I think that they are "awash" means they are partially submerged; ie, they are heavy objects, not styrofoam etc.

Wings are made out of a very light material. At least part of them are as have people in the business. Material is light like a feather.

Why doesn't Anderson have some real experts on which could help us like oceanographers to talk about currents and whether or not it's possible the plane could have crashed near Malaysia and then debris floated all the way down in this time?

Derryn I have a quick question for you. What would the plausible reason for this plane to have ended up here other than a hijacking?

No, if it is a "ditching" ............. that means someone was in control until the last second

And the size they are talking about does seem more like a ditch:

As for what else it could be - they suggested cargo that fell off a ship - I just thought it was weird they're already giving alternative explanations. I don't think it's sinister, but I don't get it.[/QUOTE]

Hey they mentioned ditching --- the debris field is usually a lot smaller if the plane impacts in that manner as oppossed to a dive or high speed stall

What is ditching? I didn't understand that part.

Just a thought but this will absolutely bankrupt this airline.
No one will ever step on a plane by them again.

I'm very alarmed by the stolen passport thing but otherwise I have flown Malaysia airlines several times and been very satisfied, they're a good airline as far as service is concerned - I might consider them again for Paris-Kuala Lumpur-Auckland trips

Stresses a lot of shipping travel through this corridor (that's why caution is needed, as could be debris from a ship)

I'd fly them any time. They're a great airline.

That AMSA press conference has now wrapped up. Here's a few of the key points to emerge.
Commercial satellites have captured images of several large objects in the ocean off Western Australia.
The images were analysed this morning and thought to be credible enough to warrant a full-scale search by aircraft and ships for the objects in the belief they may be debris from missing flight MH370.
The objects are around 2500km south-west of Perth.
The largest of the objects is up to 24 metres long.
One RAAF aircraft is already at the location. A further three aircraft have been sent to the area, including a New Zealand Air Force Orion and a US Navy P8 Poseidon aircraft.
It is not unusual to see debris floating in the ocean. Containers are sometimes adrift after falling overboard, for instance.
There is no guarantee the objects are from the missing flight, but this is the best lead search authorities have had so far.
It is not known when the objects will be physically located.

What if Australia just has a case of environmental mess.

What is ditching? I didn't understand that part.

Ditching is what Captain Sully did in the Hudson River.
Sometimes it works out like his did... and sometimes it does not.
IF this is the plane...
I hope that these people didn't survive the accident only to stay out there for this long. :please:

A merchant ship is expected to be at the scene in 3-4 hours and the Australian warship HMAS Success is also on its way.

Yeah, I meant if they flew until they ran out of gas following pilot incapacitation and then fell, it'd be smashed to bits.

They are discussing sea snakes, now my fear of swimming in the ocean has now been confirmed. A 24 meter sea snake really????? Maybe it's the Loch ness monster:banghead:
