I can see that Magnotta very definitely has a mental disorder, Personality Disorder I can see, but he seems to be very organized with everything he does and I don't see someone with schizoprenia or psychosis being that organized and being able to plan with such attention to detail. Here is another article from Christie Blatchford:

Often, he looked back at the mirror as he headed out the front door to the sidewalk — sometimes carrying bags with things inside that were red with Mr. Lin’s blood — to catch a glimpse of his butt in the mirror.

The Axis II diagnoses are pretty clear to me IMO ( non professional but work in the field) but being actually mentally ill with a chemical imbalance....hard to say.

Also the grinder looks very much intact. No blood, and still has a twist tie on it. Either he was extremely meticulous and wrapped it back up including the twist tie but who would do that in a hurry?

I really do not want to go here, but the deceased dog is not the puppy in the video.

I know what picture you're referring to, but I don't believe anyone ever claimed the dog in that photo and the dog used in the video are the same. The dog found in the trash was described as small and black with white paws - exactly what was seen in the video. The picture you are referring to was taken several months before the murder, I believe.
