Just what I was thinking , makes me wonder if the Portuguese Police have/know more than they are letting on regarding evidence and DNA, still as they say, till, time will tell.
 
Hello - I am new to this site and have spent the last couple weeks just observing and reading. I, of course, knew about the McCann tragedy but haven't read so much in detail about it until recently. One question that keeps popping up as I read is what about the waiter staff at the Tapas Bar that night? Have they been interviewed? From the timeline of events the Tapas 9 gave they make it sound like they were practically falling all over eachother to go check on the kids. If I were their waiter(tress) I surely would of noticed people constantly getting up and down also if these people were hanging out their often during their visit I would thing the staff would have become a little familiar with them, their demeanor, how much they were drinking(the descrepancy regarding how much they had to drink - surely the police could pull up the restaraunt receipts).
I apologize if these questions have been addressed previously.

This is just the latest from the wait staff. There have been other "reports" but no others, that I recall, have actually identified any source by name.

Welcome! Yes, I believe all the Tapas 9 waiters and workers have all been interviewed. Some have talked to the media while others are obviously staying quiet.

I think the important thing about that is whether the stories of the Tapas 9 gel with the stories of the waiters. Discrepancies are really important since they were out in a public place where their activities were watched by outsiders.

Original reports said that the Tapas group came there alone without kids every night they were there, and they drank a good bit of wine. But there has always been the discrepancy about just how much they drank, and how many times they went to check on the kids.

Same here. Plus the blunders that keep being associated with the police regarding the contaminated crime scene I think was the intentional doing on the part of the McCanns. Therefore it could go a long way in explaining the nervousness of the McCanns if they in fact didn't do quite as good a job and the police do actually have something
 
IMO it is certainly possible at some point that Madeline will be declared dead. If this is done, can the McCanns be charged with contributing to her death? Probably a parent would need to petition for this, and IMO the McCanns would still maintain that Madeline is alive.

Why the McCanns NEVER followed a single sighting.... I think we can safely assume that Metodo 3's wonderful powers of investigation, having produced for us so many sightings, are to be taken with something of a pinch of salt.

However, it has always puzzled me why the McCanns never reacted to any of the earlier sightings, especially those in the 'pre - Arguido' days.

Of course, as in every 'missing person' case, any number of sightings invariably find their way into the press, and the police and McCann advisers would have rightly advised the parents not to get their hopes up, and not to off on a tangent every time a sighting is reported.

HOWEVER, with a reported FOURTEEN possible sightings in Malta, leading the police to establish an Interpol led investigation there, why on earth did the McCanns never visit there as part of their 'global tour'?. If MY child had been 'sighted' so many times in one place, I would have SWAM there, if necessary, and to hell with what I was being advised.

And I simply can not, even now, fathom out WHY, when that SECOND Belgium sighting, made by a child therapist who declared it to be '100% Certainly Madeleine', being feted by 'suspicious looking' parents; deemed so credible by the authorities that they dispatched forensic specialists to obtain DNA samples from a drinking glass; Kate and Gerry went to Huelva in Spain, on a PUBLIC holiday to hand out half a dozen leaflets out at a gas station.

I do not know whether the McCanns were ever complicit in the disappearance of their daughter, but I do know that, having spent so much time, enthusiasm, energy and sought such wide assistance in setting up a campaign, projects and website to FIND MADDY, having accumulated a HUGE fund to FIND MADDY, followed not ONE SINGLE ALLEDGED SIGHTING to find Maddy. And the reason for that, in my book, is that they KNEW it COULDN’T possibly have been Maddy.

Rino, the Portuguese Police ( I have read somewhere) don't disclose anything until they are 100% sure. Ppl have criticized them over the last 7 months but I have a gut feeling all will be revealed after the Christmas period.
 
Prickle, have you ever watched the video clip where Kate and Gerry are asked why they don't respond to the reported sightings of Madeleine? Gerry's expression and response are very interesting.

The trip to Huelva when they had a fairly credible-sounding sighting in Belgium is also very odd.

These were still very early days when the presumed sightings occurred, so it is hard for me to dismiss their non-reaction as perhaps growing weary of the roller coaster. They were never on the roller coaster of emotions at all--which is hard to believe given that they publicly stated they believed she had been abducted.

The £1million raised to trace Madeleine McCann will run out early next year as her parents launch a last-ditched attempt to find the missing four-year-old.

In a startling move, Kate and Gerry McCann will throw all the remaining cash in the Find Madeleine fund at a new team of private investigators to mount a covert operation in Portugal.

Spanish detective agency Metodo 3, which has already been paid £300,000 from the fund could be axed after crisis talks on January 9.

With less than £650,000 remaining in the coffers, Kate and Gerry are now under pressure to accept a number of lucrative book deals.

Over the holiday the couple, who have decided not to give each other Christmas presents this year, will also consider offers from film makers and chat shows prepared to pay for interviews or access to their home in Rothley, Leics.

Last night John McCann, Gerry’s brother and fund trustee, said: “We are aware the money has been running out for some time and know we have to do everything we can before it is gone.

“We will now look at other options while there is still a chance we can find Madeleine alive. We will consider British private detectives and we have close contacts in America who may be able to help.

“The one thing we must look at is informal forms of investigation and that could mean operating inside Portugal even though it is something we have not been allowed to do yet.”

Any private investigation within Portugal would break that country’s law.

Their wealthy benefactors, including Sir Richard Branson, have promised to continue funding their legal defence if they face charges over Madeleine’s disappearance.
 
With all due respect, I don't see how not giving each other Christmas presents is relevant to anything. If it is truly part of their grief process, then it is a private decision. I just don't see why that fact was made public.
 
If they've already taken a vacation to Spain so soon, I don't see what any gifts matter either.

They may ask the media to pay for interviews? And, how is this supposed to find their daughter?

People who donated to the Find Madeleine Fund are seeing Metodo 3 pocket £50,000-a-month of their cash - without any apparent breakthrough.
The group has not yet produced any evidence to back their claims that they know who took the girl.
Boss Francisco Marco claims he knows the girl, who would be four years old now, is alive and could be reunited with her heartbroken parents Kate and Gerry for Christmas.
But he was not available to speak to Sky News Online by phone and on arriving at his office in Barcelona, it was claimed he was out of the country - working on a different case.
At a supposedly crucial stage in the inquiry, his luxurious new office - perched above a gay sauna in a grand, pillar-filled building - was in a make-shift state.
 
$100,000 a month for these jerks to run around southern Europe and Morocco catching false sightings of blonde girls purported to be Maddie!

I hope Branson and the other honchos contributing to this fraud are satisfied!
