I think MG should be commended for asking for more tests than they asked.

Calling all Parents and all GMAs to do the same...let's get to the bottom of this!

Let's find Haleigh!

What about Voice Stress versus Polygraph?

The United States Department of Defense has stated based on extensive research that the preponderance of scientific evidence clearly demonstrates the Polygraph is far more accurate at detecting deception than is Voice Stress. No Department of Defense Agency uses Voice Stress. The Virginia State legislature has disallowed the use of Voice Stress. Polygraph is the only lie detection technique directly used by Federal Government Agencies.

I'd be interested in knowing why LE opted to do the VSA rather than a polygraph. According to this article (below), recent research continues to show very unreliable results (troubling) with both the polygraph and the VSA tests and states the following;

"Both polygraphs and voice analyzers are used by law enforcement, prison and parole officials to intimidate suspects during questioning. Although an interrogator screaming at a subject that he failed a lie detector test and needs to “come clean” may result in some legitimate confessions from the guilty, there is also the danger of coercing innocent suspects who are vulnerable, stressed and confused into confessing their “guilt” for crimes they did not commit."

The entire article is worth the read - it contains alot of useful information on both the poly & the VSA.

I have to admit after reading this article my concerns surrounding the known SO's being cleared by LE, based in whole or in part on the results of their poly's, are no longer put to rest . . .

That is sad she uses the past tense in talking about Haleigh she has been gone for quite some time now, Ron used past tense speech right after Haleigh was missing in some of his interviews. I hope something happens soon.

I know they have all used past tense in their interviews - that one just got me they are there honoring Haleighs birthday and hear her appearance described in past tense just really got to me.

I know I started crying when I watched it...:(

My heart broke for Marie watching her on the video at HaLeigh's Closet - one would have to be beyond cold to not see her pain - IMO
Oh Lord I just pray that this family gets answers soon . . .

I didnt say it meant anything, I said it really bothered me to hear Haleigh being described in past tense. I really am finding it hard why every single post has to be analyzed and twisted to mean something bad.

6 months isn't 6 days - use of "past tense" means nothing here . . . IMO,
My heart is broken for Marie - May she have answers very soon!!

Yes, that is a fact...And within 24 to 48 hours after the alleged kidnapping..
And if I remember correctly the exact words were.... "I would give my life to have my child's life back."

I always found that statement extremely telling. To have your child's life BACK says a lot to me.

Marie did look and sound very sad. My prayers go out to her and Crystal; I know they are suffering. I don't believe anyone can understand the pain of a lost child's mother or grandmother until you've been there. I hope none of us ever find ourselves in Marie or Crystal's shoes.

My opinion only

Busylady you know why. When Haleigh is found and the truth is revealed all the conflict here at WS will disappear along with a few posters. Hang in there! I look forward to your posts when I check in here to see if there is a better atmosphere (I can find out else where what is going on and if and when HaLeigh is found) but see it is still unwelcoming to thoughts and opinions that differ from Ron and Misty and Paternal family are guilty and that is a shame.

I think this is just a matter of interpretation. To me, it meant that Ron would give anything to give Haleigh her life back the way it was before, meaning that she would not have disappeared and that she would be the same happy child as before. I see this as a completely reasonable statement and not indicating anything at all sinister.

And, I have to say, I can't fault Marie or anyone else for speaking of Haleigh in past tense at times. While it's unnerving, I think they just mean that they are referring to past happy times and not implying that they know something deeper.

So, we each have our differing interpretations.

The way I see it...the odds are not in Haleighs favor. How many children go missing in our country every day? How many children that go missing come home alive? It is heart wrenching to think about and to hear these family members put words together to make a complete sentence is a minor miracle to me. If they watch tv and read the newspaper they know the odds that their beautiful little Haleigh will come home alive. These past tense words in my opinion are the hearts way of speaking what their greatest and most deadening fear is. It's not nice and it is hard to hear it, but the words we hear should remind us that their fear is very very real and we should count our blessings that it is not out child that was ripped from us.

I was just reading the first page of the thread and what appears to be a long history of crime. It is important to read line by line. The interpretation of the report IMO is she had pot plant/s in her home and a bong once. This was twelve years ago.

She had a bad check once, eighteen yrs ago and it was very low in amount so I don't think there was a big scam going on....ONE CHECK.

Is this claim saying this shows a criminal record in support of her being of poor character and the cause of Crystal's use of drugs?

I think this report is an attempt to support a theory that Marie is involved in Haleigh's disappearance. If so, the poster has a right to print it but it will not sway my opinion. Marie is not the culprit here.

The use of past tense is good for the first hours after the crime. RC said some strange things that first day. He used past tense more than once.

I think if we have to continue to make excuses for RC and re-interpret every thing he says, it it time to check ourselves. How many times has his words been explained? And Misty's too?

What you said was reasonable...what RC said was not.
