The thing with water crashes, is that there is USUALLY debris found.
I don't know if it would be possible for the plane to have done a nose dive (intentional or not) and not have left debris anywhere. I am no plane expert, this is JMO.

I still strongly believe the plane was spotted near Maldives, and that is where the plane eventually crashed. Not enough searching was done there. In fact, the Maldives sighting was practically written off as false. Well...I don't think it was false. More searching should have been before that assumption was made.

Hello Ilovepierre,

I totally agree with you. I agree about Maldives and that is where I have concluded the plane went down also.

The very shallow waters off that island where the witnesses saw the low flying plane. I think the shallow waters allowed the plane to do a belly flop landing and then sunk in shallow water which could have kept the plane in tact and explain why no debri was ever found around Maldives.

Anyway, its good to see you and others have not forgotten about this case. Thanks for sticking through with it.

Thanks to others here also.

I am also curious about the Maldives thang. But you'd think we'd know by now - the water is shallow, there is lots of fishing and diving in that area, surely someone would have uncovered something in the last 16 months??

I have been following since day 1.
I don't think I CAN forget about this case!
Maybe one day, there will be resolution!

Depending on where it crashed, maybe not.
I know there are many uninhabited islands in the Maldives.
If the plane went down near where not many people live/fish/dive, it will be harder to spot anything.

The debris photo is NOT a piece of a wing, if it is from a jetliner it looks like a piece of a flap. #MH370

Interesting!!

There is an article here (with a bad translation into English which I have not edited) that says it could be one of three planes:

"That of a debris from the crash of a twin-engine occurred May 4, 2006 close to the southern coast of the island, that of a fragment of the Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 missing in the Indian Ocean in March 2014 and that, finally, a piece of the A310 of Yemenia crashed off the Comoros in June 2009"

It then goes on to suggest it's not from a modern airliner:

"Xavier Tytelman, a specialist in aviation safety, told the website that "the size and shape matches (have) not to (his) notice to a modern airliner. " He did not rule out completely the trail of a Airbus or Boeing, adding that "the silhouette of this wing, high and domed," intrigued, because "even today recreational aircraft do not have this form. "

Reunion is off the coast of Madagascar, it would certainly lend credence to the Maldives theory.

I'm not getting too excited, there are other planes which are possible sources of this piece of wreckage.

It would be wonderful if it was MH370 though, I have to admit that I really don't think we will ever find it, or perhaps this will be the only piece we ever find.

The bodies are the most important thing we could find. At least then those people can go home to their families at last.

I am going to post the link and article from CNN about the piece of plane derbis found

I hope it is part of that plane

The conspiracy theorists are out in force pointing out that this is in the general vicinity of Diego Garcia...

This would be amazing. If we are talking "Lost", then survivors would be great. Regardless, this would be closure for the families. xfingers crossedx
