Of all the people to have a high tech flight simulator, a pilot is the least suspicious to me. By all accounts, this pilot was really into tech stuff. He trained and examined students. Seems like lots of pilots get/build the best simulator they can afford.

OFF TOPIC!!!

I have a slight (ok, maybe to you, but HUGE to me!) emergency and you intelligent folks I'm sure can help me! I lost my address bar! I'm using firefox. I can't type in any websites to visit!!! I don't know what I did, but it's GONE!!! SOS, MAYDAY, HELP!!!
Top Left...click Firefox to drop menu. On right click Options. Click on Navigation toolbar. ;) If that doesn't work...take two geeks and call me in the morning. I mean...better ask an expert.

UGH! I can't even refresh the page. :(

I dont have firefox, but couple things to try.

See if you can right click in the area where it used to be to see if there is an option to turn it back on.

Open up another Window (FILE / NEW WINDOW) and bring up another Website and if Address Bar is there, then just use that one and close the other one.

fake-passports-iran.jpg

same legs and torso photoshopped -- why

Between the flight flying to my city losing part of its wing, the Amazing Race being in Kuala Lampur tonight, and now finding out that there is a live 10 year reunion of the show LOST airing right now, I am officially kind of freaked out.

bbm - I tend to want to defend the pilots, too, but one bit of information that came out was that the pilot (we can only assume the M gov't checked his voice - and found it was indeed him) said "good night" to the controllers AFTER he turned off the transponder.

That is pretty damning evidence to me.... and THEN you look at the other things - that someone in control of the airplane knows what they are doing - know how to fly between radar paths, knows how to turn off other tracing devices. THEN you look at his recent history - upset with government, attended trial, etc. I know, I know - lots of pilots have strong opinions - but how many would care enough to attend the trial of someone on the day they are scheduled to fly all night? That shows a level of conviction that is unusual imho.

On Sunday, Malaysian Defense Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said at a news conference that that the final, reassuring words from the cockpit — “All right, good night” — were spoken to air traffic controllers after the ACARS system was shut down. Whoever spoke did not mention any trouble on board, seemingly misleading ground control.

Air force Maj. Gen. Affendi Buang told reporters he did not know whether it was the pilot or co-pilot who spoke to air traffic controllers.

I do find this article interesting but only because of the fake photo showing the same shoes for both guys with the fake passports.

I just wonder why we cant see the other guys shoes..

Better yet why show us any shoes?
I mean , there must be something for them to be talking about for the whole same legs issue to come about anyway right?

holy carp

a possible revelation about the shoebomber who testified?

The photo is like that because the placed one photo on top of the other. We are seeing the legs from the bottom photo.

I think he is talking about the shoe bomber. Big story about the bomb in the shoes but they never show the shoe. JMOO

makes his look like one for 6 year olds!!

I disagree. Strongly. Let's put this into perspective... He's a qualified INSTRUCTOR who is also certified as an EXAMINER by the Malaysian Civil Aviation Safety Authority

And again... (we really need a FAQ Thread!)

This is my home simulator... does it make me a potential terrorist???

It's almost noon in Malaysia. Wish we would hear something like good news!

What he has is much more than an Xbox or game simulator. Look at the separate foot pedals, the separate thrust levers, all the supporting hardware, and those nice monitors. This is not your run of the mill simulator you can just buy at Best Buy. This is no doubt an elaborate system he had.

Personal commercial flight simulation systems run a mere $3000-$7000.
A pilot with skills could easily make his own. My hubby would love to do this and has talked about it for several years. But, lucky for me there is a nice new one at our local airport he can get his simulator "fix" when he's not flying the Cessna. Pilots, aircraft mechanics, engineers are a special breed. They don't consider what they do..work...it's a paying and enjoyable hobby :)

can you right click somewhere in an empty space on your address bar and click on restore? I'm not on firefox, but that how to get mine back sometimes.

I am also wondering if they arrived in Malaysia on the same flight?
something else that has me thinking is if they were dissidents I am surprised they were able to get passports to travel out of Iran.JMO

BBM ~ Good point!

We have enough mysteries on our hands right now if you dont mind!!!!!!!!!!

No, but it makes you my new best friend. :D Let's play Airplane!

The high school buddy said they stayed "a week". He must have been in contact until they left.

the accounts I read stated that they stayed overnight at his ap't and he drove them to the airport the next day

so maybe he was in contact with them for the first few days and then they stayed at his place the last night before the flight?

I wish reporters would publish specific days, times, dates ...

:B]QUOTE=Isabelle;10342209]Baer on CNN, I think I heard him say that they (Malaysia) still has not turned data on passengers to US authorities assisting investigation. He further said he thinks they are in denial.

At this point nothing is worth hiding. They need to open up, not to the world, but to assisting investigators.[/QUOTE][/B]

:banghead:

Talk about pride before a fall -- outrageously arrogant and mean spirited to those poor folks who NEED info about their missing loved ones
