#MH370 #JACC Houston: ocean shield will continue to run back and forth in the area over next 24 hours
Expand

WOW! It takes 3 hrs for the ship to make a turn around! WOW!

Houston: this is very deep water - 4500 metres - and the limitation on depth for the autonomous underwater vehicle is 4,500m #MH370

any mention of wreckage? floating debris?

is the Australian ship Ocean Shield by itself?

This is so amazing that they have detected a pinging sound before finding debris!

It sounds like we may actually be getting somewhere this time!!

Remember yesterday when everyone was skeptical of the Chinese since no debris had been found in that area? No debris has been found in the area of the new pinger area either. I actually don't think it's odd that no debris is there at either location. It's been four weeks.

Angus did say on 6th April..

The visual search is ongoing. Ships are going to have a look at the white objects that were found in the sea yesterday, and they will be looked at closely and again to see if the object could have been aboard MH370? Or is it something else? And we've done that continuously over the last 30 days, with all the visual objects that have been recovered from the scene.

and this today

#MH370 #JACC Houston: hope to find wreckage to solve mystery, without wreckage we can't say it's definitely here.

Have picked up the pings twice, and when it's picked up the 3rd time, an underwater drone will be placed to try to see it. Said he didn't know of any thing else that would make the same signal, but will not say it is the black boxes without seeing them.

Each of the runs the vessels conduct takes about 7-8 hours on each leg: #JACC on the search for #Malaysia Airlines #MH370

#JACC Houston: i'm much more optimistic than a week ago

#JACC Houston: if we can fix location, can send AUV down

Yikes... almost 15,000 feet under the ocean. This has got to be the plane. JMO

hopefully the British ship HMS Echo hears something now that they are investigating the signal that the Chinese say they heard...even though it was an intermittent signal that the heard

maybe they need to get the HMS Echo back over to that location

White objects checked out, no relationship to missing plane!

Just wow. This would be a tremendous achievement. Keeping fingers crossed.

#MH370 #JACC Houston: battery life is ending soon. we are one day past advertised shelf life

#MH370 #JACC Houston: We are open as we can have with you and we are not hiding anything

#MH370 #JACC Houston: We are talking about long operation here which will be measured in months

While Houston called the development “the best information we’ve had,” he stressed that further confirmation is needed – and the airplane has yet to be found. He said the signals are being detected about 2.8 miles deep.

I heard the word attenuating from the one person talking about bending sound. Here is one explanation about attenuation. Suckers almost 3 miles deep, amazing they heard anything. (awaiting confirmation)

Attenuation is a general term that refers to any reduction in the strength of a signal. Attenuation occurs with any type of signal, whether digital or analog. Sometimes called loss, attenuation is a natural consequence of signal transmission over long distances. The extent of attenuation is usually expressed in units called decibels (dBs).

Sounds consistent with having heard BOTH boxes!!!

CNN reporting live that 2 separate transmissions were picked up.:please:
