want to get involved.

I haven’t listened to the entire podcast yet, but these things caught my attention.
1) When did Sandra move into the “family home”? While her father was still living? To take care of him?
2) A homebody. Kept to herself. No cell phone or computer. What did she do all day when she wasn’t babysitting? Watch tv? Needlepoint? No friends that would stop by?
Did Sandra go to her daughters house on her days off to interact with her daughter and husband? Not much interaction if she is just dropping off the kids and hubby picking them up in evening.
3) Guess SIL did not know Sandra well. Her daughter said multiple times - a homebody.
So why would SIL say she was out with a neighbor if she did not interact with her neighbors? And she only lived 7 minutes away- if her daughter was that worried from noon at the beach when her mother didn’t answer - why didn’t she just pop over to check on her?
4) Tell us about your mother. She adored her grandchildren, her age and height. Geez, how about something personal to give us a clue about her habits, likes, anything.

The lack of cell phone and computer is odd.
How the heck did she manage her finances without email or digital access?
Did her daughter manage those for her?

Did her daughter manage those for her?[/QUOTE I've been reading other information since her posts about being missing where there is background information on some things. No personal information as you say. But between the lines of some of those other places I have a strong feeling there was a 'shaky' personal background and mixing in a situation that was/is suspect in her vanishing. She had a cell at one point. I think she was just thought of as a homebody as she did just move to that area and it was summer and just 'hung out' and enjoyed doing her new home up. Her other life when living in Quincy was not the same as when she moved to Hanson for those past few months. People she associated with etc were not close by. I think, knowing both areas, that people in Quincy would be, WHERE are you moving too? Where's THAT?. So life changed in that way. She was only there a few months. So, yes, it's someone that knew where she was exactly as off the beaten path as well. Her daughter did say in hindsight how she wishes she did go over to see where she was, but naturally never thought anything like this. She herself is super busy/ working as a nurse, small children and just managing their lives and assumed her mother was probably just not hearing the phone etc..
The bottom line though, is that the State Police are working their way through with their investigation as last read elsewhere. I believe her handbag was not there, but I don't think there is any issues with the shoes as was questioned above, just diff wording with her 'footwear'

Quincy to Hanson isn’t that far away?
17-18 miles? 30 minute drive?

I’m guessing her daughter has lived in Hanson for a while so it wouldn’t be an unknown place to the family.

Unless none of the family has never been to see the daughter?

Did Sandra visit her daughter frequently before the move? (Since she adored the grandchildren and enjoyed babysitting- not a long drive to go see them)

Or was she babysitting the children when she lived in Quincy?

I believe her daughter lives in the next town over, but about ten minutes away. I wondered too, if she babysat the grand's while living in Quincy, but I think I read that she did and that she 'came around more' once her daughter had the babies. No, it's just that Quincy and Hanson are very different worlds and not sure her friends or so from Quincy would make the trek, but Sandra might of gone back there of course for visits. Assuming this only. Her son lives in Quincy still, a part of it called Houghs Neck where Sandra lived with her father, before he passed away, by the ocean. She would of visited her son and vice versa I'd think by the looks of their relationship in other media per him.

So, this is an interesting point. Was her caregiver relationship with the grandchildren relatively new or long-standing. I believe her daughter said she works at Boston Medical Center so to drop the kids in Quincy to/from work is not out of the way (though the Hough's Neck neighborhood in Quincy IS off the highway a bit, it's definitely doable). However, we really only know what the daughter said in the podcast about their relationship. It wasn't close until the kids and then she started coming around more.

@keek I agree with everything in your post except that people in Quincy would have a "where's THAT?" reaction about Hanson. I feel everything along that south shore corridor is known and familiar to people here. So that's contrary to my experience just like Sandra's daughter saying Sandra wouldn't know where Fall River is didn't ring true.

Choosing a house in that neighborhood makes sense because it was close to her daughter's family in Pembroke while being quite inexpensive as far as MA real estate goes.
