Just trying to figure out what was the type of Jumbojet/Aircraft & Airline operator
the eyewitnesses/Islanders on Kuda Huvadhoo island in Dhaalu Atoll, Maldives claim to have seen
flying low on the 8th of March, based on following useful Wikipedia Indo, MSM, links, Maps:

Info about Dhaalu Atoll, Maldives capital island Kudahuvadhoo, located at the atoll's southern tip:
[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kudahuvadhoo"]Kudahuvadhoo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]
"Kudahivadhoo has a population of about 3,580"
"On March 19, 2014 the New York Post said that residents of Kudahuvadhoo reported having seen an airplane
resembling the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, which disappeared midflight to Beijing from Malaysia on March 8, 2014.
This lent credence to one of the theories that the flight had been commandeered by someone who intended to land the plane in
a remote area. Kudahuvadhoo has an airstrip. The Kudahuvadhoo airstrip was one that the pilot had practiced landing on,
using his homemade flight simulator. The claim was subsequently rejected by authorities."

First built by the Royal Navy, and transferred to the Royal Air Force as RAF Gan, it was a military airbase used during World War II and until 1976.
The British handed it over to the government and it was used as a domestic airport. Recently the airport has been upgraded to international standards
in preparation for international flights with the opening of tourist resorts in the area.
Gan International Airport (GIA) serves as a key tourism gateway to the Republic of Maldives and its luxury beach resorts and dive sites.
GIA is situated at the southern tip of the country, and allows international and domestic aircraft movements year-round."

The Star an English-language MSM newspaper in Malaysia published March 18, 2014:
http://www.thestar.com.my/News/Nation/2014/03/18/Missing-MH370-maldive-low-flying-jumbo/
"Residents of Kuda Huvadhoo in Dhaal Atoll in the Maldives reportedly saw a "low-flying jumbo jet" flying over houses
early in the morning of March 8, the same day Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 went missing.
In a report by Maldivian daily Haveeru, residents described the aircraft which flew over Kuda Huvadhoo at around 6.15am as being white,
with red stripes across it.
This colour scheme is very similar to the livery used by Malaysia Airlines on its aircraft - including the Boeing 777 used for MH370.
Eyewitnesses who saw the aircraft agreed that it was travelling in a north to south east heading towards Addu, the southern tip of the
Maldives, and all commented on the very loud noise the aircraft made when flying over the island.
One noted that the doors on the aircraft could be seen clearly, a fact that was also agreed upon by other eyewitnesses.
"Some people got out of their houses to see what was causing the tremendous noise too," said the eyewitness"."
"based on satellite data obtained since MH370 disappeared from Malaysian radars at 2.15am on March 8."

"Addu City (local administrative code Seenu) is a city in Maldives consisting of the inhabited islands of
the southernmost atoll of the archipelago. Addu City is the second-largest inhabitance in Maldives, in terms of population"
"In August 1941, the netlayer HMS Guardian landed Royal Navy construction crews on Addu Atoll in the Maldives Islands to
begin work on a secret naval base for Britain’s Eastern Fleet."
"The Royal Navy selected the southernmost island, Gan (pronounced "Yahn") for their airfield and began construction of three
crushed-coral airstrips for the Fleet Air Arm. This was turned over to the Royal Air Force in 1957 and became “RAF Station Gan,” an
airfield that would be used intermittently until 1971. The FAA airfield on Gan in theory could handle all aircraft in the
British inventory, but had short runways and larger bombers often crashed on landing."
"British naval base.
"The Royal Navy established a base ("Port T") - later RAF Gan from 1957 - on the island of Gan (Addu City)."
"In 1957, the naval base was transferred to the Royal Air Force. As RAF Station Gan, it remained in intermittent service until 1975, when British Forces withdrew.
Most of the employees who had experience working for the British military spoke good English. When RAF Station Gan closed, they turned to the nascent tourism industry for employment.
As a result, there was an influx of Addu people to Malé seeking employment in the nearby resorts and also looking for education to their children. Ex RAF Gan is now a tourist resort,
an equator village, with the airstrip now being Gan International Airport.".

Interesting to know what WS'ers think the object found by islanders on Baarah Island Maldives beach around a month ago
(Monday 24.3.2014) looks like? Any suggestions with photos, comments on this?

The report that the Malaysian government is talking about 'possibly releasing' is a compulsory report of the facts surrounding the missing plane. This report is already in existence - the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) requires countries to submit a factual rundown of whatever is known about any air crash within 30 days.

IMO the Malaysian government is just releasing a 'media teaser'. Any wonder the families get up in arms...

BEIJING: Dozens of relatives of passengers aboard missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 held an overnight protest outside the Malaysian embassy in Beijing demanding information from officials, two participants said on Friday.
The protest followed a chaotic meeting on Thursday between airline staff and relatives who have been waiting for nearly 50 days without any sighting of the plane, prompting police to step in to separate both sides.
About two-thirds of the 239 passengers aboard the missing plane came from China, and many of their relatives have waited with frustration at a hotel in Beijing for updates, often venting at airline or government officials who come to brief them.

Mr Dolan revealed that investigators and international experts in Malaysia continue to analyse satellite data to refine the search area.

It was analysis, employing never before used technology, of communications and “handshakes” the MH370 plane made with an Inmarsat communications satellite, which enabled the team to say the plane ended its flight in the southern Indian Ocean, off Perth. To do so it flew off course for more than seven hours after its last communication with Kuala Lumpur air traffic control.

"While the whole world is eagerly watching the news for suspected debris from the missing Malaysian airline flight MH370,
Maldives newspaper Haveeru which earlier reported a possible sighting of the plane flying low over an island of Maldives have
again reported that an object suspected to be a fire suppression bottle of an aircraft has washed up on the beach of one of the islands
in the Maldives."
"The residents of Baarah, in Haa Alifu Atoll Maldives, saw an object washed up on the island’s beach on Monday. Most of the witnesses

an explosive device but did not elaborate further on the nature of the object.
Three aircraft engineers and a pilot who chose to be anonymous have told Haveeru that the suspected object is very likely to be a fire suppression
bottle from an aircraft."
This discovery of this possible debris, from missing Malaysian airline flight MH370 comes a week after several residents from Kuda Huvadho, another
island in the Maldives, reported sightings of a very low flying jet over their island on the day the flight went missing. However both the
Maldives National Defence force and Malaysian authorities have denied the sightings and Maldives National Defence force have not revealed any

BBM.
Some of us here on WS figured that it is/was a fire suppression bottle.
Specifically one from a Boeing plane.
But I guess authorities in Maldives have concluded it wasn't that but something else not related to the plane.
IMO, I don't think it was ever investigated.

... Pings....
Going back in time, early stages of the search,
does anyone here on WS know what happened to the Eyewitnesses on Kuda Huvadhoo island Maldives, like
are there any video's or Live News Interviews from that area any informative links ?
Does anyone know what exact Aircraft those eyewitnesses saw ?
How many eyewitnesses were there in total, MSM link from Maldives below reports "several other residents have reported seeing the exact same thing",
did they see another aircraft and which one was that Airline/Craft Type the Maldives island residents saw or did they all just Dream about it all
, or was it a UFO, what was the Aircraft Brand/Type they saw and what flight route was it on ???

"Eyewitnesses from the Kuda Huvadhoo concurred that the aeroplane was travelling North to South-East, towards
the Southern tip of the Maldives – Addu. They also noted the incredibly loud noise that the flight made when it flew over the island.
"I've never seen a jet flying so low over our island before. We've seen seaplanes, but I'm sure that this was not one of those.
I could even make out the doors on the plane clearly," said an eyewitness.
"It's not just me either, several other residents have reported seeing the exact same thing. Some people got out of their houses
to see what was causing the tremendous noise too."
Mohamed Zaheem, the Island Councilor of Kuda Huvadhoo, said that the residents of the island had spoken about the incident."
"A local aviation expert told Haveeru that it is "likely" for MH370 to have flown over the Maldives.
The possibility of any aircraft flying over the island at the reported time is extremely low, the expert added. "

"Reports of MH370 sighting over Maldives untrue: Malaysia minister"
"Earlier, in a statement released late on Tuesday, police said they were investigating a report on the Haveeru news website
that local residents had spotted a large plane flying over the remote southern island of Kuda Huvadhoo on March 8.
"Several alleged sightings of the Boeing 777, which vanished en route from Kuala Lumpur with 239 people on board, have proved to be false
alarms and reports of debris at sea have also turned up nothing.".

"US rules out MH370 landed at its Indian Ocean base."
"The United States has ruled out the possibility of the missing Malaysian plane landing at its Indian Ocean base in Diego Garcia.
"I'll rule that one out," White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters yesterday when asked about such news reports appearing mainly in the Chinese press.
Carney said the Malaysian government has the lead in this investigation and the US officials are in Kuala Lumpur working
closely with the Malaysian government on the investigation.".

Can they prove what flight the Maledivians saw that time/date...

I think they were way too quick to discard the Maldives sighting of a low flying plane shortly after 6 AM. Its very possible that the plane was waiting for sunlight to try for an emergency landing. It could have been doing circles around maldives and when sun came up it tried for emergency landing near there. Are there any airports on Malidives because it could have purposely landed there too. Below is a map and I think its possible.

Like someone else said, they saw a plane flying very low that they never saw so low before because of the roar it made. Multiple people saw it. Not just 1 person.

This is exactly why I'm not discrediting the Maldives sighting.
Multiple people saw it. It was something very unusual to see. The timeline fits.

Is it odd that" bluefin" has done 12-13 missions and (as far as I know) there has not been one single picture of the ocean floor at all?
In such uncharted waters IMO they would've shown something on HLN. No one seems to be asking either. At least not the reporters I have listened to.
