They can thank Mosby for the over policing in that area right before all this happened, she's the one that ordered it.

I don't disagree Dana. Many years ago I was a Baltimore City resident. It was when the murder rate was in the 300's but I was lucky to live in Roland Park which was a "rich" and protected area. I am concerned with overpolicing but I also know when we had a Police Commisioner from New York, Ed Norris, crime went down....

After her request for a broad gag order was denied, Baltimore's top prosecutor is asking a judge to bar attorneys representing the six police officers charged in Freddie Gray's death from sharing evidence in the case before it goes to trial.

I don't get it, she's specifically trying to keep the autopsy report under wraps....how exactly does that work when your request for a gag order has already been denied?

Idk why but this reads to me like a hollow CYA statement and still uncooperative/antagonistic with LE departments. May be I'm just being too hard on Rawlings-Blake statement or may be not. Did any one watch the Q&A Fox video/question where Ms. Rawlings-Blake stumbled on a fairly easy question a couple weeks ago? (here it is beginning of clip:)

My guess is Ms. Rawlings-Blake has some PR person or possibly higher-up department helping her brave the storm of Baltimore riots and her very central role. Jmo.

mkelly had a segment on her show last nite - and thought it was old news. b/sun has an indepth explanation of this motion and it's far more complex.

from what i get from it - mm wants the rules they have to adhere to also followed by the defense attorneys - and this article explains why they're not the same.

holy crap - in this article - they're saying either keep quiet or let's put all the discovery on-line . . . if i'm reading this correctly

i thought it was rumored that they did hire a pr person.

guess it's not working - the in-fighting is becoming more public:

quote from article: Rawlings-Blake said she looked forward to sharing information and to the city's own review, which will show "the full truth of what happened during the moments before and after the unrest."

"It will be made clear that I never ordered the brave men and women of the Baltimore Police Department to stand down," she said.

She really doesn't want that autopsy report to get out.

What she is asking here sounds like something that would automatically give anyone convicted in this case an appeal to higher court .

No kidding!! Because what she is saying is that the EVIDENCE becoming public, things like the autopsy report, the TRUTH, will prevent her from getting convictions. Suppressing the evidence will not "help" the officers get a "fair trial"-- suppressing the evidence will "help" the prosecutor get convictions. Mosby is saying she cannot prosecute the case (AND WIN) if the evidence becomes public.

If the case were solid, the prosecutor would just shrug about the defense potentially releasing evidence to the public, and go about putting on her case. Like most prosecutors do, even in high profile cases.

And yeah, pretty much everyone knows that whatever is in the autopsy report is clearly NOT favorable to the prosecutor's charges, IMO.

Let's all hope the courts deny this prosecutor's request to gag the defense attorneys. From what I know, the bar for gagging defense attorneys is pretty high-- let's hope the judge agrees. Transparency, public dialogue, and accountability is severely needed in this case.

We don't need a kangaroo court in Baltimore.

Also the latest effort seems like a child's reasoning "Oh, you've already told me no. Well how about this, I'll accept your
' no' if you let me do such and such. "

Um. ... no

this is 1 of 3?? mm's responses for this coming friday's court appearance. . .

Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn J. Mosby's office fired back this week at a defense argument that she should be removed from prosecuting six city police officers in the arrest and death of Freddie Gray, saying in a strongly worded rebuttal that the officers and their attorneys are distorting facts in the hope that "vitriol will trump logic."

this caught my eye - is it normal to all cap the word "deny" in a court filing? (last page)

pdf: http://www.baltimoresun.com/bal-sta...usal-of-marilyn-mosby-20150619-htmlstory.html

o/t - must read = police commissioner's letter to the editor article

edit: one comment suggested the defense put mm on their witness list = problem solved. is this correct?

Yep, she wants all discovery to be public even if it might be inadmissible at trial. If she had discovery on domestic issues, she'd put that out there too. It should be denied.

Autopsy of Freddie Gray shows 'high-energy' blow

..suffered a single "high-energy injury" — like those seen in shallow-water diving incidents — most likely caused when the police van in which he was riding suddenly decelerated, according to a copy of the autopsy report obtained by The Baltimore Sun.

The state medical examiner's office concluded that Gray's death fit the medical and legal definition of an accident, but ruled it to be a homicide because officers failed to follow safety procedures "through acts of omission."

Gray tested positive for opiates and cannabinoid when he was admitted to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, according to the autopsy. The report makes no further reference to the drugs found in his system.

The report does not note any previous injuries to Gray's spine.

hopefully they'll have the greta video up tomorrow - she reported on this and mm emailed?/contacted her immediately and she read the message . . . wish i had paid attention.

yikes - bet they're gonna lie detector her staff . . . or was this planned?

edit - meghyn kelly's leading with this

Who currently has access to the complete autopsy? I thought it was only SA's office, ME, and Mr. Gray's family/attorney, but idk. Apparently the Baltimore Sun has some information too. I think Baltimore Sun article does not discuss complete autopsy and only interpretation, so may be someone fed them tidbits without providing reports?
