found this on a public FB page, got permission to post it from mods. JD when he was young. doesn't have any bearing on the investigation, i just wanted to post this because he looks just like Ayla.

ugh. i hope they find this child soon. :(

Whoa, he does!

I don't think LE ever considered that a toddler would have made her way down steps from the attic in the dark, let herself out of the house and vanished all by herself. I don't think they believe a random intruder would have broken in, gone up to the attic and abducted one of two babies, the one who happened to be in the middle of a contentious custody dispute and suffering from a broken arm, and left undetected.

LE must be fairly certain that neither the mom nor any of her family members were involved in an abduction or else they would be interviewing them non stop, not concentrating their investigation and search efforts around the father's home.

Missing and rescheduling a well baby visit is one thing. Blowing off a visit to a specialist after a broken bone is quite another and indicates a careless and selfish mindset.

There is nothing to indicate that the mom wanted the father to take care of the baby while she was in rehab. He was directed to protective services by LE and the mom agreed providing he moved in with his mother.

To me, the mom comes around as distraught and heartbroken. Accusatory also, but the baby was in the father's care when she vanished. The father on the other hand comes across as defensive, self serving and emotionally distant.

I've never heard of LE asking victims or their family members not to speak to the media in a possible kidnapping case. Asking that they not reveal information sensitive to the investigation, or physically search themselves, yes, but pleaing for the return of a child and asking for information from the public, no. All MOO.

I believe that JD is hiding behind two carefully written statements for the public. He is afraid that if he appears on camera, that the body language and vocal experts will be able to detect flaws in his story. I believe that he is covering up the truth on what happened to Ayla, and fears being asked new on-the-spot, bold questions by reporters.
I also am sure that he already has a defense attorney "on standby" for "no further questions" should LE ask him to appear at the station. That is now the get out of jail free card used by parents with suspicious claims about their missing children. When the chips are down, hire an attorney and refuse to speak to LE or in the courtroom. It werks, yep it do. Absolutely.

IMHO

The cars have been returned, including the dad's, and the FBI is focussed on the driveway side window, and it's measurements. I still have the feeling that they believe she was taken from the home that night. It may have been by someone who had been in side the home that night. OR maybe by someone who had previously been inside the home.

I know that everyone says it is impossible to sneak inside a home at night and not awaken everyone. But I disagree. In fact, it happens all of the time. And if there are a lot of adults inside the home, which there were, then people tend to ignore noises and footsteps. And IF someone climbed in a window and snuck quietly up the stairs, it might have been possible to do so without causing a scene.

The same with the car noise. If there are lots of adults in your home then you expect to hear cars coming and going. And they had neighbors as well. So no reason for a car noise to wake anyone up, imo.

I think she could have been taken from that room without awakening or upsetting the other baby. It would just be a matter of luck, imo.

I have no idea what happened that night. But I am open to the idea that sh

Do we know the last time someone other than the dad saw Ayla?

No. At least, not to my knowledge. I think there was a dispute over the 11 hours vs. 13 hours, with one person claiming one time she was put to bed and another person another time. JMO

does anyone know if its confirmed/fact that Ayla was asleep in attic bedroom? i've been playing around with different sites to get view of side of house/driveway to see windows and which may have been taken out by investigators, but the house i'm seeing from the side doesn't appear that it could possibly have space up there. if anything maybe pull down stairs to storage space.

Yes, even in a recent news video, I heard that the dad put Ayla to bed around 10:15 but I also read 8:30 ish as the more consistent time. I'm confused. The reporter states the time of 10:15 pm at 0:47 in this video. http://www1.whdh.com/news/articles/...play-suspected-in-maine-girl-s-disappearance/

The last seen time did change at the beginning of this whole thing and I even thought that someone other than the dad may have been the one to have seen her at the 10 pm time.

In my opinion, there is not a logical excuse that not even one member of the father's family--including himself--has made even one public plea for Ayla's return. This is baffling to me, and I don't feel that it can be explained away at all. How in the world would a distraught father, grandmother, grandfather, and/or aunt pleading for their baby's return affect this investigation, especially two weeks later?

It wouldn't harm the investigation...maybe the other adults in the home immediately felt something was wrong, or that they would soon become suspects, who knows...but for completely innocent people, I would think they would not be able to help themselves from appealing to whoever took her, regardless of whether or not "it works". It seems to me it would just be an emotional thing, like the other Grandpa is showing...

I'm traveling and can't see videos on my phone. Have they shown a video of what they are measuring on the driveway?

I can't help wondering if LE is showing, by measurements, etc. that there is no way the child could have been taken through a window, or in any way that would not alert a household member? It seems such a small house...

I agree. It's odd that, with all of the accusations and subtle inferences against JD, that his mother and sister, at least, would not come to his defense. IF he's responsible for Ayla's disappearance, the silence would throw suspicion on the other adults in the household as accessories. I've thought about the possibility of Ayla being gone before the missed doctor's appointment, which would certainly cast suspicion on all of the adults. But, what if the other adults were told that Ayla had been returned to her mother, so they assumed she was safe? The news that Ayla was missing, believed abducted from the home, would be such a shock. I think they would want to distance themselves from the whole situation.

I'm not accusing anyone; just considering the possibilities. I'm sure LE have interviewed the mother and sister, and anyone else in the house earlier in the evening to verify Ayla had been there prior to the day she was reported missing. All moo.

But as far as we know, the other adults in the home are backing the dad's story. They all said the child was put to bed about 8:30, IIRC.

I think if that was not true, and the child had been missing already for a day or so, then Dad would have been arrested already, imo.

"It is important that the public hear it from me personally that I have no idea what happened to Ayla and that I am not hiding," DiPietro said.

"I have been in full cooperation with everyone in this effort.

"He thought his daughter was with someone and urged the person who has her to return her safely. DiPietro also addressed his daughter's broken arm.

"I would never do anything to hurt my child. The questions of Ayla's arm or bruises or anything else being said are simply ludicrous," he said. "

I would never want anyone to spend even a minute in my shows. No one should ever have to experience this. It has affected me in more ways than anyone can imagine."

Ummm, did he WRITE this himself? ....spend a minute in my SHOWS???Huh??? Is it a "SHOW" he wants to be in??? :banghead:
