Hi Dee, it was me who suggested having Shaine look at the possible matches.

Because they are on a few seperate threads I am not going to be able to put this together until Saturday at the earliest. Via photobucket.

I will go ahead and do this, but I have to honestly say after seeing the hospital picture and going through them, sadly I doubt any are a match.

If someone else has the time to get it done sooner go for it.

I zoomed in the Guess sandals as much as I could and sharpened the image and it almost looks as if the red area just to the right of the Guess logo is a circular shape with the size "7" in the center. That's a pretty standard size for a girl MJD's height, IMO. But I could be wrong, I don't have the best vision in the world!

Didn't the detectives take the jewelry to a jeweler to confirm that it is real?

I think it was an evidence technician that took them for "photography purposes (from the police report).

Sorry if this has already been brought up....the pic with the shoes has an envelope that looks like it is addressed to some "studio" on McDowell Rd in Phoenix. Any ideas?

ETA: Found it...it is for Crossland Economy Studios (extended stay) Suites at 4861 W. McDowell Rd in Phoenix. Can anyone see the return address info on the envelope, or the date?

I tend to believe she was in the back seat as well. Why sit in the middle when there's a whole backseat?

Does anyone know where this hotel is located? Hookers tend to live out of hotels. Maybe the envelop was in her purse and fell out? I think it would be cool if someone local could take a composite to the hotel and just see... I wish I lived closer.

The hotel is on another main road, north of Van Buren.

I also agree that she was probably in the back seat. If those were her shoes, how did they end up back there? She must've been really comfortable to get in the front seat and toss her shoes back there if that's what happened. I think she took them off and climbed over the "console" area. Not that it would identity her, that's just what I envision. Although the backseat was crammed with stuff, so I don't know why she'd be sitting back there. The only reason I think it's important to know if she was sitting in the backseat or frontseat is that it would have been a discrepancy in the story-- and probably many more..

I do not think any of the possible matches look like MJD :-( I also think the jewelry is pretty basic stuff that you can get at any jewelry store except for the initials being on the ring. LE did check the jewelry out.

The police didn't know where she was sitting. They went according to the passenger's statement in the semi truck. I have read 2 different versions now about what the guy said so it's still unclear to me as to where she was sitting.

Initially Alonzo, or Alonzo and LDJ made her comfortable enough to take her shoes off and toss them in the back seat and that is what Alonzo was reaching for when the car was all over the road. That MJD was first in fear only after they hit the highway. I-10 isn't a HWY I recall from my travels to PHX, I remember 17 and the newer highway... can't think of it off the top of my head.

I think she was new/newer to being on the streets in the area, hence the reason no strippers recognized her photo and her picture wasn't on the "wall of fame" with other recognizable street girls as LDJ's was.

Because she lacked a SUN TAN, I doubt she was in the area long.... If she was working days for some time, her skin would have had some color. Because of that I think she was from a cooler area- Lipsey link. While it's not "hip" for locals to spend much time getting sun I have a hard time believing a teen would not have gone for the sun tan, especially in the late 90's and at her age if she had been around for a time.

Good point about the suntan but it was also January so I don't think she could have gotten a tan unless she went to a tanning booth and those weren't big back then. She might have been someone that didn't ever tan. Maybe she only got a sunburn like most fair complected people do.

The tanning booths were big back then. I remember vacationing in PHX with the rare rain and finding a tanning salon to not miss my sun! I am certain it was before 99 and I worked at one in 86. With as little as MJD was wearing in Jan, I have to think she came from a climate where Jan in PHX felt mild to her....

If MJD wore heavy foundation, perhaps that would keep her face from tanning.... We didn't see if she had any color from the sun elsewhere on her body.

To me, MJD didn't appear to have worn foundation. ( if she had good skin why the need?)

Dee, can you ask Shaine if she appeared to be wearing liquid or a moist compact style foundation?

If she was wearing foundation, I think it would show in the hospital photo similiarly to what was left of her eyeliner and mascara.

Did we ever verify if the RA posted with pics available was the same RA who was a witness in the LE report? Do we have a DOB for her from the LE report? (for verfication purposes) There is a Robyn Angers listed in AZ on Veromi, but it is a paid site for additional info and I honestly do not have the extra funds right now.

Maybe someone should email the composite images of MJD that Shaine said were the closest, #6, #5, and #1 to the email addy and see if any of them get hits back...

It's a long shot, I know. I'd volunteer to do it but I'm kind of busy at work right now.

I also agree that she got into the car thinking she was going to turn a trick, especially since LDJ wasn't in the vehicle yet. She seemed fair complected, I think that she would at least have a sunburn or something. She either didn't work the streets during the day, or she was brand new into prostitution, which seems the most plausible. As far as foundation, I think I see some traces of it on the sides of her face. Most likely the powder or compact type. If you zoom in and look closely you can see a beige powdery substance in the creases of her eyes and dusted over the fine hairs on her face.
