I do believe that he entered through the window.
That type of shutters is easy to lift for an experienced burglar. (I know this)

I know this because it happened to my parents once.
He probably closed the window behind him and exited through the door.
Yes they're easy to lift, even if windows isn't that easy to open. Problem here is that no officer ever saw that window open in crime scene and LE opinion is that you can't do all that without leaving any forensic evidence. So, perhaps CB using that windows is an imaginary scenario. His modus operandi must be different here.
