I don't believe in covered up "accidents". Normal parents call 911. Period.

I agree, but what is normal about Ayla's parental situation? Not much, from what I can tell.

I am right there with ya.. I remember the initial reports stated a "party"... :waitasec:

I wondered about that also. I haven't been following this case as closely as the others but recall it being mentioned early on that there were people coming and going. Tonight I heard the police spokesperson say only 3 people were in the home so I was a little confused about that.

There hasn't been much said about that loud noise the neighbors heard or even what it sounded like. Could it have been a gun?

So in the short time Ayla has spent at her dad's house, she has has a broken arm, her blood is in the basement where her father's bedroom is, and now she's missing and police suspect foul play.

Oh yeah, I forgot he sent texts to Trista telling her he was paranoid that someone was going to take Ayla. Trista took that to mean he was afraid he was going to lose custody of Ayla.

I have considered that myself. A gunshot, you would think, is a pretty distinctive sound. . .but it was reportedly very loud. . .loud enough to wake the dog. :waitasec:

And yet...no one in the house heard this noise...yeah, that sounds likely. As though a "kidnapper" was crashing about, making enough racket to raise the neighbors and dogs, but the adults in the home don't hear a sound...

You forgot bruises from a non existent chuck e cheese ball pit and a pulled leg muscle if i am remembering right.

All in a matter of mere weeks.

The reporter clearly states they spoke for 15 minutes on the steps AFTER the vigil. What makes you think they showed the clips in reverse? :waitasec:

http://aylareynolds.com/

Apparently JD didn't get there until the last 1/2 hour of the vigil. If they spoke on the steps for 15 of those minutes, I'm thinking that Tristas heartbreaking comments regarding the blood - her daughters blood, was done before Justin even got there, so his comment to her 'don't worry about that' regarding the blood...He obviously didn't realize at that point that she KNEW it was Aylas or how much there was.

My heart is broken over this...I held out such hope that Ayla was safe and sound somewhere. I still can't totally let go of that :(

I've never understood why JD was so much believed at any point...JMO...I've never bought a word of his story(ies).

Likely started when he was at the police station being showed the luminol photos of blood in the basement where he sleeps. JMO

And when he opted to walk out rather than provide reasonable anwers as to how that might have ocurred.

This wekend feels like le finally stopped playing footsie with mr. Uncooperative and started introducing him to us as their POI.

I think he will be wearing that hat very soon. :cow:

Says it all really......

Police also say that Ayla's father, Justin Dipietro, is no longer cooperating with the investigation.

--i wouldn't call it "no longer cooperating"---at all, he's apparently still talking w/ LE , when asked to.

http://www.cnn.com/2012/01/29/justice/maine-missing-toddler/?hpt=ju_c1

At the same time, police are now publicly casting doubt on the accounts of the three adults -- the toddler's father, her aunt and the father's girlfriend -- who were in the home when the then-20-month old child was last seen -- saying they don't "pass the 'straight-face' test in Maine."

"We feel they know more than they're telling us," McCausland said Saturday. "We don't think we got the full story."

McCausland said Sunday that Ayla's father "is still talking to us when we ask him to."

"We've been trying to be diplomatic about his participation, and he talks with us when we ask him questions," the spokesman added.

IMHO the family in the short time they cared for Ayla doesn't appear to have a great track record for calling 911 or heading immediately to ER in emergencies. What if whatever happened was an accident, or even if it wasn't and they hesitated to get that poor little baby medical care and she passed during the night?

With mom already complaining about abuse and neglect during visits, and drugs wrapped into things somehow, maybe they didn't make the smartest decision and decided to go with the kidnapped child route. Not everyone makes the smartest decisions during the best of times, let alone during highly stressful situations.

Yes dad is young, but I haven't read anywhere that dad was physically abusive, other than insinuation from PD he'd "take care of" (paraphrasing here) who took Ayla, and she seems a bit unreliable. Sure it mentioned a bad temper, but we all know many with ferocious tempers that are nothing but pussycats where children are concerned. And mom, with her substance abuse with child removed from care - young, frustrated and learning to share Ayla with dad, who wouldn't scrutinize every mark on a child? I'm sure I would.

Falls happen, accidents happen - we've all heard tales of children injured accidentally by parents, but it doesn't mean there is abuse present. I had bruises from head to foot, all up and down my skinny shins etc my whole childhood - and I was NOT abused. I was an enthusiastic child and not afraid of much - knocked out teeth, sprains and horrible cuts, but NOT abused.

Am I anxious to find out what happened to this child and want her home? Absolutely - something's not right about this situation and Ayla went missing on dad's watch. I can't however in good faith state that all the signs of abuse are there in this situation, and ready the gallows. I might be wrong, but from what I've read in what has been released to the public, NO. Neglect causing injury, possibility. :twocents:

All of the above - MHO and theory of an alternate point of view.
So, go ahead - fire away.
:truce:

Yeah, this is suddenly a new trend. Claim your kid died by accident and you panicked because you didn't want to get into trouble. Then hide the body so well no one can prove you wrong. It's so sad that it seems to be working for them. There should be special abuse of a corpse laws for parents who do this and it can't be proven they commited murder.
