Bbm.
Do they have her phone ?
Hope she is found safe and sound, but there are many predators out there !
She has to have shelter and food from someone/somewhere, etc. ?
Omo.
I don't remember them saying they found it. I don't speak a lot of Spanish but can understand some. The subtitles help and it sounded to me like he gave LE access to his phone plan for them to dig into her phone remotely.

The July 12 update by the sheriff's office said searches have been conducted in other states including Alabama, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.

"Video images and other media led to HCSO working closely with jurisdictions in those states to quickly mobilize and search for Maria. Unfortunately, she remains missing," the update stated.

The post said evidence collected from search and digital evidence has "provided hope for a break in the case and continue to be the best investigative resource thus far."

A $50,000 reward for helping find Maria remains active, and the sheriff's office says the HCSO Special Investigations Unit (SIU) continues to take tips at (770) 503-3232 or intelrequest@hallcounty.org.

The One in Five Foundation for Kids, a national nonprofit, is joining the ongoing search for Maria Gomez Perez, a missing 12-year-old from Gainesville who was last seen at her home in late May. The group is assembling a team of volunteers from its STOPNOW school community patrol team in its Dallas, San Antonio and Bell County chapters, who will aid in a grid search.

Over a dozen volunteers are already in the rotation and will also distribute fliers with Gomez Perez's picture throughout Bell, McClennan and Bexar counties.

This absolutely the best news I could have woke up to this morning. I am so doing the happy dance around my house. Still lots of questions but she is alive and ultimately that is what this is all about!

Updated info this morning: Found in Ohio with a 31 year-old man that she met online. He's been charged with r*pe, with other charges possible.

"Investigators believe that Gomez-Perez had been communicating with the man via Facebook and had told him she was unhappy and wanted to leave home. Despite the communication, Sheriff Couch reiterated that "Maria is the victim."

Authorities said the man drove from Ohio to Gainesville, Georgia, on May 29, picked Maria up, and then traveled back to Dover, Ohio, where they are believed to have been since."

and

"Couch says Augustin was arrested and is being held in Ohio on a rape charge. He will likely face several felonies in both Ohio and Georgia."

Some additional info.
So glad she was found!

He says Maria met Antonio Agustin, a Guatemalan native, online and began chatting with him and other adult men through Facebook Messenger. She told Agustin that she was unhappy and wanted to leave home.

On May 29, Agustin drove from his Ohio home to Gainesville to pick Maria up and take her back to northeast Ohio, where investigators believe they have been since.

The sheriff went on to say that they found her after she made another Facebook account and messaged her father to let him know that she was fine, but wasn’t coming home and wanted him to stop looking for her.

Investigators were able to use the IP address from that message to track down the phone number and Maria’s location.
